8 best receiver surround sounds
A surround sound receiver, often referred to simply as an AV receiver (audio/video receiver), is a crucial component in a home theater system. It plays a central role in processing and amplifying audio signals from various sources, such as Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, cable or satellite boxes, and streaming devices, and distributing them to a surround sound speaker setup. Here are some key points related to surround sound receivers:
Audio Processing: An AV receiver decodes and processes audio signals to provide multi-channel sound, including Dolby Digital, DTS (Digital Theater Systems), and other audio formats. This processing enables the creation of immersive surround sound experiences.
Amplification: AV receivers have built-in amplifiers that power the speakers in your home theater system. The number of channels and power output per channel vary depending on the receiver's specifications. Common configurations include 5.1, 7.1, 9.1, and even 11.2 channels.
Surround Sound Formats: AV receivers support various surround sound formats, including 5.1-channel (e.g., front left, front center, front right, rear left, rear right, and subwoofer), 7.1-channel (adds rear surround speakers), and more advanced configurations like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, which incorporate height channels for a more immersive 3D sound experience.
Inputs and Outputs: AV receivers come equipped with a range of input and output options to connect multiple audio and video sources. These include HDMI inputs for Blu-ray players and gaming consoles, analog and digital audio inputs, and video switching capabilities to route video signals to your TV or projector.
Video Processing: Many modern AV receivers also offer video upscaling and pass-through capabilities. This means they can upscale lower-resolution video signals to match your TV's native resolution and pass through 4K and HDR content without loss of quality.
Calibration and Room Correction: Some AV receivers feature automated room calibration systems, such as Audyssey or Yamaha's YPAO, which measure your room's acoustics and adjust the speaker settings to optimize audio quality for your specific space.
Streaming and Network Connectivity: Many AV receivers now include network connectivity and support for streaming services like Spotify, Pandora, and TIDAL. They may also have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi capabilities for wireless audio streaming from smartphones and other devices.
Remote Control and User Interface: AV receivers often come with remote controls and user-friendly on-screen menus that make it easy to adjust settings and switch between audio sources.
Compatibility: When choosing an AV receiver, it's important to ensure it's compatible with your existing home theater equipment, including speakers, TV, and source components. It should also support the audio and video formats you plan to use.
In summary, an AV receiver is a crucial component in a home theater system, responsible for processing and amplifying audio signals and ensuring a high-quality surround sound experience. It serves as the hub for connecting various audio and video sources and plays a significant role in creating an immersive home entertainment environment.

Question: | Can anyone tell me the true about this item?.., I´d like to buy it..but reading the customer reviews... I have to think twice |
Answer: | I have not heard a 3500, and I own a 4500. Looks like the 3500 does not have AL32 processing, which is significant imo. Also the 3500 will not get the "IMAX Enhanced" certification & modes coming to the X4500 and 6500 (no one knows if those are any good, but worth noting). --- Upgrading from the X3500H adds: 2 additional on board amps for 9CH on board processing (ie. 7.1.2 or 5.1.4; with capability to expand to 11CH processing (ie. 7.1.4) using an external 2CH amp), 11.2 main zone pre-outs, Zone 3 (same inputs as Zone 2 except not HDMI), a 2nd 12v trigger, front panel display of speaker inputs (or outputs), metal front panel with 2 line display, Custom 2 CH main zone settings (using FL/FR or dedicated Front B; LARGE/SMALL; crossover settings, sub – on/off, distance, level), two internal cooling fans, Auro 3D/Auromatic, AL32 Processing, Bass Sync; Remote Control able to store preset codes from other mfr devices (see below) and the ability to add Auro 3D Voice of God/Top Surround via the Subwoofer pre-out 2 only. Audyssey (but not Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, LFC) enabled when DTS Virtual:X is selected. --- |
Question: | Is this or is it not a 5 channel surround sound unit |
Answer: | Will not pass through 4k @ 120Hz or 8k @ 60Hz do to a bottleneck of the Panasonic chip used. This impacts the all the 2020 Denon AVRs and most mfg claiming HDMI 2.1 compatible. The work around us to connect your pc or console directly to your HDMI 2.1 TV and use the TVs eARC back to the AVR. Even then not all TVs pass lossless via eARC equally. |

