User questions & answers

Question: What type of wood does this particular brass one have
Answer: I think it's balsa, I'm not certain, it's soft, though, for sure...
Question: does this come with the insert
Answer: Yes comes factory sealed with its insert all you need to do is add lighter fluid
Question: Is this a pipe lighter
Answer: No. This is a regular zippo with the small holes, not a pipe lighter with the bigger side holes in it.
Question: Can I remove the wood to engrave? If not, do you know the thickness of the wood
Answer: The wood is definitely removable but it might be fragile, as it’s only about 1mm in thickness. The grain would also mean it could crack easy. I would say send the whole unit.

User questions & answers

Question: Is the Zippo lighter allowed to be taken in the airplane (in the suitcase
Answer: If you search the web for `tsa lighter`, the first results from the TSA-dot-gov website say "yes" for carry-on, "yes (but)" for checked. Full statement reads: "Disposable and Zippo lighters without fuel are allowed in checked bags. Lighters with fuel are prohibited in checked bags, unless they adhere to the Department of Transportation exemption, which allows up to two fueled lighters if properly enclosed in a DOT approved case."
Question: Does it has lighter fluid in
Answer: No. You will have to buy ronsonol lighter fluid for it.
Question: Does the solid brass version actually have 'Solid Brass' written on it like pictured
Answer: the solid brass one is much higher quality than the brass plated one. i own both and the brass one is the only one i use. as far as the words engraved on it...you can barely tell theyre there in the first place and after a few months they have blended right in due to scratching anyways. ill take the writing and a better quality zippo over no writing and what i know to be a lesser build.
Question: whats the differences between 'armor' high polished and high polished
Answer: 'ARMOR' high Polish is much heavier gauge brass, much heavier❗️

  • Made of highest quality material
  • Manufacturer: Zippo
  • Zippo slim high Polished chrome
  • In ancient times, the Keeper of the Flame was an esteemed member of the community. Over the years, however, generating a flame has become easier and quicker. Nonetheless, having quick access to a flame is still considered a privilege

User questions & answers

Question: Does the linen weave model have the same pattern on the sides as on the front
Answer: Yes it does.
Question: is it original zippo
Answer: Yes authentic zippo made in the USA
Question: Is this a mirror polish? Would I be able to accurately see my reflection in it, as I want to also use it as a mirror
Answer: This heavy-duty Zippo lighter (known as Armor) is highly polished Chrome. You could use this as a reflector of sun to signal somebody, but honestly it is not a mirror. Highly recommend you consider purchasing a small rectangular travel mirror in a padded case. I bought this lighter for emergency use, keeping it boxed in my car's glove compartment and refilling it 1st of every month with Ronson lighter fluid. A small price to pay if I ever became stranded in a snowstorm, severe rainstorm, or other adverse weather conditions. If you contact Zippo Corp. in Bradford, Pa. they will be happy to inform you if they have a mirrored finish front Zippo lighter available, or at extra cost they will make one to your specs.
Question: does it come with lighter fluid, or does it come pre filled
Answer: It is sold empty and you will need to buy lighter fluid separately. A filled lighter should last a month unused and two weeks depending on usage. They are easy to refill, just take the top off and fill with your preferred fluid. Also, is best to buy the flints and wicks upfront so you are covered when the need arises.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this arrive fueled
Answer: No, it does not arrive fueled.
Question: My new insert lights up but the flame never lasts for more than half a second and just gone. Why is that happening
Answer: I have the single torch insert and had almost the same issue, my flame would last maybe 2 seconds then go out. I was all set to return it, but I thought maybe it needs a good purge? It wouldn't hurt to try, so i vented the insert completely, waited a couple seconds and vented again and repeated this process until i couldn't hear any more pressure venting off. I then filled with the same butane canister I had already been using (not the high-priced Zippo butane, but Vector 14, which has never given me any problems). Just like magic - it works like it should now, and has ever since (at least 15 refills later). Long story short: Vent it completely, vent it some more, vent it again until no more butane/inerts/whatever gasses off and refill - it fixed my hard-to-light, short-burning-flame insert. Very happy with the single torch. I've also got the double torch, not so pleased with it - i got it to act like it should after purging, but the dual flames burn through the butane faster. Why, I'd bet it's almost twice as fast.
Question: Do I need to use zippo brand butane or can I use another brand such as Newport
Answer: Newport is the purest butane widely available. You definitely won't have any trouble with it. Vector has the best detergents in it. You can't go wrong with either. If Ronson is a recommended brand, you shouldn't have any trouble with any brand (Ronson is the dirtiest butane I've ever used). That being said, I recommend Neon 750. There isn't a better bargain butane. It's about 250% the size of regular butane cans and costs $3 and change... Fantastic deal
Question: Where is the zippo insert made
Answer: Our butane and arc inserts are manufactured to high Zippo standards in China.
