Answer:	The top step is 29 inches. I have 10' ceilings and can touch them with my finger tips. I am 5'3". No problem cleaning ceiling fans. I like the support of the high handle that you can lean into and the overall lightweight construction. Folds up great for storage.

Answer:	Our Ladder was delivered shrink wrapped with cardboard and came in perfect condition. There is no way it weighed 72 pounds. The 22 pounds for the ladder sounds correct. It is very light and I'm a girly weakling with no arm muscles. I love this ladder! We have high ceilings, and now I don't have to get my husband to change light bulbs, I can do it all by myself. The ladder is super easy to fold and unfold and it's very sturdy. I highly recommend this ladder!

Answer:	Operating this ladder is tougher than Chinese arithmetic. I operate the hinge after extending the legs. And before retracting legs. Be careful as it is to get pinched.

Answer:	I haven’t figured it out yet either. I think those two small plastic zigzag pieces on the clamp need to be removed in order to fasten it around the appropriate rung. I think those are there to strengthen the clamp during shipping it not sure. Still investigating.

Answer:	I have had problems extending and retracting my ladder. I have had to have two people pull the ladder to the full length, then I have to force the rungs on the bottom half together. The bottom collapsible rung bottoms out half way down and will not close at all. I've had this ladder about a year and have had nothing but trouble sorry to say.

Answer:	I've used it several times extended only the sections I needed to get the work done, so yes you can do it safely. I do recommend that you inspect ALL the locks carefully to make sure that they in a FULLY LOCKED POSITION. I've had some issues with them not completely locking, and the ones that don't will slide down, so make absolutely sure they are locked.
Question:	On the 8.5 ladder what’s the highest standing point
Answer:	There is the metal on metal sound when extending and collapsing. The locks make a distinct click sound when they lock into place while extending. And if you let the ladder slam while collapsing, even with the rubber stoppers it makes a good noise. Climbing seems to be quiet on mine compared to tradition aluminum extension ladders. I’m sure each ladder is different on the exact “creaks and groans” made. Also, there is Velcro that holds it when it’s collapsed. So, that could be considered loud.

Answer:	AA batteries are required to operate the thermostat. The 'C' wire can be connected but the thermostat will not function without the batteries.
Question:	How much noise does the ladder make when climbing it? And extending and restracting as well
Answer:	The AA batteries are required. The thermostat cannot use a 'C' wire for power. There are 2 warnings for battery power, but instructions say to replace batteries yearly even without seeing warning. If changed quickly, you don't lose anything, but they say you don't lose programming-only date and time if slow like me!

Answer:	No, and additionally, the hooks tend to break off after a while- after three of them broke in the space of 3 months, I had to dispose of it.
