Answer:	Another consideration is HEAT. Even if it is UMF certified, heat will affect the quality and efficacy. Some manuka honeys are heated briefly to eliminate mold, etc. Also, shipping in hot weather can also adversely affect the honey. I have been using Kiva Manuka Honey lately and emailed the seller, Kiva Health, asking if their honey is completely unheated and where the honey is being shipped from. They chose not to answer. I have since switched to East Cape Te Araroa brand sold by Koru Naturals. They ship their honey through Priority Mail with cold packet enclosed to minimize exposure to heat. They are responsive to all questions and concerns. I have NO affiliation with any company. I have been using Manuka Honey for almost 20 years and have learned that there are vast differences in quality and care and that there are a lot of fraudulent "manuka honey" products on the market.

We are a family owned and operated bee keeping company that was established in 1996.

Our production facility is 100% solar powered (off the grid) and we pride ourselves on managing our own hives in a facility that is custom designed to meet all HACCP protocols.

We control the production of the active medicinal honey from the cold extraction process through to quality finished packaged products.

OUR HONEY

Active Medical Honey or medicinal honey is produced from Leptospermum plants found growing in both Australia and New Zealand. The honey from these plants has unique healing properties not found in other honeys.

100% RAW. We use cold extraction and organic production methods to ensure the special properties found in these honeys are preserved and maintained.

OUR BEES are managed naturally by organic standards without the use of sugar feeding, veterinary pharmaceuticals or chemicals.

Our manuka honey is known to improve wound healing by stimulating cytokine release, by keeping the wound area moist and by fighting bacteria. It contains hydrogen peroxide releasing enzymes, methylglyoxal, bioflavanoids and phenolic compounds. • Creamed honey is honey that has been processed to control crystallization. The process is often used in colder climates and involves heating the honey. We do not cream our honey as we do not use heat, which damages the enzymes.
• Only purchase manuka honey that includes the letters “MGO”, "NPA" or “UMF” along with the rating number, to be sure of their certified potency.
• MGO: According to Wikipedia, Methylglyoxal (MGO)....appears to have activity against E. coli and S. aureus and may help prevent formation of biofilms formed by P. aeruginosa.
• Honey does not need to be stored in the fridge, even after opening!

Question:	what is the serving size and how many serving per jar
Answer:	i purchased the 8.8 oz. jar since this was my first time using Manuka honey. There is another larger size which I believe is 17 oz. The amount of servings per jar is dependent on how much you use per serving. I usually use Approximately 1/2 tsp. to sweeten my tea.
Question:	Is this kind for sure raw? I don’t see it on the packaging
Answer:	Hi, Thanks for your question! Yes, all our honey is raw and is kept at or below the ambient temperature of our hives throughout our extraction, packing and shipping process. Question:	Is this a glass or plastic containers
Answer:	Hi there, yes this is a plastic, 100% BPA free and recyclable jar. Many of our customers reuse this jar for other ingredients such as seeds, nuts, dried fruits, homemade dressings and soy sauce that they refill at bulk supermarkets. The downside to this is you can't see what is in the jar. However, we recommend writing on the jar or a label of the contents inside. The amber colour of the jar, protects the contents from direct sunlight and the product will last longer. We are looking at a more sustainable packaging option for our honey.
Question:	Is this honey unfiltered
Answer:	We don't fine filter our honey. We use a low-speed centrifugation process which leaves all the natural pollens, fine propolis and wax particles in the honey. Our honey remains in a raw state throughout this process.
