| Answer: | Hi...I found it to be sturdy enough. My dad was about 165lbs and I was able to take him to all his medical appointments in it, and to church. It's the lightest wheelchair I could find that had the arms flip up, which was essential as my Dad had ALS and had to transfer from one surface to another because he couldn't stand. Dad wanted a light wheelchair because he was worried about my mom lifting anything over 20lbs in and out of the car when she had to take him somewhere. This wheelchair folds up pretty compactly and was a great weight for putting in and out of the car. I'd recommend it for sure. The only thing I will say is that if your grandmother likes to have comfy arm rests, this isn't great for that purpose. The arm rests, as you can see, are short and narrow - which is great for transferring, but not comfy for someone sitting for a long time if they like to rest their arms on armrests. Other than that, it was a perfect chair for us. |
