Answer:	You should not bump to anything by Pet Safe don't buy one of these you will be sorely disappointed. Take it from someone who knows. The flaps fly open in the wind the safety door will not stay on and it doesn't take a very big dog to push it off. The one I had, (before I broke it into little bits with a hammer,) the safety door would just blow off in the wind. Look elsewhere NOT a Pet Safe door because their non customer service acts real nice at first, don't let em fool you... they won't help.

Just be sure youget the right size for your pet, we have a 22lb cat and had to get a medium door for him to actually fit through. They seemto run a bit small on the inside dimensions, so be sure and measure your pet!

Answer:	yes. the sliding doors in on the inside and has a latch to hold it down. You must press the latch and pull up to lease door

Answer:	The total height is right at 13.5" and that is because it angles up and down slightly from the opening. We have had ours for about two months now and we love it for our two cats, it is a life saver!

Answer:	It can slide down on either the inside or the outside! I've thought of getting an additional slide piece to more effectively block door off.
Question:	Can you lock the panel so it can not be removed from the outside
Answer:	The door panel fits on both the inside and the outside. If you put it on the inside of the house, then it can NOT be removed because it clicks into place and to remove it you have to take your thumb and fore-finger and squeeze the latch release in order to release the latch lock and to raise the door. Ideally for super weather protection I am going to buy another door for the outside so for SEVERE WEATHER AND SUPER HIGH TORNADO WINDS - I can have a door on both sides - the outside and the inside - even if the outside can be removed. (I live in Tornado Alley) P.S. Even in 30 mph winds so far - neither of the door flaps have come open and or leaked. 1. Draw outline on the paper board

Draw the cat door frame on a paper board and cut it down.

Note:

You had better prepare these necessary tools first, pencil, ruller, electric saw, drill, screwdriver, double-side tape.

2. Draw outline on the door

Use a pencil draw around the edge of the cut paper on the door you want to be fixed to.

Note:

Generally, average installation height is around 10-15 cm from the floor.

3. Drill 4 corners for holes

Drill 4 corners for thorough holes first with an electric drill.

4. Cut out a tunnel hole

Cut out the tunnel hole with an electric saw starting at holes drilled.

5.Put the cat door in the door

After the tunnel hole is cut out, it's better to wrap around it with a layer of wood skin. And if your hole is cutting a little big, it's quite neccessary.

6. Cut down tunnel depth if necessary

If the cat door is too thick for your door, use a scissors or cutting machine to cut down some part of tunnel along the line A or B. The cutting scale is about 2-4CM.

7.Mount to the door

Mount the cat door with double-side tape to the door. 8 screws for 4 holes on both sides, screw them all in 2 sides as illustration shown above, please. These 8 screws are designed to work together, they are not short.

8. Done

Place screw caps over the screw holes, press them on. The installation is completely done.

Answer:	Thank you for your question! The Wall Entry Pet Door is designed for installation into walls with a thickness of 4.75"-7.25", so would be too wide to fit into a 4" wall. While it may be possible to cut the tunnel to fit, we'd be unable to recommend this as it has not been tested and could affect the way the door works.
Question:	What are the dimensions of the cut out hole for the large size? I want to make the cuts this weekend but my door won’t arrive for a few days
Answer:	Thank you for your great question! The door likely will not fit for your wall because it is slightly too narrow; however, one thing you can do is use wooden planks to frame-out your cutout in the wall. This will slightly widen your wall so that the pet door frame can fit more comfortably.
Question:	can the, telescoping tunnel be cut to fit 4 in. wall thickness
Answer:	These outdoor light fixtures use the same type bulbs that you would put in a standard indoor table lamp, either incandescent or LED. I have two of the Emliviar fixtures on my back deck and am using frosted 60 watt bulbs in mine. I tried 100 watt but they were too bright as the glass exterior on the fixtures lets out a lot of light. I'm quite pleased with these fixtures, especially at the price.

Answer:	Your question is difficult to answer. Do you mean your current opening is 6 1/4 X 6 1/4 ? If so, it should work. You might have to trim door for perfect fit.

Answer:	Funny you should ask that now. I am in Western NY State and the answer is....YES. We have it mounted in the side of an unheated shed. Maybe if the room on one side is heated it might not freeze but I would not count on it. These doors have a fine fur or hair like coating along the surfaces that come together. This is supposed too keep the cold air out but in climates where you have freezing temps they just collect moisture and then freeze together. Our cats cannot get them open when this happens so I will be getting a differently constructed one to replace the ones I have now. The screws that come with these doors really suck as well.

