Answer:	I use FilmicPro to connect to the Smooth 4. I also have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and because it is a heavier phone, this has trouble holding it up. However! If you purchase a counterbalance and place it appropriately on the Smooth 4, it should work. An idea I got from a YouTube video and will be trying it out myself. Good luck!

Balancing

If the smartphone fails to stay in level and keeps tilting when mounted, loosen the Roll (Y) Axis Thumb Screw to adjust the gravity center by sliding the horizontal arm (as marked red in the Figure) until the smartphone stays still and vertical on the tilt axis. Tighten the Thumb Screw after the smartphone is well balanced in level to ensure normal operations.

* Proper adjustment of gravity center ensures better power saving during operation. The stabilizer may still function well when the gravity center is not properly configured, however, it may lead to more power consumption on the motors, and can greatly affect the torque output.

Personally, I returned it as I know my next phone will be even larger and the next gimbal from dji will hopefully address the increase in phome size. How to Change Mode:

First of all, you need to know the function of the buttons on the device.

There is a Mode Change Button behind the clip head and a Intelligent Button beside the clip head.

Gimbal Mode:

1. When you need to use the Gimbal mode, you need to unlock the mode change button first.
2. And long press the intelligent button, when the light turns green, the Gimbal Mode is active.
3. And then you just need to short press the intelligent button to change the position you want.

Selfie Stick Mode:

1. When you need to use the Selfie Stick Mode, you need to make sure that the Gimbal Mode is off.
2. If the light is green, you need to long press the intelligent button to turn off the Gimabl Mode. If the light is dark, it means the Gimbal Mode is already off.
3. And then put the clip head to the position you want and lock the mode change button to fix the position.
