User questions & answers
Question: | Do I need a mixer or can i just have a phantom box |
Answer: | You don't need phantom power it is dynamic mic |
Question: | What kind of chord is needed for this mic to connect to a speaker |
Answer: | It can't be directly connected to a speaker, it needs to go through a pa system, in which case you would need an XLR (3-prong) chord. If you're talking about one of those block rocker speakers, like the ones they sell at costco, then you would need the female xlr/ to male 1/4 inch chord. I hope this helps. |
Question: | Does this require phantom power ? or can this be operated under normal circumstances ? can this replace a shure sm58 directly |
Answer: | Because this is a dynamic microphone it does not require phantom power. It could be used as a direct replacement for a sm58 |
Question: | is there a way to plug it into a pc to record it and if there is how would u do it |
Answer: | You will need an audio interface, or a mixer built-in USB/Audio Interface. I would recommend you a Behringer Xenyx Q502USB, this mixer can do the job. And how to record audio? with a simple audio recording program like Audacity. |

For 70 years, the world’s top recording studios and concert stages have relied on AKG microphones to craft today’s biggest hits. AKG Lyra brings that legendary acoustic engineering to a versatile USB microphone that delivers the highest-quality audio in its class.
Inside, advanced circuitry delivers acoustically transparent, 4K-compatible, Ultra HD-grade, 24-bit/192kHz audio resolution. Lyra’s internal self-adjusting shock mount minimizes contact noise, and its built-in sound diffuser and AKG’s proprietary Internal Element Overload Prevention automatically reduce noise, eliminate pops and improve signal levels.
Your Built-In Recording Engineer: AKG Adaptive Capsule Array
Whether you’re recording a podcast interview, a YouTube video voice-over, or your next Spotify single, Lyra’s innovative AKG Adaptive Capsule Array adapts to your performance to record pristine audio. Four versatile capture modes eliminate guesswork, so you can quickly dial in professional sound.
Front
Isolates your target source from distracting background noise by rejecting unwanted sounds at the microphone back and sides. It’s perfect for recording or live-streaming spoken word, vocals, or close-miked instruments.
Front & Back
Captures and blends together sound equally on all sides; ideal for face-to-face interviews and duets.
Tight Stereo
Captures audio in true stereo. Because this setting provides discrete left and right audio, it provides great sound separation for side-by-side interviews or panel discussions, and is perfect for recording instruments like drums or piano.
Wide Stereo
Captures audio with greater stereo separation, room ambience, and depth. This setting is ideal for situations where you want to capture sounds all around the mic, such as documentaries, field recordings, or spontaneous jam sessions.
Plug-and-Play Simplicity
With AKG Lyra, you’ll be up and running in no time, no matter your experience level. There’s no assembly, no need for a separate audio interface, no fiddling with software settings—it just works, right out of the box. And Lyra is compatible with Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices so you can quickly capture your ideas in the studio or on the go. From recording music in a digital audio workstation to live streaming on Twitch to shooting a YouTube video, using Lyra is as easy as plugging in a USB cable and pressing Go Live or Record.

That’s why Lyra is equipped with a “zero-latency” headphone jack, which eliminates the short delay between when you perform into the microphone and when you hear yourself in the headphones, so you can stay focused on your performance.

User questions & answers
Question: | when buying this product is only the microphone next and also includes the microphone and receiver, I wonder as the title says single microphone |
Answer: | it comes with the receiver and power jack as well. the reason it says single is that some sets come with 2 or more microphones with receiver. this has one of each. hope this helps |
Question: | What are the dimensions of the receiver |
Answer: | about 8 inches wide, 8 inches deep and 2 inches high. Allow room for the two antennas located on the back panel. All-in-all a good outfit for the price. |
Question: | Hi, My speaker system connects to computer and this mic will be used to collect sound and broadcast via Skype Conference calls. Does it work for this |
Answer: | Hi, it is my pleasure to answer you this question. This is a great mic, its sound is totally professional, and you can use it for conference call via skype, but you need to know that receiver´s output is 1/4 plug. you must have a 1/4 plug cable male to male, one extreme is going to be connected to the receiver and the other must be connected to an interface. there are many interfaces models in the market you can choose any of them but preferably you need to choose an USB interface, so this way you connect 1/4 plug cable to the receiver, and the other extreme to the interface you choose and finally USB interface´s output to your computer. Easy like that. This is the right way to connect this professional mic to your computer, so you can control volume level through "knobs"..... But listen You also can connect directly to your computer sound card via adapter 1/4 (female) to 3.5mm (male) MONO, because receiver´s output is only mono, receiver+mono cable 1/4 male to male+adapter 1/4 female 3.5mm male(mono) but take care with this way to connect because the quality is not so best like the first, you can not compare the sound of an interface with a computer sound card, and if you are a pro............. I hope this answer can help you, I am from Venezuelan voice over, and I work for History Channel LatinAmerica and many others channels and radio, also I am an audio technician and I feel a lot of passion for this world. visit and my website. www.jorgemarin.net you´ll need translate it with google. see you. Good luck. |
Question: | Can I just plug and play this microphone into a Denon receiver, or does it require a mixer |
Answer: | It will work with any amplifier same as an ordinary Mic (Just wireless). Thanks |

