4 best tools air nailers
Air nailers, also known as pneumatic nailers or nail guns, are power tools commonly used in construction, carpentry, and woodworking. These tools are designed to drive nails into various materials with ease and precision. Here's what you should know about air nailers:
Types of Air Nailers:
- Brad Nailers: Brad nailers are used for delicate and detailed work. They use thin, small-gauge nails (brads) that leave minimal marks and are suitable for attaching trim, molding, and other finish work.
- Finish Nailers: Finish nailers use slightly larger nails than brad nailers and are ideal for tasks like installing baseboards, crown molding, and window casings.
- Framing Nailers: Framing nailers are heavier-duty tools used for framing houses, building decks, and other structural applications. They use larger nails and can drive them into tough materials like lumber and plywood.
- Roofing Nailers: Roofing nailers are specifically designed for attaching roofing materials like shingles or sheathing. They are equipped with adjustable depth settings to control nail penetration.
- Staplers: Some pneumatic nailers are designed for stapling tasks. These are commonly used in applications such as upholstery, carpeting, and attaching insulation.
Pneumatic Operation: Air nailers are powered by compressed air from an air compressor. They use this compressed air to drive nails or staples into materials with significant force.
Efficiency and Speed: Air nailers significantly speed up the nailing process, making them a preferred choice in professional construction and woodworking environments. They eliminate the need for manual hammering and reduce hand fatigue.
Accuracy: Air nailers are known for their accuracy and precision, ensuring that nails are driven consistently and at the desired depth, which can result in a neater and more professional finish.
Safety Features: Many air nailers are equipped with safety features, such as trigger locks and contact trip mechanisms, to prevent accidental discharges and enhance user safety.
Nail Size and Angle: Different air nailers can accommodate various nail sizes and angles, depending on the specific task and material being worked on.
Maintenance: Proper maintenance of air nailers is crucial to their longevity and performance. This includes regular cleaning, lubrication, and the use of appropriate nails or staples.
Safety Considerations: Users should always follow safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate eye and ear protection, when operating air nailers. Additionally, keeping the tool pointed away from the body and others is essential to avoid accidents.
Air nailers are versatile and valuable tools in the construction and woodworking industries. Choosing the right type of nailer depends on the specific project requirements and materials being used. Always refer to the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines when using these power tools.

|
![]() Center of gravity is close to the trigger for optimal balance. |
![]() Compact size easily fits between 16" joists, rafters, and on-center studs. |
Ideal for professional framing work, the PowerMaster Plus drives 2" to 3-1/2" 30-degree clipped and full-head papertape nails with .113" - .131" diameters in engineered lumber, so you can handle decking, sub-assembly blocking, sheathing, and trussing of all types. And when you're tackling a big job, you'll be grateful for the PowerMaster Plus's high-capacity one-piece aluminum magazine, which holds up to 84 nails (two strips).
Sequential Operation for Greater Efficiency
With the PowerMaster Plus you can choose either manual or sequential operation and drive up to 12 nails per second--the barrel-shaped nose will ensure an easy line of sight when nailing. To keep things simple, a durable work contact element adjusts on the tool--not the compressor--for precise depth of drive, so you'll be sure to get the right depth for the job. To top it off, the contact element is specially designed to securely grip wood during toenailing.
Big Power in a Compact Package
Weighing just 8.4 pounds and operating at 80-120 psi (5.5-8.3 bar), the PowerMaster Plus delivers over 10% more power per pound than the competition. Offering all the muscle you need to drive through engineered lumber. This tool is surprisingly easy to handle.
To save you time and energy, the PowerMaster Plus features an ergonomic design that places the center of gravity close to the trigger, providing optimal balance and the lowest recoil of a tool of its size. And with a soft-grip handle, it's comfortable to hold, even during all-day jobs.
Incredibly compact, the PowerMaster Plus has a height of just 13.3", so it will easily fit between 16" joists, rafters, and on-center studs. A rafter hook--which is located on the magazine and can be moved out of the way when it's not needed--makes it easy to hang the PowerMaster Plus on your tool belt, ladder, or rafter.
For further ease of use, this pneumatic nailer features an adjustable air-deflector cap and a main valve that improves airflow and performance over a wide range of operating conditions. A bolt-on-end plug makes for quick service and secure compressor attachments.
The PowerMaster Plus is backed by a 90-day limited warranty on wear parts, a six-month limited warranty on magazine parts, and a one-year limited warranty on housing and cap parts.

User questions & answers
Question: | I understand this does not come with any air fittings, so what are people using? 1/4" fittings with 3/8" hoses or 3/8" fittings with 1/2" hoses |
Answer: | This comes with s reducer bushing which I used and am using 1/4" fitting and 1/4" hose without any issues. |
Question: | Is any of the paslode make for plastic collated nails |
Answer: | No. All paper. |
Question: | Nail gun misfires why |
Answer: | When you load nails into the magazine, don't let the magazine slide ram into the nails. It seems a lot of people think it is ok to release the slide at the bottom without guiding it with there hand. The speed and momentum of the slide, unattended will crush the paper back between the nails and cause misalignment when it reaches the firing mechanism. Which results in many misfires. Straight nail magazines will misfire much less. |
Question: | Can this be used for baseboards or doing cabinets |
Answer: | The smallest nail is 2" x .113 -- definitely not for cabinets or any finish work..... |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work with Campbell Hausfeld FP209499 3-Gallon Air Compressor |
Answer: | They are shiped from Amazon FBA centers and come with prime for 1-2 days. Otherwise they are made in China but we used quality materials. The glass is thick and heavy for example. With China you get what you paid for. There are very high quality staff as well as very low. They importer always knows what he paid for. We paid for good quality. |
Question: | Would a 1 gallon compreesor and a psi of 110 operate this |
Answer: | Hello, I am very sorry, its a little confusing the way Amazon listings work. This product has a variation with granite stones that is out of stock right now, but the reviews are mixed, on every review says for which product it is for. This whiskey gift box is with stainless steel cubes, exactly like on the pictures in the listing. Still we don't have customers review pictures for this kind. You have the chance to be the first one if you are willing to do it and we will highly appreciated. Hope this was helpful. Thank you very much for reaching us. Happy Holidays and best wishes! Paul |
Question: | The driver blade broke on my nailer with less than 3 months from date of purchase and light use. What is the correct replacement part number |
Answer: | Yes, this is not a lead crystal. Still heavy built and strong, but not as heavy as the lead crystal. Lead crystal also would be more expensive, but this not with lead for sure. Thank you for asking. |
Question: | what gauge nails does this nailer shoot |
Answer: | In theory, this would probably work as long as you didn't heat them in your microwave. However, we recommend using them for their intended purpose of chilling rather than heating. Cheers! -Doug Frolk Customer Support Specialist |
