Answer:	As others, yes! However,using the 2700x for encodes is fast but not happy with temps with stock Wraith cooler, with all cores at 100%. CPU at 95.1C (Tctl) or 85.1C (Tdie), your choice. The stock fan has a down flow so was cooking MB, RAM and 970 Evo+ located right below the Wraith cooler. I changed out fan only for encodes, ymmv.

Answer:	I don't have this exact processor, but I've installed 3 Ryzen processors with similar heat sinks and they all came with generously applied thermal paste that looks high quality (Artic Silver like). It is not a crappy almost rubber type thermal pad. You won't need to replace it unless you really messed up.

Answer:	Yes, you absolutely need a GPU. Ryzen processors that do not have the letter "G" in the model number (like Ryzen 5-3200G) DO NOT have graphics built-in. Also, this CPU is a mid-level powerful one, with a lot of capability, so don't go cheap on the video card, or you will have wasted your $175 on this processor when a $115 processor would have been okay. The CPU, the GPU, the motherboard, and the DRAM modules all have to work together as a team, and if they don't have similar specifications as to throughput capability, the overall performance of the computer will suffer. The AMD website shows the memory channel speed is 3200 mhz for this CPU, so don't buy DRAM modules that are slower than 3200 mhz. Make sure that the MoBo you buy has a BIOS and chipset that supports this CPU and 3200 mhz DDR4 DRAM. If you are not sure about how to pick and choose the components for yourself, look at "bundles" that include the CPU, MoBo, and DRAM; that way you know that someone has determined that at least those three components will work together. Answer:	I have this exact motherboard and I have the Ryzen 5 3600 running on it smoothly. To get it to work you will first need to update your motherboard's firmware first. So you will need a 1st gen or 2nd gen Ryzen CPU to update the BIOS. Also, before you do that you also want to install the latest AMD chipset drivers before you update the firmware. So you do it in this order.... 1) Go to AMD's website. Download and install the lastest AMD chipset driver (that chipset driver works for every generation of AMD Ryzen CPUs). 2) Go to ASUS' website and download the lastest firmware. Install the firmware with your Gen 1 or Gen 2 Ryzen CPU in your motherboard. 3) Now you can put in your Ryzen 3rd gen (Zen 2) processor in your motherboard and it will work.

Answer:	That's a very fair question considering the last iteration Ryzen 7 3700X came with a nice heatsink/fan which I own and am still using successfully. AMD was still considered the underdog last time round and so they felt they needed to give consumers the best value, now that AMD holds the brass ring they dont need to offer those same thrills any longer.