Answer:	It’s very sturdy. I’ve had mine several months and it’s held up very well.
Question:	The door on the apartment measures 91 inches; is there something that would add on to this to make it fit
Answer:	It can accomodate a 1 1/4" thick door. It comes with a template for cutting the hole, and rubber gaskets to seal it. Once the hole in the door is cut, installation is simple, The two halves fit together ( one on either side of the door) and four corner screws (supplied) completes the installation). The two halved fit together to seal the hole in the door. Pretty neat. My only problem was cutting a good looking hole in the door (quickly fixed with the right saw). Two pushes, and the cat used it right away/

Answer:	This door can be installed into materials that are 0" - 2" in thickness, so as long as the door is within that range it should work.

Question:	What is the door liner for
Answer:	If want to install the flap into a hollow core door, the liner will make a nice smooth finish around the edges of the hole so you cannot see into the door itself. There are videos on youtube that show how to install it. That maybe helpful if you are still not sure.
Question:	Does this door come with magnets to put on the cats collars that open the locks? How many does it come with
Answer:	There are no magnets. Someone has to lock and unlock the door. The locking mechanism is to keep the cat(s) in or out of an area. I leave the door unlocked always and they just push it open from either side.

Answer:	Well, there are two different answers here so it's apparently not that simple. There is a picture that shows the width but no height. The dimensions in the description are sometimes the package dimensions, not the actual product. It seems like I'll be skipping this one anyway from some of the other reviews but don't assume we didn't look for dimensions. Sometimes it pays to ask.

Answer:	I'm glad to know that replacing the flap is possible! I've had this same cat door for 10 years and the cats finally managed to break one of the corners the original door flap so all I want to do is replace the flap. Also, for anyone who is interested, my cat door was put into my garage door (because that's the only way to get in and out of the garage.....there is no side door), and I've had absolutely no issues with it being an 'outside' door. The cats have their 'cat condos' set up inside the garage for safety/cover from inclimate weather and also their freedom to go outside and wander. It's been a perfect arrangement for a decade now and the frame of this cat door is as sturdy now as it was when it was installed! Just be prepared to replace the flap if the cat wants to attempt to bring a 'prize rabbit' through the door and it causes the flap to break off ;-)

Answer:	I don't believe they need a key. But it does have a retina scanner. This is to keep stray cats out. However... it was rather difficult to hold my cat still long enough to complete the scan. So she can only get in half the time.

Answer:	No, you can't lock the patio door, I have the same issue. The doggie door sits right in the path of the patio door on the door track and thus prohibits the door from being locked, And yes, it does come with a cover to prevent your pets from coming in/going out

Answer:	Hi Donna - There is four and one half inches from the floor to the bottom of the flap. We were worried about that, too, since we have two Chihuahuas along with an Italian Greyhound mix and now our new rescue, Belgian Malinois (will be very big). There was NO problem at all! We put the door in and they all went through it! It's a great door. We are very happy!
Question:	Can it be easily and quickly removed
Answer:	Although the intent is to screw it in with 3 or 4 screws and use the lock provided, we have not done that. We use a bar in the sliding door track to "lock" the door if we want to leave the pet door in place over night. It is easy to remove it since the spring loaded top segment holds it securely in, but can be lifted out easily if we want to be gone for a few days.

Answer:	Hello, Rose! This door is designed to be semi-permanent. It can be placed in, and removed from, the door track easily though. However, if you choose to not secure it to the door frame, you will not be able to use the lock feature. The door frame will be stationary during use, but the flexible vinyl flap will move as your pet goes through. Additionally, nothing about the door should inherently cause interference with your security system. If this is a concern, it may be best to speak with your security system provider though.
Question:	My wall thickness is 7 1/2", can this work still by just not sliding it completely together

Measuring Your Pet

Measuring your pet's height correctly is crucial in ensuring you purchase a flap that your pet can comfortably use for their entire life.

You need to keep in mind how high off the ground the pet door will be installed, this space between the ground and the bottom of the flap is called the Step Over. The Step Over should be as low as possible for your dog or cat to go through comfortably, this will make it easier for them as they get older.

The Distance from the Floor to the Top of the Flap should be at least 1" higher than the tallest point of your pet's back.

Step Over + Flap Height = At least 1" higher than the tallest point of pet's back.

We recommend replicating the dimensions of your planned pet door installation on cardboard and seeing if your pet can comfortably go through it.
