User questions & answers
Question: | Is it Organic |
Answer: | Hi, thanks for your question. Our product is not certified as an organic food. However, there is nothing added to this product artificially at any stage in the honey production process. The farmland the bees forage is not sprayed with pesticides, herbicides or insecticides because the rugged, mountainous terrain is not suitable for animals to graze. I hope this satisfactorily answers your question. Best regards, New Zealand Honey Co. |
Question: | How much of Manuka Honey should you use in 8 ounces of water |
Answer: | How do you drink manuka honey? Eat UMF Manuka Honey correctly. Take 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day, before meal. Eat the honey directly from the spoon without mixing into a drink for best effects. Premium manuka honey does not taste too sweet, some has a bitter taste on it. You may like to drink some water after that to wash down the honey. How to eat Manuka Honey correctly? -HoneyCity Singapore ... |
Question: | What do muf numbers mean |
Answer: | "Not all Manuka honey is created equal! The most widely accepted Manuka honey certification is called UMF which stands for Unique Manuka Factor to describe and quantify the level of Antimicrobial activity which is largely based on the concentration of the compound methylglyoxal in the honey sample." Go to https://www.manukanatural.com/blog/manuka-honey-labels-what-the-numbers-mean/ . Copy and paste this article in search, if needed. In this article, it states the importance of the UMF # and what to look out for by some suppliers. Hope this helps. I have been using this product now for about 6 months. Started with UMF 10+, then UMF 16+, then UMF 24+. and now UMF 20+. In away I was doing a self-testing experiment on a specific health condition that I am dealing with. I started at a lower EMF number then, saw fantastic results, then worked up to a higher #. Each jar that I used I could tell that there is an improvement on my particular condition. I particularly like the EMF 20+ and the results that I am having with it. While I am using this product, I have also supplemented my diet with, No Processed Sugars, or as low as possible in the foods that I consume. It was difficult at first but comes pretty natural now. Now I can look at the market shelfs and pretty well tell what is the grams of sugars in that product type. I am Talking processed sugars, not NATURAL types of sugars, out of my diet. Fresh fruit and vegetables with their natural sugars are OK. |
Question: | Has this honey crystalized after some time |
Answer: | I've never had it crystalize. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this product help acne |
Answer: | Yes manuka honey helps with acne. You would apply it to the affected area instead of acne cream after cleansing with soap and water. |
Question: | Is this honey contained Hydrogen Peroxide |
Answer: | All honey that is not processed with heat or otherwise denatured produces enzymatic peroxide activity, in the least irritating way suitable for consumption. Manuka honey is distinguished by it’s antimicrobial action over and above that which is attributable to peroxide; the degree of efficiency is measured by the UMF factor. It’s correct to say this is 100% pure honey I believe, but yes it does deliver natural peroxide as well as other antiseptic factors. |
Question: | is this honey packaged in plastic |
Answer: | Amazon warehouses only allows honey in plastic jars. |
Question: | I don't see this company on the licensed list with umf honey association of nz website. is this honey really umf licensed |
Answer: | Another consideration is HEAT. Even if it is UMF certified, heat will affect the quality and efficacy. Some manuka honeys are heated briefly to eliminate mold, etc. Also, shipping in hot weather can also adversely affect the honey. I have been using Kiva Manuka Honey lately and emailed the seller, Kiva Health, asking if their honey is completely unheated and where the honey is being shipped from. They chose not to answer. I have since switched to East Cape Te Araroa brand sold by Koru Naturals. They ship their honey through Priority Mail with cold packet enclosed to minimize exposure to heat. They are responsive to all questions and concerns. I have NO affiliation with any company. I have been using Manuka Honey for almost 20 years and have learned that there are vast differences in quality and care and that there are a lot of fraudulent "manuka honey" products on the market. |

Question: | Not one mention of "organic" in the manufacturer's extensive descriptions - one would conclude that it's not |
Answer: | It is very hard to call a honey organic. depending on where you are. ie: California honey can NOT be labeled organic as bees are able to fly where they want and collect nectar/ pollen from a lot of different sources. some other states in the US allow labeling honey organic. I did not know the laws in new Zealand |
Question: | On the pure new zealand site, this honey cost $60. Why is it cheaper here? Is this a different honey? Just want to make sure it's not a fake |
Answer: | Same product. produced and sealed in New Zealand. We're introducing Pure New Zealand Honey in North America and EU for the first time hence you are buying this honey on Amazon at promotional price. |

