User questions & answers
Question: | Is this for left or right hand |
Answer: | This robot arm is the new model which is hydraulic and it does not require USB. The hydraulic arm uses regular water to operate. The usb was used in earlier versions of the robot arm.Let me know if that helps. |
Question: | Can you add the usb pack to this model |
Answer: | To be clear, by "oil" I assume you are referring to the lubricant that came in a small bag. As Dohn Riley pointed out, some of the answers to this question are confusing the oil with the "hydraulic fluid" which is water in this case. You can buy a replacement "oil bag" from the company for $1 plus shipping. I suspect that the oil they use is a kind of mineral oil. It has to be something that is safe for kids to get on their hands etc. It looks and feels like drug store mineral oil but is more viscous. |
Question: | What kind of oil can be used as a replacement for the original |
Answer: | Yes, but be willing to pay for it. Unless you catch the error within 30 days of purchase (not receipt), they won't stand behind their product at all. |
Question: | Is there any way to get extra tubing? Mine was cut short |
Answer: | This is the only app-enabled Droid that you put together yourself. Like all littleBits products, the Droid Inventor Kit encourages invention and creativity. It comes with everything you need to create an R2 Unit from scratch, including electronic blocks, plastic Droid parts, and stickers. Each electronic block has a different function (motor, proximity sensor, speaker, etc.), enabling kids to reconfigure and customize their Droid in new ways, transforming their original R2 Unit into any Droid they can dream up. This kit also integrates with any of the other kits (including 70 unique Bits) that littleBits makes. The possibilities for invention are endless. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come in original packaging or a plain, brown box |
Answer: | yes it is, the inside bottom folds from front up, and the side s 'accordian' on each side. then I use a light weight bungee cord to hold it closed. I've use mine several yrs. and I still love it. at first it would swing back when loaded so we fastened the back bottom as well as the top and it's been great ever since. |
Question: | Are pieces metal or plastic |
Answer: | I suppose you might be able to rig something on the handle bars. I rigged mine on my back bike rack with simple long Velcro straps in 3 places and I load a lot in there all the time. |
Question: | How do I get replacement servo motors (green ones) for meccanoid xl 2.0? Neck servos were delivered defective |
Answer: | The baskets unfolded are a little short of 13", got them today and feel a bit disappointed. But they will work well for commuting and gathering groceries. |
Question: | Does it sleep |
Answer: | Listing was for one basket. Not familiar with Wald 582 baskets but this one seems sturdy enough. |
Question: | Does this kit require coding |
Answer: | The bike has (7)seven speeds, (Seven Sprockets at the rear wheel), and (1)one Sprocket at the Pedals). This gearing is meant to be average range of speeds. So don't expect this Hi gear to compete with a Mountain Bike, or Street Bike. I get up to about 30mph in hi gear. But I'm 61y/o and 330lbs. |
Question: | Stepper motors or encoder feedback dc motors |
Answer: | The steering angle is fixed just like any bike. As for the gearing, I don't know the numbers, but it is an excellent range for this bike. |
Question: | Is Alkaline D type 1.5V battery required |
Answer: | Hello and thank you for your question. Yes! A folded ZiZZO will fit easily under a desk or table. Folded, the ZiZZO is about 27" high. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Your ZiZZO Team |

User questions & answers
Question: | what does it do |
Answer: | It wobbles along and that's it...simple first robot design.....great for the beginner robot builder |
Question: | What is my purpose |
Answer: | Its super fun my 10 year old kid absolutely loved it |
Question: | Would this project be good for a 7-year-old girl |
Answer: | My kids were 10 and 8, but I think a 7 year old could with some adult help. |
Question: | Does this have to be a tin can? Most soda cans are aluminum |
Answer: | The name "Tin Can" was used for marketing purposes. Aluminum is difficult for kids to pronounce, and the word is pronounced very differently overseas, most imitating the British; a-loo-min-ee-um. The actual material is unimportant. I suppose the steel cans often used in Japan would be fine as well, perhaps even better. (Steel is subsidized in Japan and so is cheaper than aluminium) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Could my son use his Chromebook to do the coding on this? Or does it have to be a tablet/ smart phone |
Answer: | Yes Kyle Holbrook, The Bluetooth module is the same one. You can still use your phone to connect the Bluetooth. Actually the Bluetooth dongle is used to connect your robot to the computer. Thanks. |
Question: | Champbot - should the cable W3 connecting 2 motors at step 30 should be twisted or flat? Instruction shows flat but the cable only connects twisted |
Answer: | I'm not sure, I never had the dongle kit, I think the dongle is made more for computers or laptops. There is a small plug in circuit board for blue tooth that works with phones. When you buy an Mbot there are two models one comes with the bluetooth board. The real fun is in writing a program for the robot and you will learn a lot more. Do a search for videos on YouTube for Mbot or MakeBlock there's a ton of them. |
Question: | Will it work okay in uk if bought from usa amazon |
Answer: | It is English |
Question: | Where can you get additional sensors |
Answer: | Thank you for your inquiring. It should be ok. But we need to make sure the line sensor will light on when it is above on makers and will be off when it is above on the white board. For more question, you may send email to [email protected]. Thank you~ |
