I would call the help desk at 1-800-888-6788 to verify your present situation. Make sure you have the model NFO, of course, and the manufacturing date stamped on the back.

Answer:	As far as i can tell the probes are about 3/8 long. The are metal, and have a plastic cover to protect them and you when not in use. Answer:	Hi - Yes, the battery is replaceable. It's a 9-volt battery. But in my opinion, the Zircon Leak Alert alarm is better than the Honeywell. The Zircon has sensors that lie flat on the floor, as opposed to the Honeywell, which has sensors that are raised slightly above the floor. In fact, I tested the 2 alarms side-by-side and found that the Zircon's response time is faster than Honeywell's. (The Zircon also uses a 9-volt battery).

The Leak Alert has two external metal sensing contacts running a mild electrical current. When both strips get wet, through a plumbing leak, flood, or surrounding moisture condensing on the surface, the electrical circuit will complete, and the alarm will sound.

The Leak Alert detector is not a one-time use device. Each time the sensing contacts make contact with moisture and the alarm sounds, simply dry the contacts. Return the detector to its location or choose a new location as needed.

All that is needed to operate the tool is a fresh 9V alkaline battery with an extended expiration date.

1. Install the Battery

Install a new 9V alkaline battery in your Leak Alert. Just like your smoke detectors, the battery in a Leak Alert should be changed on an annual basis at minimum. For additional security, the unit will chirp if the battery is running low and will float in the event of a flood.

2. Placement

Place a Leak Alert in any location where there is a potential for water damage and flooding such as in the:

Lay the Leak Alert flat with the metal contacts facing down and touching the surface. Answer:	It does not leak, but the gauge and/or the release valve is inaccurate. Sometimes I could wind the pressure up to what the gauge said was 50 PSI with no problems, other times, the release valve would activate at that level. And sometimes the valve would blow at lower PSIs, so the gauge would read 40 PSI but the release valve would engage. For the record, I believe the documentation says the valve should engage at 45 PSI. I don't remember. I ended up buying a regulator from www.micromatic.com, and have been much happier with it.
Question:	will it float in water
Answer:	My Kegco came with a dial for the pressure. It has a plus and a minus on it and that is where I adjust it (see the picture). If you did not get this knob then most likely you would have to use a wrench or screw driver. On the old regulator I did have to use a screw driver and the adjustment was hard to make. If you don't have the new Kegco regulator it is worth the purchase.
Question:	Where do the emails come from? even though there's no hub, it must connect to a remote email server (at zircon?). what if zircon stops this service
Answer:	Yes, remove the hi pressure gauge and put a 1" or 2" extension pipe where the gauge was. Make sure that the threds on the extension are going the right way. They will be left or right. Than add the second regulator to the end of the extension.

Detection & Alerts

Leak Alert water detectors have two Sensing Contacts that carry a mild electrical current. When both contacts detect moisture, the detector will sound a loud 105 dB alarm and the LEDs will flash. Email notifications will also be sent to configured email addresses every ten minutes for the first hour, and then once every hour for the life of the battery.

Placement

An infinite number of Zircon Leak Alert WiFi detectors can be configured and strategically placed in your home or property. Leak Alert detectors are intended for interior use only and must be placed within range of your router to successfully send email notifications.

Leak Alert water detectors must be placed with the two metal Sensing Contacts flush against the surface where it can come in contact with leaks.

Battery Installation & Low Battery

The Zircon Leak Alert WiFi water detector includes one 3V (CR123A) lithium battery. Remove the plastic PULL tab strip from the battery compartment before use.

To access the battery compartment, grasp the base of the detector with one hand, placing your thumb and middle finger on the indented battery access grooves. Squeeze both sides of the bottom half of the case. Lift and detach the top cover.

During the initial configuration of your Leak Alert WiFi, you may receive a 'Low Battery Alert' notification to your configured email address(es) as a result of a temporary dip in the battery voltage during the configuration process. This is not uncommon. The battery will quickly recover its voltage once the configuration process is complete and the detector enters sleep mode.

In the event of an actual low battery, the Leak Alert WiFi will chirp every 30 seconds between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time, and one email notification will be sent per 24-hour period.

Email Notifications

Email notifications will be sent as long as the detector is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Upon successful configuration, email notifications will be sent to confirm configuration, when a leak is detected, and when the battery is low and/or has been replaced. Each email will contain the detector’s name and time stamp.

To receive an optional event log summary every 6 days,check the option box 'Send Log Every 6 Days' in the 'Device' screen during configuration. The Event Log reports the last 20 notifications sent, including anytime there was a lost connection to the router, upon reconnection to the Internet.

Q: Will the detector still work if there is a power outage to my Wi-Fi router?

A: The detector will be unable to send email alerts during this time. However, the visual and audio (105 dB alarm) alerts will still function.

Q: Why is my Leak Alert WiFi still emitting an alarm when the sensing contacts are dry?

A1: Moisture from your fingers can trigger the alarm if they come in contact with the external Sensing Contacts that wrap around the bottom of the detector.

A2: Alarm may actually be the chirp of the low battery indication. Replace with a new 3V (CR123A) lithium battery immediately.

Q: Will I ever need to reconnect the detector to the Wi-Fi network after the first configuration?

Answer:	There are 3 ways to connect the extension cable to YoLink Leak Sensor. 1. Soldering with a soldering iron: (1) Use a soldering iron to solder 2 common wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the Leak Sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) (2) Fix the leak sensor in one place (If you use double-sided tape to paste the bottom of the leak sensor to the wall, the thickness of the double-sided tape must be higher than the height of the footpad on the bottom of the leak sensor (>1.5mm), otherwise, the leak sensor may not stick firmly ) (3) Place the 2 wires in the area to be detected. The 2 wires must be separated and fixed with a certain distance (10~15mm) But please kindly note: If you use a soldering iron to solder the wire, it may damage the two probes of the original device, which may cause the probes to rust in a humid environment. 2. Use glue or tape to fix (1) Use glue or tape to stick 2 ordinary wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the leak sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) a. Stick the wire to the end of the probe and roll it into a circle or ring to expand the contact area & assist in fixing; b. It is recommended to use glue/tape with high viscosity, which must be firmly adhered to!
