I don't know what "batch" I received, but because I like the design, fit and otherwise overall quality, I am reordering another one. I ordered the first on Oct 16, 2017 during a lightening deal and the color was black. Hopefully, the "bad batches" are no longer in production. If I have a problem again with the zipper on my second case, I will certainly update my answer...and rather than ZVE, I'll look for an alternate brand to repurchase a 3rd case.