User questions & answers
Question: | Why are these microphones called mini |
Answer: | Because the base (receiver) is small and provides the technology for the two microphones to receive their signals. The microphones have a regular size. |
Question: | is this the US 25 BD frequency programmed version |
Answer: | Not sure what "BD" means but yes, this is the US version, we are using it at Church in the Fellowship Hall and for small settings, not for the Service (this is not a highly professional system, more for a small budget) |
Question: | Should I get this one or should I get 2 of the single mic packs |
Answer: | I would advice to do your homework check the frequencys on your area! This mics are great, but if you get 2 units make sure they are not the same frequencys or channels. I hope was able to help. The single unit have2 different frequencys. |
Question: | hat type cable from this unit to amp? says 1/4 balanced output |
Answer: | very simple its a 1/4 output from receiver to what ever input to your amp needs. so there its 1/4 to 1/4 if your amp call for 1/4 input or 1/4 to XLR If your calls for the XLR input. personally i use XLR As its give a better sound over the 1/4. that just's my choice |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the difference between a mic with just a cardoid and one with a super cardoid |
Answer: | Super Cardioid picks up sound in a narrower cone, for more side rejection, compared to normal Cardioid. If you look online you can find images that illustrate the difference. We can't post those images here or I'd do that for you. |
Question: | Will this microphone work with the mini pro transmitter? Our microphone that cake with the transmitter is broken and we just need a microphone |
Answer: | My guess is no because usually electret condenser mics a usually used with wireless transmitters. This mic is a dynamic. |
Question: | Do i need a 48V Phantom to use |
Answer: | No. This is a dynamic mic. |
Question: | Can it be the replacement for Shure SM |
Answer: | The only difference between the two mics is that the shure has a cardioid pattern where the akg is dynamic. I use it in a studio setting for vocals, can't beat it for the price. |

TECHNICAL SPECS:
Also Comes With:
Blucoil 10-FT Balanced XLR Cable
The 10-foot Blucoil cable interconnects your microphone to an audio interface, mixer, or preamp. It is made with premium Male-to-Female Neutrik-equivalent Zinc Alloy connectors that are protected with a high-density PVC jacket. The 92% shielding protects your audio signal from EMI and RFI. The OFC wire ensures that the best possible conductivity is provided. The Blucoil Balanced XLR Cable also avoids unwanted lost signals or degeneration.
Blucoil Pop Filter Windscreen
The premium Blucoil Microphone Pop Filter Windscreen features a 2-layer mesh with a 6-inch diameter. It blocks the air blasted from the user's mouth and disperses any remaining air pressure. So, by the time your recorder has captured your vocals, there are no hisses or popping sounds.

Answer: | You can use the either of AKG KM259/5, KM210/6, or KM256/80 mic stand. |
Question: | what adapter do i need to connect this to a macbook |
Answer: | First of all, the AKG P120 is a condenser microphone so it requires +48V to operate. Computers and laptops do not supply sufficient phantom power for condenser mics. We recommend getting an audio interface, mixer, or mic preamp that supplies +48V phantom power and can be connected to you Macbook's port. |

Offering the pure studio sound you’ve grown to love, housed in a worry-free durable housing, you can now focus on your vocal performance rather than the performance of your microphone. Spend a few minutes with the AKG C636, and you’ll realize you’ve never held a mic like this. Its proprietary double-shock suspension system provides unparalleled rejection of handling noise. And the C636 doubles down on keeping your performance flawless by incorporating a state-of-the-art, multi-layer pop noise rejection system that eliminates plosives, and a road-tested, cardioid polar pattern that eliminates feedback. A New Approach to Broad-Spectrum Feedback Rejection The C636 essentially eliminates feedback by combining a uniform cardioid polar pattern throughout the entire frequency spectrum with a specially designed suspension and grille for the capsule. This unique approach to housing the capsule avoids unwanted sound reflections on the back of the capsule from stage sound sources, the most common cause of feedback in other microphones. Triple Pop Noise Protection When AKG artists told us that “pops were the enemy, ” we listened and incorporated a multi-layer protection system to provide singers with clear, plosive-free vocal performances. The protection system spares no expense and consists of the grille, a foam layer behind the grille and a magnetically attached computer-modeled mesh layer on top of the capsule. This triple-layer protection system is virtually unique to AKG and is not found in any microphone remotely near this price range. Rugged Construction With extremely rugged zinc alloy construction and a spring steel grille, the C636 stands up to the most demanding tour schedules.
