14 best bushnell monoculars

Bushnell monoculars are optical devices designed for magnifying distant objects using a single eyepiece. They are similar in function to binoculars but consist of only one barrel, making them more compact and lightweight. Bushnell, a well-known brand in the field of optics, produces monoculars that cater to various outdoor and recreational activities. Here are some key points about Bushnell monoculars:

  1. Compact and Portable: Bushnell monoculars are designed for portability. They are small and lightweight, making them easy to carry in a pocket, purse, or backpack. This makes them convenient for activities like hiking, birdwatching, and sporting events.

  2. Magnification: Bushnell offers monoculars with different levels of magnification, typically ranging from 8x to 10x. The magnification power determines how much closer distant objects will appear.

  3. Objective Lens Size: The size of the objective lens (the lens on the front of the monocular) affects the amount of light that enters the device. Bushnell monoculars come in various objective lens sizes, typically ranging from 25mm to 42mm. A larger objective lens allows more light to enter, resulting in brighter images.

  4. Coated Optics: Many Bushnell monoculars feature fully coated or multi-coated optics. Coated lenses help reduce glare, improve image clarity, and enhance light transmission, especially in challenging lighting conditions.

  5. Waterproof and Fog-Proof: Some Bushnell monocular models are built to be waterproof and fog-proof, making them suitable for use in wet and humid environments. This feature ensures that the internal optics remain clear and functional.

  6. Rubber Armor: Many Bushnell monoculars are equipped with a rubberized armor coating that provides durability and a secure grip.It also helps protect the monocular from minor impacts and scratches.

  7. Close Focus: Bushnell monoculars often have a close focus feature, allowing users to focus on objects at a close distance. This is useful for viewing nearby subjects in detail.

  8. Accessories: Bushnell typically includes accessories such as carrying cases, neck straps, and lens covers with their monoculars to enhance usability and protection.

  9. Price Range: Bushnell offers monoculars in a variety of price ranges, catering to both budget-conscious consumers and those looking for more advanced features and higher optical quality.

In summary, Bushnell monoculars provide a convenient and portable solution for individuals engaged in outdoor activities or in need of a compact optical device for observing distant objects. Their products are designed to offer various levels of magnification, optical coatings for improved image quality, and durability to withstand outdoor conditions. Whether for birdwatching, hiking, or general observation, Bushnell monoculars aim to deliver reliable performance in a compact package.

Observe Your Surroundings in Complete Darkness

Equipped with a powerful built-in infrared illuminator, the Bushnell Equinox Z2 Night Vision Monocular enables clear viewing in low-light conditions and even total darkness. The infrared-sensitive complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) sensor provides edge-to-edge resolution and outstanding image quality, while the fully multi-coated optics increase light transmission and decrease glare for a clear, illuminated image. With 6x magnification and a 50mm objective lens, this compact night vision monocular lets you effectively view objects up to 900 feet away in night mode when the infrared illumination level is set to high.

Record and Stream Video

Not only can you view your subject at night with the Equinox Z2 Night Vision Monocular, you can also record its image as a still photo or video clip. Simply insert a micro SD card (not included) to capture high-quality video (up to 1080p) and images and then easily upload the files to your smartphone, tablet, or computer. You can also stream live video footage via Wi-Fi using the Bushnell Equinox app, which features robust menu options for remote operation and is ideal for monitoring and controlling a tripod-mounted Equinox Z2 unit.

Comprehensive and Affordable Night Vision Solution

While night vision capabilities are extremely useful, until now, most night vision monoculars have been prohibitively expensive. The Bushnell Equinox Z2 Monocular is a robust yet cost-efficient solution for seeing clearly in the dark. Whether you’re looking to use night vision for recreational purposes like hunting, fishing, and camping, or for security and surveillance applications, the Equinox Z2 offers the comprehensive features.

User questions & answers

Question: Is there a headmount for this
Answer: It's really too big to do that. It's 8 inches long.
Question: How far out could I pick up a deer or coyote
Answer: I have not used the Vision in the field but a friend of mine did and said he could see a long way. I have only used it in my neighborhood and I could see all the way to the end of my block (long block). I would think you could see out to 100-200 yards. My friend was very impressed.
Question: What generation is this
Answer: This is a digital night vision device that uses a CCD chip to process incoming infrared light. It is not a night vision device that amplifies light using a Photocathode tube, which is usually defined by different Generations. This device uses the same technology as infrared security cameras. Comparatively though, it would fall somewhere between a Gen1 and Gen2 night vision in terms of visual quality.

User questions & answers

Question: The product I received is at customs. They asked for additional information. What is the product content
Answer: Mine came in a box with a user manual. It is an interesting monocular with good optics. The view screen is, however, kind of poor.
Question: My bushnell equinox z digital night vision monocular is not working according to instructions. where can i go to get help
Answer: I had the same issue. I was disappointed given the price and just returned it.
Question: does it have mic input
Answer: No I does not
Question: Hello can i use this for sky watching and satellites. does this light up the sky and is it gen 1. thanks steve
Answer: I don't know if the one I ordered was defective or just the way it worked but I found the distance, visibility and definition of the image to be extremely limited. Realize that the image you view is on an LCD screen in the view finder and not a true night vision optic in the traditional sense.

User questions & answers

Question: Would this be the best ops for the money? and when i attach my phone will i see the bird on the screen? if i’m bird watching
Answer: We have enjoyed using this. It is very simple and a good value. The image on the screen is clear. Not sure if it will work for something as small as a bird but it was good for a sailboat 100 yards away. Hope that helps?
Question: Is the tripod included as a part of the accessories of 12x
Answer: There was no tripod neither in advertisement, nor in package of my order. BTW, monocular itself is an almost perfect device. Best of 7 different models purchased during last four years.
Question: can you take a picture with your iPhone
Answer: Yes, you can with the attachment they include. It is a little clumsy to do so, and the picture will be round (due to the round lens of the monocular). It will also be grainy, depending on how far your subject is/how much magnification.
Question: Is this practical for star gazing/taking pictures of the moon with a phone
Answer: You should get good results with a tripod and a phone adapter. The optics are excellent.

