Answer:	Dear cutomer, excuse that this prodcut Y301 can't detect hydrogen gas, it's mainly sensitive for methane and propane. thank you very much

Answer:	Don't worry, it's normal, the large moisture change can affect the sensor performance, and may lead to false alarm, but the data on display only switch to 1,2 or 3, but won;t trigger the voice and light alarm. Answer:	To be totally honest, I was very disappointed in this product. It did not work well for me with very coarse hair. I would have returned it but it was not worth the hassle for such a small price.

Answer:	It depends on the ambient conditions but generally the limit for operation of a gas detector is around 4-5 years. Most gas detectors fail in 2-4 years due to the filament type sensor used. Consequently, regular testing of the device is essential to ensure operability.

Answer:	You could theoretically use the product with a battery and USB solar panel power supply but there is a limit if using with only a battery. For example, physical limit for 4000 mAh battery is 4000 mAh/110 mA = 36.4 hours assuming the FULL 4000 mAh is available for discharge which it is not usually as the 4000 mAh seen is rated by the battery manufacturer for charging of phones, not powering alarms. There is a natural drop of voltage as the battery discharges from ~5V to 3.6V. What can be done is get a battery with a larger capacity such as a 6600 mAh battery (or put multiple batteries in a parallel circuit if done safely).

Answer:	Virtually all explosive gas monitors employ a heating element as part of their design. Because of this, such devices must be plugged into a household outlet. Answer:	I really don't know. Frankly, I must have missed a directive about the unit must be near the ceiling. I don't know any homes with outlets near the ceiling. My understanding was the outlet not be ground level to detect gas properly. I have an outlet about mid high on the wall. My understanding of direct plug into outlet is to prevent any other device failing in between or becoming unplugged. The only way the manufacturer can say his device works is to use it as designed. It is apparently necessary to guarantee direct current. L

Answer:	I have it next to my gas stove, it's fairly sensitive because sometimes I have to unplug it while I'm cooking because the alarm starts going off. I mostly wanted it in case my kids turn the stove knobs on and I don't know about it, it definitely detects the gas quickly when I've tested it.

Testing/Tips:

-Due to added odorants, people can often begin smelling a gas leak at 1% LEL whereas available retail gas alarms set an alarm threshold of 5%-25% LEL to avoid frequent false alarms. Do not be alarmed if you smell gas before the device alarms.

-Every couple weeks, test your alarm with unlit butane from a cigarette lighter or propane source.

-Item undergoes self-test warmup sequence for 3 min on startup.

-Avoid placement where airborne contaminants like cooking oils can coat and decrease sensor sensitivity.

Answer:	The location depends on the type of gas. For natural gas put it high. For propane put it near the floor. I'm worried by the low reviews because the alarm is not detecting any low level of gas.

Answer:	There are two possible causes. The unit was not zeroed out upon activation or you do have a very low level of gas in your home atmosphere, with the first being my best guess. Unplug and move and re-check the reading. If this does not resolve the issue send it back for a new one. Mine has worked well for 6 months so far.

Answer:	I returned these detectors. They don't have any information printed on the case - no manufacturer name, no instructions, no UL approved indicator, etc. These were made in China which is usually okay but I am not comfortable in relying on them to protect my family. I will be researching further and looking for better detectors that can be trusted.

Answer:	I cannot plug mine in anymore it immediately alerts “GAS”. Very disappointing. It’s only a couple years old. I would expect for his price they last longer and/or have a better return policy.

Answer:	I had a major lp gas leak in the gas line inside my walls and this unit never registered anything. Don't waste your money. Fortunately, I believed what I thought I smelled and called the gas company.
