Answer:	I think it is. Mine does the exact same thing. I look at it this way: it does not matter; the only adjustments that effect MIG welding are voltage and speed (and burnback on yours). I really don't pay much attention to the display, and find my settings by experimentation on similar work pieces. I suppose the current display can give you a rough starting point for settings for a given metal thickness. I think I'll start tracking that and see.
Question:	What size cheater/magnifying lens does this helmet require
Answer:	I bought this welder not even a month ago and the one I was sent does work on 110v or 220v. even comes with an adapter to plug the normal 3 prong 110v into my dryer's 220v outlet. It works wonderfully on either power source I have used both.

Answer:	Not on the black model hood, at least as of now, Jan 2015. It doesn't have the better filter cartridge (lens unit) that the other ones apparently come with. The manual shows the better model with replaceable batteries (and how to change them) but it is wrong as the black hood has a different filter cartridge without replaceable batteries.
