Answer:	Yes, it slips on pretty easily, I don't need a shoe horn with this shoe. The pull tab isn't very big but mine fit loosely enough that I can pretty much just slide into them without having to use the pull tab, I just pull the entire back part of the shoe back a little and slide foot in.

However, Flame Retardant treatment is still a federal standard and law that we must abide by and until there is a change in statues, it will be very difficult and in many cases impossible to find tents not treated with some sort of Flame Retardant mixture. Answer:	I would think about 1/ 8 of an in. The picture makes it look as if they are that same height in the whole inside they are not, they curve up on the sides to fit your foot and shoe with more support. I wear them with boots and gym shoes just fine. But if I put them in lower shoes I feel the shoes are to short and not the right fit. Make sure you remove your old insert first or may be to high.
