    Answer: They are no different than the larger pads, with a powdered soap activated when wet. The benefit is that you throw it away, and it doesn't sit and rust.

    Answer: Yes, you will find these are smaller pads, about half the size. When I use SOS pads, I typically throw away a large portion of an unused pad with rust in them - these are smaller and great for a single use - no left over mess.
