Answer:	You will need the NMEA connections. I bought the NMEA starter kit which came with all needed. Never got my Yamaha 200hp to work with my HDS5. Had a lot of other issues with the HDS5 and ended up changing it to a Garmin 720S. Running the same NMEA kit and this cable to my Garmin and it works great. So the cable is working as promised, good luck with your HDS7. I was on my 3 HDS5 with issues when I had it and changed to Garmin. But I do miss the strukture scan.

When I did it, the transfer process went smoothly. I have a Mac and I transferred the pics to my Photo Library.As to your second question, I do not believe that you can charge the battery with the interface cable. My camera package included the following items: Canon PowerShot SX720 HS, Battery Charger CB-2LH, Battery Pack NB-13L, and Wrist Strap. The package did not include the interface cable, which I had to buy separately. I suggest that you use the battery charger that came with your package to charge the battery.I hope that you find this information useful. Good luck!
