Answer:	It's not a quick release as it works on a flat-head screw system. That being said, it can just be hand-tightened and doesn't really require any tools. And it won't fit the M&P9c since the frame on that pistol is just too short and has too few slots to accommodate this light.

The powerful CREE LED flashlight has 3 modes, adjustable focus, operates on one AA battery and can project for over 1,000 feet. The patented mount is a combination of lightweight aluminum and silicone rubber. Make sure when installing that you don't get the set screw too tight or the light will shut off when it heats up in fire (locktight blue helps keep everything tight but also allows you to move it if necessary)

GL (Standard):

This key fits Glock or 'universal' rails. These have a cross slot about 5/32-inch wide. The Standard system key appears somewhat thinner than the Picatinny key.

MIL-STD-1913 'Picatinny':

The 1913 key is wider than the standard key. Slots are 0.206-inch wide. Some guns with a Picatinny rail still need a standard key depending on the construction of the rail.

Smith & Wesson 99/TSW:

This key has the bar extended farther back than the other keys. They are for rails having a non-standard (too short) distance between the slot and the trigger guard.