User questions & answers

Question: How close is close focus- can you ID a butterfly in your hand
Answer: I’m not sure but I can tell you not to buy this model much less anything from atn. I was sold a defective unit and tried to claim warranty but since they no longer make this model they do not back their warranty. Very bad company
Question: Hi all, I've read many reviews, and the specs...but am still unclear about what the "close focus" is. 1 foot? 10 feet? thanks
Answer: There are two adapters available, one that mounts to a Pic rail and another that adapts to your scope. Both should include a 1x lens to replace the 3x lens that is included on the monocle. Be wary that they are hard to come by now and cost a couple hundred dollars.
Question: I have heard that 8x is easier to hold steady than 10x, but the 8x25 is only 4.2in long. Does this not also hinder holding steady
Answer: No. It has a tripod mount. It's strictly a spotting scope & does not have crosshairs.
Question: how close is close focus
Answer: Absolutely
Question: Can this be fitted on a rhino mount
Answer: No, these do not have any kind of mount. The Thor is the model that had a weapon mount.
Question: Can you adapt the ATN Night Spirit-2 Gen 2 + Night Vision Multi Purpose System to a daytime rifle scope? Thans
Answer: Yes it is. It has several different options I prefer the white hot for pigs
Question: Does this come with a picatiny mount
Answer: Animals and humans are visible out to several hundred yards but much beyond 100 yards or so they will just be a small blobs of pixels, very difficult to identify. I would say identifying a small animal like a coyote or rabbit is limited to about 50 yards or less, larger animals a bit further. Generally I would say this is a very short range thermal optic.
Question: I use this in a survival game. Can you find people hiding in the daytime forest? The temperature is 10-30 degrees
Answer: Are you hunting humans like the show the most dangerous game. If so this is cheating. Shame on you.
Question: Can i use it for rifles like ak-47 and ar
Answer: That is a hard question to answer not having a range finder on my thermal. You can see thermal signatures well over a 1000yds, but here in East Texas I don't hunt anywhere that I could view that kind of distance, however at 350 yards, I can easily determine what animal I am looking at whether it is a pig, raccoon, buck or doe, I can even see a mouse at that distance. I know that may not be the answer your looking for, but I hope it helps.
Question: Is this unit a true thermal rifle scope? With various thermal video coloring options
Answer: i believe 50hz
Question: What's the range
Answer: The specified video recording frame rate is 30 frames/second. They do not have a spec for sensor framing rate but direct viewing or reviewing video appears as good as television when viewing motion of an object.
Question: I use this in a survival game. Can you find people hiding in the daytime forest? The temperature is 10-30 degrees
Answer: It’s an internal rechargeable battery!
Question: what is the max range this can see a thermal signature ? wolf/bear/Bison @ 1500 yards
Answer: Yes, it comes with a full ATN warranty.
Question: How many hertz are in this scope
Answer: Personally no I have not used it but I have used the full X-Sight scope and find it very reliable.
Question: what Hz is it
Answer: 30mm standard rings are included with item

User questions & answers

Question: How useful is the manual
Answer: I guess its fine as manuals go. Its in English so that's a plus. It also is good if you need to start a fire or need something to read when your on the john, lots of versatility i guess.
Question: will it attach to a tripod or camera stick
Answer: Yes it will attach to a tripod, a camera stick and a rifle, see the comments section under this item at the Vortex site (www.vortexoptics.com).It may take a little work, but it's easy to make it fit a tripod and the buffer tube of an AR-15.LF
Question: have a belt clip
Answer: Yeah, a huge metal belt clip. and comes with a pouch as well. both are not very useful. But the mono itself and the R/T are awesome!
Question: Is this a range finder? Thank you
Answer: Yes, it does contain a range finder. It is an optical rangefinder based on a graduated reticle. It is not an electronic rangefinder where you press a button and get a number. To use the Vortex R/T (Ranging/Tactical), you need to know the approximate height of the object. That info, combined with the built-in reticle will give you the distance. An internet image search will give you a picture of the reticle, and several sites have info on how to use it. As an example, if a human (2 meters tall) viewed through the scope was 3 hash marks high (milliradians) then the distance would be 2 meters X 1000 / 3 (hash marks) = 666.6 meters (give or take). As a side note, I really enjoy mine, goes with me often on hikes. Well built and compact.

Built to be carried as a standard piece of equipment and close-at-hand, the Solo R/T Tactical Monocular gives a closer look when needed. Features the Vortex R/T Ranging Reticle with reticle focus for accurate range estimation and calling shots. R/T Ranging Reticle

Hashmarked ranging reticle using mrad based subtension lines for ranging, holdover, and windage corrections. Quick-ranging silhouettes. The R/T ranging reticle is based on a form of angular measurement called the milliradian (mrad for short). These angular measurements allow a user to calculate ranges when comparing the reticle to objects of known dimension. The key to effective ranging using this reticle is knowing common objects in your vicinity and their measurements.

Adjusting the Focus

Designed for quick single-handed operation, simply place the thumb and forefinger on the focus wheel and turn to move lens forward or backward.

• Top focus wheel adjusts the reticle.

• Bottom focus wheel adjusts the image.

Adjusting the Eyecup

• Flared eyecup blocks stray light when fully extended.

• Eyecup folds down for viewing with eyeglasses.
