Answer:	Yes, I've worn them for sleeping for a few years now due to noisy neighbors. They are comfortable with multi-hour use; sometimes a new pair can seem a bit large when first worn (hurting my ear a bit, but I have small ears). If this happens, I just pull them out a bit and all is well. And they do stay in all night if you insert them according to the directions on the package (pull ear up and back, roll the plug tightly and insert). I don't know what I'd do without these, they are a lifesaver as far as my sleep!

Answer:	Having bought a number of LED headlamps, brightness is important. First, 360 over 315 or even 260 isn't a big draw. Second, the important factors are reliability and battery life. Some manufacturers do better than others, top ones Petzl and Black Diamond ... similar to LED household bulb efficiencies (lumens/watt). But let's say they are all equal in efficiency. This means a 360 lumen lamp will use much more than a 260, so if the 260 is 'plenty good', fewer batteries to buy. Think of this as a battery eater ... like razor blades, film (dating myself), printer cartridges. It may not be the razor or camera that is the dollar drain, it's the batteries. Even if you buy a 360, it should have a lower setting that is usable because your batteries will be eaten slower.

The X-Series earmuffs are 3M’s latest advancement in hearing conservation. New technologies in comfort, design and protection all come together in this groundbreaking earmuff line. The X3A earmuffs offer a NRR (28 dB) which makes them ideal for moderate to high noise situations. The X3A features a newly designed spacer to help improve attenuation without the need for a much larger cup or double cup design. This lightweight earmuff is designed for protection against high H-level industrial noise and other loud sounds. It features an electrically insulated wire headband, often referred to as “dielectric”. When correctly selected and worn, these products help reduce exposure to hazardous levels of noise. 3M PELTOR HYX3 Hygiene Kit offer replaceable ear cushions and foam liners to help keep your earmuffs clean and extend the service life. The 3M PELTOR X Series earmuffs are ideal for protection against noise arising from a wide range of applications in the workplace. Examples of typical applications include: metal processing, automotive, airports, construction, textile manufacturing, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, cement manufacturing, printing, woodworking, heavy engineering, foundry, steelworks, and mining and quarrying. NOTE: The X-Series (over-the-head) headband version is electrically insulated -sometimes referred to as “dielectric”. The metal components of the headband have been covered by non-conductive material for use in a low voltage electrical hazard (less than 440 V ac). As there are no applicable standards for testing ear muffs against electrical insulating properties, the product has been evaluated at an external laboratory against a modified test method based on EN397: 1995. During assessment, the leakage current did not exceed 1. 2mA when the external surface of the product made contact with an electrical source. The user must determine the overall suitability of this product for the intended application taking into account all relevant hazards. Question:	i have seen different sound cancellation levels for these earmuffs and wonder which one would be best - primarily for woodworking (large table saw etc
Answer:	I would think that you would want one that supports up to 22db or higher.
Question:	Will these work for a 7 year old at a fireworks display. My child can't tolerate the noise
Answer:	Voices can still be heard wearing these. Research the decibel levels of fireworks, voice, and the level these block out. The child could wear foam earplugs inside the ear in addition to these to block out more noise. Wearing for long periods of time on a warm day makes sweat pool somewhat. They do have some weight to them. I would guess that if the 7 year old is very sensitive to sound, he or she would not like wearing them for more than a few minutes because of the slight weight, potential sweat factor, and having to wear ear plugs in the ear too.
Question:	Can pads and foam inserts be washed and reused? Instructions say wash outside only, and re-purchase new pads and foam inserts ($11.72) twice per year
Answer:	You can certainly wash the dampers/foam padding. Just use soap and water on the ear seals/ cushions. I've washed my foam padding many times. Just don't submerge the ear seals/cushions.
Question:	Would these work for a drummer
Answer:	They might work a little too well. I use mine in my shop and although they do not totally block out the noise from my machines, in my opinion they would block too much for a musician. Unless you are planted in front of an amp-stack you may not hear enough of your group to play well. On the other hand, if you are in a room alone practicing for hours on end, they might be just the ticket to save your ears.
