Answer:	There are two ways of activating the light: from the main button near the charging port and via a button on the tail end. The main button can be programmed one of two ways. The default mode is to cycle with quick button presses from low to medium to high and then off. If you do a long first press it defaults to low mode and then off. This can be reversed to go high to medium to low if you prefer. The tail cap button defaults to momentary high with a strobe if you tap it fast and then hold. The strobe mode can be disabled. All in all this is one of the most useful lights I have ever owned. I carry it every day as my general task light alongside a P2X Fury Tactical.
Question:	Is the battery replaceable in the future if it stops holding a charge
Answer:	It’s a sealed unit. Your only option might be to send it to surfire or attempting to separate the plastic halves on your own.

Answer:	2600mah is a battery capacity, so we're not 100% sure which battery size you mean. We'll assume that you're referring to an 18650 battery (most likely). This light only uses CR123 batteries. For Surefire models that can accept rechargeable batteries, look for "Dual-Fuel" models.

Answer:	I have the 500 lumen version of the Defender and now the 1000 lumen version. Yes the throw and hot spot are similar. I don’t think you will be disappointed in it.

Question:	Is the battery life always this bad
Answer:	Very low run life. Mine is 80 lumen led bulb bought it and the G2 in 2003 and never got over 2.5 or 3.0 hours of use. Inveat in rechargables for sure I'd suggest. There are re newer brighter led rwplacements that are brighter. But once again your dealing with battery draining sun blaster like flashlight. Use it only for combat or training, delf defense and you will save on batteries. ETC...
Question:	Can this with stand 5.56 recoil and can i put this on my rifle
Answer:	Without a doubt, it will withstand 5.56. I had this light mounted to my M4 Carbine in the army and never had a problem. I have since mounted it to my 12 gauge and it can withstand that as well. You’ll love it. The only thing is, if you want to add a pressure switch, you’ll need to change the back cap or purchase one with the cap.

Question:	Does this flashlight have a momentary on function
Answer:	I have two of these, purchased in July 2017. Neither has a momentary on feature. They're both click on/click off with gentle push to cycle through the 3 modes. They don't hold the last mode either. If you turn them off while on bright, when you turn it back on, it'll come on in the dim mode, if you turn it off while on dim, it comes back on in strobe mode, and so on. A little annoying, but I still like the light well enough that I bought a second one and plan to buy another. Nice small inexpensive AA flashlight to keep in the vehicles.

Answer:	It is only water resistant, not waterproof. I accidentally knocked mine into my sink that had about an inch of standing water. I immediately retrieved it and dried it off, but it would not turn on. However, about an hour later, it did turn on and worked normally again.

Answer:	You're probably asking if the lens is plastic. It is not. I doubt that Surefire would use plastic in any of their flashlights, and they don't in this one.

Question:	How "weather resistant', Waterproofness is this light.? Is the batterry sesitive to extreme temperatures
Answer:	I bought 2... one I leave on my keychain. The other was left in the car for a couple of days with nighttime temperatures in the high teens, I dropped it in the snow briefly with no problems. It held it's full charge, No problem. However, I know that the battery will degrade faster over time if left in the cold, so I bought a great retractable keychain that I can hook just about anywhere on my body... jacket, jeans, holster magazine pouch, etc. I bought this in part as a defensive tool. At it's middle and highest setting it's blinding... it will get you off the "X" if you need to flee a bad situation. Or it will put you a great advantage if you need to act. I've never seen a light so small and powerful, but that's SUREFIRE for you. It's always been my go to light/gear. i'm a flashlight nut... nothing comes close.
Question:	During the charge led blinks. Is that normal
Answer:	Yes, blinking LED while the flashlight is charging is normal. When the flashlight is fully charged the LED will stop blinking and will be steady ON.
Question:	Does it have a lockout ability for pocket carry
Answer:	I've carried in my pocket for 2 months and have not had it turn on accidently. The on/off button is flush and takes a little oomph to turn on so I don't see (and apparently Surefire didn't either) any need for a lockout. Good light though.
Question:	Is the rechargable battery replaceable and available
Answer:	This high quality battery is not replaceable. The rechargeable battery eliminates the need to purchase many batteries over the life of the product. The casing is sealed such that opening the unit would require breaking the casing to open it, thus causing severe damage to this excellent and robust illumination tool.

Answer:	Very low run life. Mine is 80 lumen led bulb bought it and the G2 in 2003 and never got over 2.5 or 3.0 hours of use. Inveat in rechargables for sure I'd suggest. There are re newer brighter led rwplacements that are brighter. But once again your dealing with battery draining sun blaster like flashlight. Use it only for combat or training, delf defense and you will save on batteries. ETC...
Question:	will the surefire protected 18650 rechargeable batteries fit and work in this
Answer:	Without a doubt, it will withstand 5.56. I had this light mounted to my M4 Carbine in the army and never had a problem. I have since mounted it to my 12 gauge and it can withstand that as well. You’ll love it. The only thing is, if you want to add a pressure switch, you’ll need to change the back cap or purchase one with the cap.

Answer:	This particular one (pictured) is a Pro. I might suggest that you go to the Surefire website to see the differentiation of the various G2X models. There are: Pro, LE, Tactical, to name three. The differences are in the the order of light (lumens) output. Pro has low, then high. The LE has high, then low. The tactical has one--high.

Answer:	iv got the biggest most bad a$$ remington 870 express magnum 12ga I can get and use 3inch magnum OO.buck and the G2Xtactical and it hold just as good as the gun! iv shot it with the light on the gun about 65-70 times.iv don alot of research on good flashlights this is the best for the money..

Answer:	For the guy who mentioned strobe, the testing indicates striving doess little compared to a full 300 to 500 lumens. strobe actually can disorient the defender holding the flashlight. For defensive usye it lis light into the eyes of attack or in CQ a) filling the fist with something of any weight and support for knuckles is helpful and b) also if it sticks out half an inch from the sides of your fist, striking hand of someone grabbing you breaking bones in back of hand, or strikes to collarbone or temple with the protruding part of the light. You do NOT need a bezel

Answer:	My wife has one on her 12 gauge Mossberg, it's probably been shot less than 100 times with no issues. I had that light on my AR for several hundred rounds before it went on the shotgun. I think it will be fine.
