User questions & answers

Question: Can this controller work on nintendo switch for nes games
Answer: Hi.. My Netgear is GS108 8 Port and it is not support Web Managed. The GS116Ev2 is 16 Port and it is not same like the GS108.I did not see Netgear 5 Port with Web Managed. You can check it in WWW.NETGEAR.COMYou can find all the information heer http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/switches/
Question: Is this compatible with snes portables like the retro-bit rdp
Answer: Yes. It can only handle CAT6A traffic on two ports. Everything else is lower baud.
Question: There were complaints about the dpad with the wired scout controller. Has this been improved, or is it the exact same controller but wireless
Answer: Certainly the GS724TP has fans; usually anything with multiple PoE ports will need cooling; from the data sheet: – Acoustic noise: 46.5 dB; that's pretty loud in an office/home environment, unless it's in an equipment room with other noisy servers and equipment; the fans are (necessarily) small, which means it's really difficult to make them quiet; they need to move a lot of air through a small aperture.
Question: its copatible and retron
Answer: I know this is 4 years later, it might help others. Using 1Gbps switches is the way to go rather than 10/100Mbps switches. Why? 1) They only cost a few Dollars more; 2) they have a long lifetime "future proofing" your tech purchases for new equipment that support 1Gbps rates, I have five 1Gbps Netgear 8-Port switches I bought in 2007 so they are now 13 years old, that's really good quality; 3) typical home equipment won't run at a full 1Gbps, however, depending on your equipment you'll get upwards of 300Mbps doing backups to a local 1Gbps storage device so take advantage of it; 4) I keep a small USB laptop cooling fan under my switches if there is space to help keep them a tad cooler for longevity, small inexpensive cooling fans can be had for less that $10 and use very little electricity. Managed v. Unmanaged: I think it is safe to say that for 99% of home users: 1) unmanaged is fine; 2) the router that connects to the Internet will manage QoS (Quality of Service for Voice, Video and Data prioritization, if you aren't sure about this, let the router figure it out for you no worries at all), VLANs (Virtual LANs if you use them are nice for wireless connections to have a special network just for visitors in your home so they ONLY have access to the Internet UNLESS you want them to interact with your stuff like gaming or movies or whatever - I trust those who I let access my ISP access however I just feel tad better knowing I have privacy) and the router manages IP address allocations via DHCP; 3) If you are a tech geek and like to fidget and do stuff I totally understand, then managed might be what you want and you'll pay more. I'm an IT Infrastructure consultant who cut my teeth on 10Mbps 1/2 Duplex Ethernet back in 1983, and I don't have a need for managed switches for the house. I do have a good router that I can do "stuff" to, very little (QoS, reserved IP addresses for storage devices and printers so I always know the assigned IP address, wireless guest VLAN, how month monthly traffic that we send/receive out of curiosity, give names to devices' MAC addresses so I know what is connected) but I'm happy as a little clam not having to fuss. My take on tech: if the computer can handle it well, let it. I like using wired connections for the TV, DVD player, DVR, printer, storage device for local back-ups, my offices' docking stations. Wireless is left for devices like iPads, smartphones, guests' devices, my laptop when I undock it and take it around the house or if there isn't a wired area to connect. I use Netgear switches in the TV cabinet for the TV, DVR and DVD/Blue-ray devices then connect the switch to a CAT6 UTP wall port and that connects to another LAN switch that aggregates all the home LAN switches in my office closet and connects to the router that connects to my ISP. IMHO, the Netgear 1,000/100/10Mbps (1Gbps) switches are just a tad more than the 10/100Mbps devices and are the way to go. And, I also spend a tad more on the GS108 and GS105 ProSafe switches (I have no need at this time for PoE - Power Over Ethernet, however this is handy for video security so you run one wire and if you have power and your video cam has wireless, be sure to use encryption to secure your video feed) that have a lifetime hardware warranty (power adapter is like 2 years I think). I've only had to replace 1 or 2 of my ProSafe switches with the warranty. This stuff just works. Typically when a ProSafe switch acts-up, it the power supply that is relatively cheap to replace, and new ones are really better than the one Netgear supplies. NETGEAR: Listen up - a high quality power supply should only cost a few Dollars more, think about it. Hope this helps people.

User questions & answers

Question: what is the audio format for this converter
Answer: I believe it is PCM. The Wii is not capable of any surround sound. The PCM setting is default for 2 channel (left and right ) stereo sound.
Question: Does this convert 480i games to 480p automatically
Answer: Your Wii has 480i mode and 480p mode, and with the default AV cable, is locked to 480i. If you go to video settings with a digital cable such as this Hyperkin one plugged in, the 480p option is selectable. Once you select 480p, every game should play in 480p.
Question: I connected the cable to my wii by my Gamecube games arent in 4:3.Is there a way to fix this
Answer: You should also check to see if your Wii is set to the 4:3 aspect ratio. Sometimes you have to set the output lower on the Wii or WiiU first for it to display properly.
Question: Will this work on Wii U
Answer: I am not sure but I wouldn't see why it wouldn't as it just acts like an AV cable. But the question would be WHY? The Wii U has and HDMI port. Just use that.

User questions & answers

Question: How does it have R and B buttons with white and black buttons
Answer: It should work on any system with SNES controller ports, assuming that the ports are wired to read the button inputs from an SNES controller. Most devices with SNES controller ports should support SNES controllers just fine, as I can't imagine anyone going through the trouble of including SNES controller ports and not wiring them properly.
Question: how long is the wire
Answer: Yes. Any controller that works for SNES should work with a SupaBoy. This controller's pretty comfortable, but its d-pad isn't so great, so I wouldn't recommend this controller for fighting games.
Question: Does it work with Windows 7 through 8.1? Upgrading to Windows 10 is a no for me
Answer: Hmm..if the Pandora Box 9s accepts the 7 pin plug then I don't see why not. This isn't the USB version.
Question: It has the xbox original start up on the center display, but does it make the start up sounds as well when pressed
Answer: There’s no mention by Hyperkin of the number limit, just that they are limited edition. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

User questions & answers

Question: Does it use standard Xbox One controller controller buttons
Answer: I measured it at over 9 1/2 feet. Laid it out on the floor (still has the new cord waves), so stretched straight, I'd say very close to 10 feet. I've never had a corded controller with this long of a cord! Game on!
Question: Does this controller have the vibration feature and will there be a wireless variant
Answer: The bumpers and Black/White buttons perform the same function.
Question: does it work with retro pie
Answer: 6-9 feet
Question: How long is the cord
Answer: I assume it does not, I've tried with Windows 7 32bit Home Edition and it didn't recognize the control. Besides, the package only acknowledges Windows 10 as compatible.
