Most helpful is the laser guide that projects a red beam in front of the tool that shows you where you’re about to go. This piece is fully adjustable, too, letting you adjust your bevel from 0 to 50 degrees and your depth up to 1 9/16 inches. On top of that, it’s a part of the One+ collection, so there is a huge collection of batteries in all kinds of price ranges that will work with this. Few pieces compare to the attention to detail Ryobi’s put into this product. Everything fits together to bring you an accurate and powerful sawing experience. Ryobi does DIY right.

  • EASY GRIP: Rubber overmold makes it easy for you to grip and control this tool, even in slippery conditions
  • LASER GUIDE: The tool generates a red line on the work surface in front of the saw upon the tool’s activation, letting you see where you’re working

User questions & answers

Question: Seems too cheap for a real Ryobi saw. What is the deal? Does it come with a battery and charger
Answer: I never received this order.
Question: Work with ryobi p118 battery charger and ryobi p102 18 volt one lithium ion compact battery
Answer: About 4 lbs. Just used mine yesterday. Quite light weight. Works well
Question: What is the warranty period for a new saw
Answer: Yes. I have both of these tools and interchange the one and one+ batteries all the time.
Question: Saw arrive in a plastic bag. No original box. Was shipped in a box 3 times to large with almost no padding and no manual. Others have same experience
Answer: The P515 is very similar, mostly a different case design. The P516 is their first semi-capable reciprocating saw, capable of being used in most situations a full sized contractor grade corded sawzall would be used, except a bit slower cutting. You might want this P514 or the P515 if light weight is paramount and you're only using it for light duty tasks like pruning bushes. Anything more than that, and the P516 is clearly the better saw except as mentioned, that it weighs more. As far as the specs go you can compare those yourself.
Question: Does it include a battery
Answer: 3,100 stroke per minute
Question: can this saw lock in the on position
Answer: Any 18v Ryobi-compatible battery will work, but 5 or 6 Ah batteries will run the saw longer than just a few cuts. Saw uses a lot of current.
Question: is this lefthand like in pic
Answer: With the metal blade yes.
Question: is this saw lefthand or is pic reversed
Answer: supply and demand, no knockoff all (well at least what we sell, you have to check each seller) are original. Who says HD should be the cheapest. Sometimes there are promos and we give discounts to our customers

Question: can i use a P108 battery? (yellow & black
Answer: Specs state 500 to 1300 per minute but have never had the need to measure it. Yesterday I used this tool to cut 82" long 1 1/4" thick cherry for bed parts. I do not have a band saw and this tool is fantastic for trim and curve cuts.
Question: What is the difference between the P523 jig and the P5231 jig
Answer: It did when I bought it. The case seems to be heavy duty plastic and well made. Unlike some, the tool and cord actually fit easily in the case, it secures well, the handle is convenient and there is a separate compartment for extra blades and one for the manual and other paperwork.