Good Natured's 100% Lab Certified Manuka Honey is one of the most established and trusted Manuka Honey for two main reasons:
Certified Lab Reports - We are one of the few if only companies to post, as an image to the left of the main product image above, current lab reports that show the results of the strength of this honey. Whilst we label the honey at 510+, which is the equivalent of NPA 15+, the report actually shows activity that is higher than this, which means that this Manuka honey is very potent.
Value - We import directly from the manufacturer. There are no middlemen, distributors or wholesalers to increase the cost to the customer. We do this for one main reason. We strongly believe that the medicinal properties found in this honey should be made available to as many people as possible. Is the cost still too high? Yes it is, but as people start to realize the healing benefits of certified Manuka Honey, the demand grows worldwide, which increases the cost.
We promise that we will always strive to keep our costs as low as possible so as to continue to bring these healing benefits to as many people as possible. We will always supply only the highest quality ACTIVE honey, and that our labels will always be accurately and clearly marked. Every single batch of our honey is tested by independent laboratories in New Zealand.
WHO WE ARE
We are a family owned and operated bee keeping company that was established in 1996.
Our production facility is 100% solar powered (off the grid) and we pride ourselves on managing our own hives in a facility that is custom designed to meet all HACCP protocols.
We control the production of the active medicinal honey from the cold extraction process through to quality finished packaged products.
OUR HONEY
Active Medical Honey or medicinal honey is produced from Leptospermum plants found growing in both Australia and New Zealand. The honey from these plants has unique healing properties not found in other honeys.
100% RAW. We use cold extraction and organic production methods to ensure the special properties found in these honeys are preserved and maintained.
OUR BEES are managed naturally by organic standards without the use of sugar feeding, veterinary pharmaceuticals or chemicals.
BENEFITS OF MANUKA HONEY
Our manuka honey is known to improve wound healing by stimulating cytokine release, by keeping the wound area moist and by fighting bacteria. It contains hydrogen peroxide releasing enzymes, methylglyoxal, bioflavanoids and phenolic compounds. Manuka honey has potent healing properties which enhance, protect and actively support the body’s own defenses. Typically, medical grade honey is used for wound care, as a digestive aid, for helping to relieve sore throats, stomach ulcers, pressure sores, bacterial infections and for treating burns. It is found in first aid kits, hospitals and doctor's surgeries.

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the serving size and how many serving per jar |
Answer: | i purchased the 8.8 oz. jar since this was my first time using Manuka honey. There is another larger size which I believe is 17 oz. The amount of servings per jar is dependent on how much you use per serving. I usually use Approximately 1/2 tsp. to sweeten my tea. |
Question: | Is this kind for sure raw? I don’t see it on the packaging |
Answer: | Hi, Thanks for your question! Yes, all our honey is raw and is kept at or below the ambient temperature of our hives throughout our extraction, packing and shipping process. This ensures that all the natural enzymes and activity are retained and undamaged. Thanks! Scott - New Zealand Honey Co. |
Question: | Is this a glass or plastic containers |
Answer: | Hi there, yes this is a plastic, 100% BPA free and recyclable jar. Many of our customers reuse this jar for other ingredients such as seeds, nuts, dried fruits, homemade dressings and soy sauce that they refill at bulk supermarkets. The downside to this is you can't see what is in the jar. However, we recommend writing on the jar or a label of the contents inside. The amber colour of the jar, protects the contents from direct sunlight and the product will last longer. We are looking at a more sustainable packaging option for our honey. |
Question: | Is this honey unfiltered |
Answer: | We don't fine filter our honey. We use a low-speed centrifugation process which leaves all the natural pollens, fine propolis and wax particles in the honey. Our honey remains in a raw state throughout this process. |

Sourced from the wild landscapes of New Zealand
Since 2006 our active and powerful Manuka honey has been principally harvested on the remote and wild slopes of New Zealand’s unique landscapes. Climatic conditions are perfectly aligned to produce potent nectar that bees gather to create our flavourful and rich Manuka honey.
We have a three-generation family history of beekeepers who treat the environment and bees with the utmost respect by using careful practices.
Supporting the planet through regenerative action
The Manuka bush is a regenerative species appearing in nature to help our native landscapes flourish. By replanting Manuka on farmlands across New Zealand we can contribute to the reestablishment of a better balanced ecosystem.
Manuka establishes itself quickly and can support the growth of other species around it.
