Answer:	My lid also has two vents holes. Previous crock pots that I have owned also had 1-2 vent holes. I think this is a common part of the design.

Answer:	I had a roast in this for several hours and stuck a thermometer into the roast and it read 180 degrees. There was no burning whatsoever and the roast came out amazing. It does take a very long time, though, at least 8 hours. I tried to take the roast out earlier and it was too tough, but putting it back in for the 8 hours made it much more tender.

Question:	Are there heating elements on the sides as well as the bottom
Answer:	It doesn't rattle. But I've found water will collect there after condensing on the lid. If you're using a crockpot liner, then this can allow for some seepage under the seal. Occasionally, using a liner and simmering bone broth for more than a day, I will find a puddle of water dripping from the liner in the morning. I usually turn my liners up, back over the lid, to avoid this.

However, if you go to crock-pot dot com and click Parts and Support at the top, enter the model number SCCPVL610-S, I found the lid for $12. You can buy the stoneware for $15. However, I tried the 'Add to Cart' link, but couldn't find the cart or a way to 'proceed to checkout'. So, I clicked on 'CONTACT FORM' button just to the right of those cart links. Lo and behold, in the upper right-hand corner was the 'My Cart' link. Looks like their website could use a little bit of work! ;- } Bottom line: lid plus shipping and tax was about $22 to my city.

Answer:	I would think most crock pots if not all, intentionally do not have clocks so you can delay start up times. Why is that? It's about food safety. Crock pots are primarily used for meals that contain meat in the recipe. Leaving meat out at room temperature for 2 hours or more is a recipe for food poisoning at best.

Answer:	Depends on whether the chicken fights back...if you're quick and can slam the lid down and get your hand out, it shouldn't be a problem.

Our clay pots do not retain flavors or odors after cooking, and we regularly make lots of different things in the same clay pot, including strong meals like lamb stew, followed by yogurt or white rice (after washing, of course), and there is absolutely no flavor transfer. Our high-temperature water-glazing process, using only water and 2500+ degree heat, seals the clay against any type of food/flavor/scent transfer, and also strengthens the clay a great deal to prevent breakage.
Question:	where is it made
Answer:	Well mine has a hairline crack too. I added more tap water to an already hot pot and it cracked halfway across the bottom. Yes they have replacement pots, but you have to buy the lid too. The replacements only come in sets. Depending on how long you have had the pot will depend on the price. They will give a certain percentage off depending on how many months you had the pot before it got damaged. My quote was $20.00 pot + $20.00 shipping. They also want a picture of your cracked pot. If you are extremely careful with this pot it makes great food, but the clay is delicate. Mine sits in my closet still cracked :( I just use other healthy cookware on the stovetop for now.
Question:	Does it brown food
Answer:	This VitaClay has 3 temperature settings, Yogurt, Low and High. The yogurt setting maintains a temperature of about 110- 115 degrees. There is no way to make this machine maintain a specific temperature. Low is not much higher than the Yogurt setting and high is below boiling.Thank you for asking VeggieSensations. Question:	is this slow cooker insert lead free
Answer:	I have a multi-cooker (vm7900-6) and I've been using it about 7-8 years. I love it. Everything tastes better when make it in this thing, and everything is easy to make. You can make anything in here: yogurt, stew, soup, broth, rice, quinoa, steel cut oats, steam anything, heat anything up.... pretty much all-inclusive except for baking. The thing I like about the multi-cooker (oval model) is that it's got the yogurt maker, and yogurt made in clay is really like no other yogurt, plus you can make it for pennies on the dollar rather than buying it in the store. I also like the delay timer on it, when i cook steel cut oats I set it to start cooking about an hour before I wake up and it's hot and ready when I wake up! Otherwise you have to wait like an hour for those things to be fully cooked. I also like the "reheat" feature, which I don't think the other one has. Just pop in some soup or something you want to steam, press "reheat," and it's ready 5-10 minutes later. I don't use a microwave so this feature is handy for me.

Answer:	I assume it is normal. I have a little room (maybe 1/2 inch) that enables it to move left and right. It does not affect the performance of the cooker.

Answer:	Yes, this slow cooker does brown food. I'll often use it to sear meat prior to putting in other ingredients like veggies and sauces.

Answer:	No, it seems it's not lead free. Testing found lead at 386 ppm -- http://tamararubin.com/2017/01/slow-cooker/ . I wish I saw that before I bought this thing a couple weeks ago. Ridiculous.
