Question:	Can I use it for car audio ? I will not be solderingvwire thicker then 10 gage an no thiner then 16 g Is this the right tool for me
Answer:	I have used my old 8200 (the 9400 is supposed to be a reworked 8200) on my house wiring. Rather than just use the twist nuts on a bundle of wire, instead I use my 8200 and some 1/8" rosin core solder to solder the bundle together, and then put on the twist nut. This way, there will NEVER be a chance of my connections failing. I have wrapped as many a 5 #12 wires together and soldered them with the 8200. Be patient as you heat up the wire. It may take as long as 30 seconds to get the work temperature high enough to melt the solder. So in answer to your question: this is definitely the gun you want for soldering #16 - #10 wire. Make sure you use rosin core solder, too. Anything else and you will be disappointed with your solder joints.

I'm a tool-time kind'a guy and would put a turbo on everything, if I could. Knowing a little of woodburning, I would ask you to imagine not only the tip being used to burn with, but also some of the intricate hand motions you might use to achieve your effects. An iron you can roll in your fingers will be of much more use than this straight-on hand grip can offer. These irons must be "tinned" before use to be used on wires. Hi, it may happen that if the wire is not straight inside the solder, simply it does not find the way to exit, but is bundled inside. You may try to open the solder (there is a cover on the side, probably for this purpose) and see where the wire is. At that point you may cut the soldering wire and restart to feed it. At the beginning I was not putting back that cover because I had to insert and remove the soldering a couple of times.

3.When welding, do not use too much pressure. As long as the iron tip fully contact the solder joint, heat can be transferred.

4.To avoid oxidation, please clean soldering iron tip and "tin" all faces of tip with a coating of solder after using. If there is black oxide on the iron tip, please clean it by WET sponge firstly. Answer:	I have this soldering iron and I use genuine Hakko T18 tips also. The only difference between 900M and T18 tips is the overall width of the shank. T18 shanks are roughly 1.5 to 3 tenths of a mm wider, it depends on how much undersize the cheap tips are when you compare them. The 4mm hole on the cheap tips aren't all drilled to the same depth, so some will sit directly on the steel shaft that protrudes from the handle of the iron and surrounds the ceramic heater and some do not, leaving a small gap between the shank of the tip and the steel shaft. The Hakko tips leave a very small gap and sit directly on the tip of the ceramic heater, so don't over tighten the steel sleeve that holds the tip in place. Even when there's a gap with the cheaper tips you should not overtighten the sleeve, you risk breaking the ceramic heater. Just firmly finger tighten. Answer:	Sorry to disagree with the previous answers, but I would definitely say no. In fact, I wouldn't recommend the use of any iron. You will need a torch for making jewelry. You CANNOT use leaded solder for jewelry period, and the usual leadfree solder is not strong enough. Jewelry requires extremely high silver content solder and that requires temperatures in the 1300-1400F degree range. I suggest you watch some YouTube videos on jewelry making if anyone has plans on making jewelry.

Answer:	It comes with tin/lead solder. I have soldered on a cb radio circuit board with thin silver solder though. It did good. No cold solder on the connection. It melts at about 840 degrees. Shooting the tip with my temp gun it was reading between 890 and 905 on the highest setting.