Our T 758 V3i is a performance update to our award-winning T 758 A/V Surround Sound Receiver and continues our ‘simple is better’ design philosophy. Our insistence on creating products with remarkable sound quality at sensible prices stands in stark contrast to our competitors who view AV components primarily from a “feature content” point-of-view, with sound quality far down the list of priorities. Yet the T 758 V3i is anything but a stripped down offering, using advanced technology and apps to make your smartphone a remote control for your NAD system. From lifelike surround sound performance to heart thumping power to reach-out-and-touch-it 4K video, the T 758 V3i is a treat for your senses! The T 758 V3i offers killer performance with the latest digital video technology, including UltraHD video at resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 frames per second with 4:4:4 colour gamut and High Dynamic Range support. Analogue video sources are also supported on HDMI for simple ‘one wire’ connection to your flat screen or projector. We leave the video processing where it belongs, in your display, avoiding multiple format conversions that plague lesser AVRs. It also includes popular HDMI features, Audio Return Channel (ARC) and Consumer Electronic Control (CEC). The T 758 V3i features built-in BluOS wireless streaming technology, letting you stream lossless music to your home theatre system from local libraries, tune in to Internet radio stations, and access popular music streaming services. You can control the music from anywhere in the house using the BluOS Controller app for smartphone, tablet and laptop, including the ability to group other BluOS compatible wireless speakers and music players with the T 758 V3i to fill every room with music.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this device support the SiriusXM internet radio |
Answer: | It does not have an input for a dedicated XM or Sirius Tuner as some earlier SONY receivers did. It has an internal input for "Music Services" but the only two supported are Chromecast and Spotify. Pretty lame. However, with the addition of another device that is capable of streaming SiriusXM (such as Sony Blu Ray player BDP-S3700), you can stream SiriusXM. If you have a good universal remote control (I am using a Harmony Ultimate), the integrated control of the receiver and streaming SiriusXM is fairly easy to program. |
Question: | Why does the manufacturer keep replying here that dolby vision is not supported? it clearly says on the sony website that dolby vision is supported |
Answer: | Hi there! We do apologize for the confusion. The Sony STRDN1080 is indeed compatible with Dolby Vision. Here is the link for more details. https://docs.sony.com/release//Help_4686526113.pdf. -Jerome |
Question: | Can i simultaneously play video from different sources on the two hdmi out ports? please do not post the link to sony's page as it does not help |
Answer: | Yes you can! I just received mine and I had seen conflicting answers on this question all across the internet. When you set the HDMI Out B to HDMI Zone, you can display and hear your computer on your main TV and your Xbox One on your gaming TV. |
Question: | How would you connect additional Dolby Atmos speakers to this, in an existing 7.1 speaker system setup |
Answer: | Dolby Atmos is a speaker configuration incorporating downward firing speakers. You would use the “height” channel speakers as the Dolby Atmos speaker channel, by either installing speakers in the ceiling, or get Dolby Atmos Projection speakers that sit on top of your front surround speakers. You may be able to rig certain speakers as downward firing speakers, however I could consult a Dolby atmos installation guide as they have all the ideal placement specifications for the ideal audio balance/ experience. Dolby Atmos In home theatres is usually a 7.1, 9.1, or 11.1 set up. With 2,4 or up to 6 speakers being placed in the downward firing position e.g ceiling mounted and facing down. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this work with Sonos speakers |
Answer: | not to my information... its for sending music ,from devices to play.. |
Question: | Can you connect a turntable to the unit without additional amplification |
Answer: | That depends on your speakers, and the room area. I have a 3-way Infinity Primes Speaker Tower, plus Center speaker, with a 150W subwoofer. I choose this receive because of budget and my room does not need a powerful Amplifier to handler. I don't make and don't like boom boom noise all day long. One thing tho, this receive max out at 35db with my setup, which is a bit lower than I expected. My room I usually run it at 25-30db and that is max out with my wife :) |

Answer: | Hi, it is mixed of metal and plastic materials. You may check other details of the unit by visiting our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PDWM2125 for more details. Thank you. |
