But I do recommend to play 3 and 4 (each should roughly be $10 and some change for the latest version) respectively to really appreciate the genre as a whole. I believe 5 will not diminish any love you may get for the series. In fact, I've seen it only get better and better, which may leave you wanting more. I guess what I'm saying is, If you play from Persona 3Fes to Persona 4Golden, and to the latest. You'll enjoy the ride a lot more than doing it backwards. Sorry for the long comment.

Answer:	I have both and I like the ZD-V better than the F310 overall but here are my pros and cons of each: The F310 has softer pressing buttons and analog sticks, which I prefer, but the F310 has actual triggers on L2 and R2 and I hate those, they are very stiff and awkward to use. The D-Pad is OK, but not great. My F310 just randomly does not work at all and has to be unplugged and re-plugged (since it was new) to get it to function again...for a while. The ZD-V has tighter pressing buttons and analog sticks, and has buttons instead of triggers on L2 and R2, which is probably not "proper" but I prefer it. The D-Pad on this one is very good and Playstation-like. The ZD-V is just more comfortable to use overall. I have had mine for several years and it is still working like new.
