Answer:	You should receive a pair unless a seller specifically states it is a single bookend. If not, contact the seller and or amazon. I had this problem when buying an Amazon warehouse "pair" of a different type of bookend. Amazon reimbursed me. Same thing when I ordered a pack of 12 pairs of new thermal gloves and only got 1 pair. Amazon will make it right or reimburse you if it isn't already right.

Answer:	Mine is actually louder than I expected. Especially when it's cooling it make a really loud noise. It is on my wet bar in my living room, but even when watching TV or a movie it's very noticeable over the volume (which I usually have pretty loud!)... Other than that, I love the unit... especially the fact that it cools to 34 degrees. I'm curious if my issue with sound is particular to my unit as other seem to not have the same feedback as I do.
