I also covered the splice with 3M type 33 black tape as an added insurance policy. This tape is putty-like and bonds to itself when wrapped. I also used the 3M tape to cover all of the barbed fitting/hose clamp plumbing joints and the cast housing of the pump. The pump has been in for several months and works like a champ. You will not be disappointed with the quality and performance of this pump. |

| Answer: | Should work just fine horizontal, however, this is a deep well submersible pump made to go in a water well. If you need a horizontally mounted pump there are lots of other options. Mine is mounted vertically 110' below the surface. Works great. |

| Answer: | Mine dropped right in my well. It says 4", but my cap was a little bigger than 4". Don't expect alot of pressure. I have to fill a tank and use gravity to water my garden. |
