Answer:	"Septic safe" on the box means it won't corrode pipes and concrete (tank). That misses the essential element, will it disturb the ecology of the tank (kill the bacteria that are essential for septic operation). Caustic materials like drain cleaner are very bad for your septic, bleach not so bad probably because of the dilution in the washer. I am relating here the information conveyed to me by my county department of licenses and inspection septic system expert and a licensed septic inspector. So the anlswer depends on the materials used, which are not stated anywhere. 7 months is not sufficient time to evaluate. You don't want to learn after three years that you've poisoned the system and clogged the drainage field, requiring a $8,000 to $10,000 job to replace something that should have lasted 40 years. Here's what's in it according to the safety data sheet supplied by Whirlpool via Home Depot: Polyoxy(methyl-1,2-ethanediyl), a-hydro-w-hydroxy- 1% Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate 50% - 70% Boric Acid 20% - 30% Sodium Carbonate 20% - 30% Tetrasodium EDTA 1% Most of these are found in everyday laundry detergent. Tetrasodium EDTA is a preservative. The long weird name stuff is the joker in the mix, perhaps more research is needed. I'm not sure I will risk using this in my washer, as I try to take good care of my septic system. Answer:	Since I have a Maytag HE washer and have used this product with excellent success. I would say yes. Answer:	The box does not say if any ingredients were tested on animals. The ingredients are: Sodium percarbonate, Sodium carbonate, Glucono-delta-lactone, Polyethylene glycol, Sodium acetate, and Fragrance. Affresh products are made by Whirlpool so I checked their safety data sheet (www.affresh.com/sds). The fragrance was tested using IFRA standards. Question:	When I put powder directly in the drum it falls through the holes when the drum turns, before the water starts filling. Help
Answer:	I had a 9 year old Samsung front loader that I cleaned once a month with vinegar and baking soda using the sanitize cycle. About a month ago I heard a loud bang and the drum started scraping the sides. I called the repairman and he said he thought the repair would run about $400. That was too much so I gave the machine to a guy and he took it apart and found the spider-arm (holds the drum) had shattered. That's what the repairman thought it was. The drum and spider-arm were completely covered with a mass of soap scum buildup. So I would say Vinegar does not help AT-ALL. I bought a Maytag top loader without an agitator. Answer:	I have never noticed a scent after the Affresh cycle. So it is scent free in that any residual scents or smells from a month's worth of washes are removed after the Affresh cycle. This is a good product that we have used since buying our new washing machine 2 years ago.

Answer:	The main ingredients are sodium percarbonate and sodium carbonate. Both ingredients are considered fairly eco friendly. Sodium percarbonate has the chemical formula Na2CO3·1.5H2O2 and contains sodium, carbon, oxygen and hydrogen. It is a source of highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide. Sodium carbonate (also known as washing soda, soda ash and soda crystals), Na2CO3, is the water-soluble sodium salt of carbonic acid. Sodium carbonate is well known domestically for its everyday use as a water softener. It can be extracted from the ashes of many plants growing in sodium-rich soils, such as vegetation from the Middle East, kelp from Scotland and seaweed from Spain. Question:	Are these supposed to come in a clear plastic bag looking like a bunch of sample packets? Has anybody received these in an original box
Answer:	Mine did not come in a box. They feel like they’ve been sitting, open in a drawer somewhere and then put in a plastic bag and sold. Not as pictured and the packaging is tattered. But the product works.

Answer:	On the box it says "Safe for septic tanks"
Question:	Can we use this with cold water? I have a portable washer that only has cold water option
Answer:	The manufacturer recommends hot water, I always run on the sanitary cycle to clean which is very hot water. I am sure you could use cold water I doubt it would clean as well, but if that is your only option, not much choice!
Question:	What water level do i use
Answer:	Mine is a front loading machine and has a sanitary cycle. If I were using a top loader I would do hot water and a full level for water.

This product is a powder. 1) For all machines, remove clothing or other items from the washer. 2) Open one pouch of OxiClean Washing Machine Cleaner, and pour into the washer drum. Note: Do not add any detergent to this cycle. 3) Select the Clean Washer Cycle Note: If washer does not have Clean Washer Cycle, add OxiClean Washing Machine Cleaner to drum and run a normal cycle using hot water. 4) Start the machine. 5) After cycle is complete, wipe any residue that may be left behind with a towel including on drum, door, rubber gaskets, and seals.
