| Answer: | I find Flexcut to be the best available chisels. I compared them to new Swiss, European and Japanese chisels as well as my grandfather's American hand forged Buck Brother's chisels. Flexcut simply have a smoother interior finish than hand forged American, Swiss, European or the Japanese chisels I have sharpened. While sharpening flattens the outside of a chisel, it is much harder to flaten the interior of a V or U chisel. Especially the smaller ones. If the inside is striated or less than perfectly flat, the sharpened edge is undesireably rough and irregular. Yes, I have various shapes of white hard and black Arkansas whetstones, but never the exact shape. The mirror smooth Flexcut can simply be stropped on the Flexcut stropping tool for a super edge. They are slightly harder than Swiss tools, but not the glass hard easy to chip Japanese tools. I found the Mini-Palm set to be perfect for linoleum block carving and small wood detailing. I will buy more. |

| Answer: | As a professional knife sharpener, I did many seminars on proper sharpening over the years. I always went by what I was originally taught by the BUCK people; never use a pre-determined angled sharpener that you slide or grind the blade through, whether it be electric or a manual sharpener! Most manufactures have produced their knives, models, depending on the type of knife from a hunting, fishing, pocket, etc. each having their own angle. When you use a whetstone and hold the angle of the blade against the whetstone at the angle the blade is ground; it takes a little practice, but follow the angle I always said. I hold the blade up at that angle, watch carefully, with the sharp edge against the whetstone, with my figure under it so the angle is maintained and slide it on the whetstone, or pull it forward. Suggestion: watch a video on the internet on how to sharpen a knife with a whetstone. I have always said; do not grind a blade at home, or run it through anything with rods on each side that has been set at the manufactures angle, you are just guessing what the angle is and will be eventually changing the original manufactured angle of that knife the company had on that particular knife to the knife sharpener's angle; ending up changing the angle of the blade, so that is what is going on why you are not having any success, you are recreating the wheel and a new angle on the blade. So a real quick answer on what angle, who cares about the percentage of the angle, follow the angle on the whetstone that the manufacturer has created, every knife will vary like I said. You have complete control of the angle that way for any knife you want to sharpen. If I told you it was 17 %; how would you change that kitchen knife sharpener to accommodate that angle any way; so that would be immaterial!???Hope this help, some people will disagree, I know, I did hundreds of seminars throughout my days at knife and gun shows; but eventually they came back to me and agreed it made a lot of sense, once they got on! |

| Answer: | It's for undercutting reaching under the spots that are hard to get at . I flip it over too works both ways just different pressure points is all .An example is like the lip of a person or animal or nose. I didn't know I needed until the impossible cuts showed themselves. |
