Here is what I have done with a drive belt off an old Sears table saw, I took the old belt to car quest auto parts and they also carry an assortment of machinery belts. You might be able to look up the owners manual on the internet. Also Harbor freight carries that sander, they might have the belt or might order you one.
Question:	Does drive shaft have one bearing or two? Mine (a cast iron model) lasted onlt about 30 hours of use. Steel model has one shaft for both sanders
Answer:	Not loud at all ... just tension the drive v belt and it is a perfect small shop sander. It is shipped with the belt in slack mode so as not to over stretch the v belt. People are just lazy to read the manual - it is much easier to complain via the keyboard.

Question:	I see in the description this tool is intended for wood, what would happen if metal is used
Answer:	The sanding belt and disc is what is intended for wood. Get a metal sanding belt/disc and you will be good to go!
Question:	What is the country of origin
Answer:	China. But it works well. The only problem is the dust port on the belt sander. It’s next to impossible to plug a vac into it when it’s in the upright position as it’s generally pictured. You have to jury-rig a flexible hose to the sander to which you can attach a vac hose.

Answer:	The dust ports are fixed on the machine and two universal size reducers( 1-3/8 In O.D) are connected to the outside of the dust ports.

Answer:	I use a 4x36 with 60 grit zirconia belt to sharpen my mower blades. Iin my opinion it is far superior to the angle grinder and flap disk method, and the hand held on a bench grinder method. It is faster, more precise, and more controllable than those alternates. It leaves the best looking edge I've ever put on a mower blade.

Question:	Can you sharpen knives with this
Answer:	I have had my Rikon for about 6 months, and have used it a lot. I still have the original sanding disc on it. It definately has served my needs. No negative comments on this tool.

Answer:	If you put too much pressure the material will break. It mostly for the stronger metals. We have used it for aluminum but again we don't put a lot of pressure. Hope this helps. It's a great sander and haven't had any problems

Answer:	The stand is included. It is flimsy and the holes are not lined up well. Whole thing is flimsy and poorly designed.

Answer:	Maybe this will help. The metal sanding disk does not slide on the motor mount. It slides on a shaft. Re- read the installation manual.

Answer:	42" is the next size up from 30" . 42" is very common

Answer:	Sorry to say, but yes. I paid just under 200 for mine. Although I like MOST Grizzly products, this one did not work out as well for me. I was using it to grind blades for knifemaking. It's okay for LIGHT woodworking......but that's about all. I think the JET brand may have something comparable to this one, but probably better quality. More money for sure though. I did buy a 2 inch Belt sander from Sears. A Craftsman, it's a little underpowered, but is good quality. I tend to use it much more. Also, Harbor Freight has a 1in by 30 inch belt sander that I bought one time. It was way cheaper than the Grizzly. But it was okay for light work. If you really want the Grizzly, you might do well to buy directly from them instead of Amazon. I find the prices on Amazon to be higher on average when buying Grizzly products. Good luck!

Question:	Can you replace the disc with a buffing wheel
Answer:	Yes if you use the right type of sand paper. Sand paper that is meant for metal.
Question:	Is there a dust collection port on this unit
Answer:	Uses a 4" x 36" belt and a 6" disc. But this unit doesn't have much power. I bought another one from Harbor Freight and it had more guts but then went to a 6 x 48 with a 9" disc.
Question:	What size is the v-belt, or where can i get one? the motor drive belt, not the sanding belt. thanks
Answer:	The same unit is sold under the Ryobi, Wen, and one or two other brands. They carry different warranties and it’s possible there are differences in the electronics but they’re the same cast iron frame and 4.3 amp motor.

Does this sander have different speeds or is it just on or off

Answer:

I don't smoke pipes but do own this lighter and think it may be too strong, it gets really hot and depending on the pipe material could even melt it..but for the tobacco I think it would burn it too much too fast to enjoy it. I may be wrong about that since I don't smoke tobacco pipes, but it certainly is too strong to use to light cigarettes with. It's a great lighter to start fires with which is what I use it for.
