Answer:	It depends where you purchase it from. It you buy it from Amazon USA then it will not have the map of Europe. But if you buy it from Amazon UK then it will have it. I believe you can also purchase the Europe map seperately and download it before heading out for Europe. The unit has 4 GB memory. You can delete and install the new Europe map after downloading it in your computer from Tomtom website. Thanks.

To be clear, your smartphone is NOT required for navigation purposes at all, it is only used when gathering traffic information in your area. You do not need to be connected to a smartphone to use the GPS and navigation features, it's only if you want the latest traffic information while driving.Depending on your cellular provider your coverage may vary by location. However, the GO device updates the latest traffic in your area every 2 minutes. Therefore, if you happen to be driving in an area where cellular service is going in and out, you might not even notice since your device will still have the last traffic information it received and will get the latest update once your phone connects again. The GO device will provide you a picture of the traffic within a 1 hour drive, and provide you a route around it (i.e. the fastest route) whenever there is traffic between you and your destination. The GO 500 includes a lifetime subscription to TomTom Traffic so you'll never have to worry about paying for this advanced traffic service in the future. Answer:	The data connection to your phone via Bluetooth is used to update your itinerary with current traffic conditions (and reroute if necessary/feasible). That means that if you terminate the data connection, current traffic is no longer displayed on the TomTom and not used for routing. The idea behind it is really to leave the data connection on throughout your trip. To what extent traffic conditions are factored in during initial routing (instead of live traffic conditions during the drive) I don't know. Because they are ongoing, how much data is used by the traffic updates, would depend on the length of your trip. I used the feature recently on a 1,400-mile trip, and total mobile data usage for the TomTom was 1.13 MB.

Answer:	I myself would be leery of buying a tomtom which is already registered to someone else's email address. I own 3 older model tomtom GPS units and each one had to be registered to a different email address. I don't know for sure but transferring to a different email address may lose the Lifetime Map and Lifetime Traffic features for you. I would research tomtom's website about "transferring email addresses" BEFORE purchasing.
