Answer:	The hue hub directly controls the bulbs (one hue hub can control 50? bulbs). Alexa can install a “skill” (an app/program) that communicates with the hue hub. The end result: You say “alexa turn on bedroom light", Alexa passes the request to the hue hub, hub turns the light on, Alexa gets a reply that the request was fulfilled and lights are on. You can control the hue hub directly with an app, or you can use an apple or google smart device to do the same thing that alexa does.

Answer:	I have an Echo dot gen 3 and purchased these bulbs last month. Got them connected easily and they worked for 3 weeks and now Alexa cannot discover them. I tried to leave a review on my purchase, but the message says they’ve noticed unusual reviews on this product so they won’t let me leave one. Guess everyone is having the same issue.

Answer:	Just got these for Prime Day deal. You need a hub to take full advantage of voice control (Alexa/Google). Otherwise, you need to set them up via Bluetooth for Alexa which means the Echo device needs to be within 30 feet of the lights. Even my Echo Dot 4 feet away from the lights, the operation of the bulbs is hit and miss. Worked bout 85% of the time. The rest of the time the Echo said it couldn't communicate with the lights. You can also use the Philips Hue (Bluetooth) app. For the price, I really was not impressed with the functionality of them. Also purchased some LOHAS Smart LED bulbs (got 3 bulbs for the price of these 2) and those work great. The LOHAS are both Bluetooth and Wifi, with no hub needed at all. Cant really recommend the Philips as I don't want to purchase a hub. Will most likely return these as the LOHAS bulbs work way better.

Answer:	I have one that came with my Echo Show 10, it paired with the Echo Show and the other Echos can control it no issue. But you have to have an Echo with Zigbee function - that means the older Echo Plus, or the new 4th gen Echo or an Echo Show 10. If not, you'll need to use Hue's hub and use the Hue skill to link to your Alexa network. Of the choices, I recommend the show, because it gives you visuals when installing. however most my smart devices are wifi using the Smart Life app and intergrate using that skill.

You can’t compare light bulbs watt for watt if you’re interested in brightness. It’s all about the lumens.

The brightness of Edison bulbs is not as much as their traditional incandescent equivalents. This is desirable and intentional.

If a 60 watt Edison Bulb provided the same amount of light as a typical incandescent, the filament would be too bright to look at and appreciate.

Notes on compatible lighting fixtures

When you’re buying a new fixture, take a close look at the dimensions of the fixture.

For sconces, pay attention to the distance from the junction box mounting to the top of the shade or fixture. Make sure you have clearance in the location for the sconce, taking heat from the light into consideration.

For pendant lights and chandeliers, pay attention to the drop length of the pendant, or the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the light.

For a work surface like a desk, you want 2-3 feet from the surface to the light.

For a dining table, you want about 3 feet.

For a kitchen island, the light can be higher, but keep in mind you lose the effectiveness of the light if it’s too high.

Answer:	It should. I had problems with the one I had trying to find bulbs that worked. LED lights wouldn't work. This one said replacement for incandescent so I tried them and they do work.

Answer:	While there may be a halogen bulb available that fits 3-way sockets, I don't believe this specific "dimmable" product will do so.

Answer:	Presumably by asking if they are teflon coated you are asking if they are shatter proof, some times silicone is used is why I say this. The packaging does not specify shatter proof.

Answer:	There are 4 types of lightbulbs that are typically offered: incandescent (the normal, standard old-style lightbulb. Gets hot, uses more energy, but has the most normal light.) Halogen (this kind of bulb, also pretty natural light. Uses less energy, still gets hot.). Fluorescent (horrible light quality, can trigger migraines, low energy, lasts a long time, and doesn’t get very hot.) LED (lasts a long time, ok light quality, but can also trigger migraines, doesn’t get very hot. Very low energy usage.)

Answer:	i have a similar situation---with different bulbs. in my bathroom, i have two lights over the two sinks. if i use two led lights, they are on low even with the switch in the off position. i "fixed" this problem by keeping an incandescent light in the socket closest to the switch. i have these edison bulbs in a ceiling light, and they do not stay on when the switch is off. since they are incandescent, you should not be having this problem, unless you are mixing them with a led light in some way in this circuit.
Question:	can they be used on a touch base lamp
Answer:	It's golden but once it's in the socket you won't see the base.
Question:	How long do these bulbs last on average
Answer:	E26 is the base and ST-18 is the bulb style.
