| Answer: | It is a 3 element unit. The round tube has 3 elements that are on a plate. Each element stretches to both sides of the plate. Easiest way to get to it is from the front. You can test first at the green and white/clear connectors on the control board with a standard continuity tester. The 2 connectors have 3 wires each. Check continuity between the outside wires. If nothing, it's not the element. If there is continuity then the elements are shorting between each other. Most likely one element over heated and drooped onto another. You'll see it if that's the case when removing the unit. Was obvious on mine. Original unit lasted for 5ish or so years of fairly heavy use (almost daily and definitely 2 or more times per week at 2 or 3 loads a run), so hopefully I'll get the same out of the replacement. |
