So if this is new wall switch then it needs to millivolt capable to be sensitive enough work with very low voltage. I purchased mine fireplace remote to replace an existing one that was damaged. Installed easy. After a few months, my fireplace insert didn't always start after is was not used for a few weeks. Service tech found that the almost 20 year old thermocouple that generates the millivolt electricity was bad, replaced it, and now the controller and fireplace work great again. Also, be aware there are both battery operated and 110V wall plug receiver models of this controller kit. I have one of each, and if an electrical outlet is available, then you won't have the change the batteries again the fireplace again on your "honey-do" list. |
