I bought the 50 mile amplifier antenna and it did not perform the way I'd hoped it would but I think that the reason for that is that most of our towers are 50 + miles from us. I still get about 8 channels that are clear but they are not channels that we often watch. My sister-in-law bought one of these but she lives in the middle of St. Louis, Missouri and she is VERY happy with hers and I she says that she is within 6 miles or less of several towers.

Question:	Can you mount it say on a flat surface, like a fence
Answer:	Yes, it can be mounted on a vertical surface. You will need to supply your own hardware. If you are looking to attach it to an existing metal fence pole, most of them are 3" in diameter. The u-bolt supplied is not wide enough. You can buy a 3" pipe clamp/strap from the local hardware store for less that $2 that will work. That is how I have mine mounted.

Question:	I am very concerned about the whole antenna rusted eventually even with the clamps and all the parts come with it?? Are they rust protected
Answer:	Unless its stainless steel, it will rust eventually! Most commercial antenna assemblies are anodized aluminum and will not rust as it does not contain any iron (only iron bearing metal alloys will rust). The key is to lubricate the threaded hardware when you install it to prevent moisture from getting into the threads of the hardware. There are silicone-based gels available in the plumbing section of most hardware stores labeled as 'water-proof grease' used by plumbers to make future repairs on faucets easier in the future. Also try 'never-seize' used by auto mechanics at auto parts stores, but this is REALLY messy and difficult to wash off, but that is an great indication of its resistance to weathering. Also, inject some of whatever water-proofing gel into the co-ax connector to prevent corrosion which will negatively affect the signal getting to your TVs. You could after final assembly spray with an aerosol clear coat to seal out moisture from the metal and not affect signal performance.
