Answer:	It is not variable speed. You need to set the speed depending what material you're working with. Setting the speed is very easy, and only takes a few seconds. Just need to move the belt, which is easily accessed on the top. I have never owned or operated a drill press with variable speed. Speed needs to be set.

Answer:	Don't get this thing! Mine had missing important parts , it's only 14 inches tall, and I have yet to use it. ALSO, there was a manifest sheet inside with a $70 price tag! You'll be better off getting one sold in your own country where you'll more than likely get your money's worth and doesn't have a 300% (I assume tariff) markup.
Question:	Is this unit capable of milling small bits of steel
Answer:	Can't see why not, other than playing it safe with small cuts, you should just be mindful of your tooling and speeds/feeds. Make sure your using the appropriate tooling, HSS is best with soft materials such as Alum, brass, low carbon steel, but with harder materials high carbon steel and titanium you will need carbide or cemented carbide tooling. Tools typically tell you if it's ok for that material type and their nominal speed (max rpm)

Answer:	I doubt that it is rigid enough for quality work. I bought this because it's lightweight. It's easy for a 70 year old to use, but it's not strong like the Grizzly. I did get some chatter just milling untempered aluminum. I bought the heaviest (most expensive) version of this little table.

Question:	No setup instructions included. when i try to open link to manual "this xml file does not appear to have any style information." how do i setup
Answer:	Join the Facebook users group "Sainsmart CNC Router User Group" you'll find links to most stuff and people to help.
Question:	So no power supply comes with this and is there anything I would need to begin using it
Answer:	Hi , this mahcine does come with power supply , pls check the package and let us know if the item you received comes without it , we will reach you at the soonest
Question:	Do you guys have a version with auto homing, or a kit for it
Answer:	The software and control board that come with the machine CAN support homing, You have to add limit switches and change some settings. The Facebook group for this machine has a document on How to do this that I wrote. Mine will home perfectly now. You can also add a Z-probe and E-stop if desired.
Question:	the body can handle an upgrade of spindle? 300 watts for sure cant mill non ferous metals
Answer:	YES， but pls make sure the spindle you replace must be 775 spindle

Question:	What is the maximum RPM of the included spindle
Answer:	It is 10000rpm.
Question:	Can a z-axis probe be used with this cnc router
Answer:	Yes. If you are auto-leveling for a PCB milling operation, you simply connect a wire from A5 on the controller board to the cutter bit and make sure the copper-clad top surface of the PCB is grounded (negative side of power supply). When performing the Auto-level operation (probing), the Z-axis moves down until signal on A5 has been grounded. Using a separate probe may be a bit more complicated as the probe will probably require +5/+12 volts and/or GND. Still, the active-low probe signal is applied to A5. Using an active-high probe would probably require modification of the GRBL firmware. Do not apply more than +5V to the A5 input!
Question:	Could this carve and engrave pistol grips out of wood or plastic
Answer:	Yes, absolutely. But the quality may be hit or miss based on the end mill and material.
Question:	If vented properly, can this cut 1/2" or 3/4" polyurethane foam sheets? If so, will it leave a clean edge
Answer:	The cut foam board smells too strong. It is also easy to burn off the foam, so cutting the foam is not recommended. Thank you!

Question:	Can i use the cnc 3018 to cut holes in 1/8 aluminum plate by cutting a small amount at a time. like engraving but going deeper on each pass
Answer:	This machine not suitable to cut on alumiun. This engraving machine can engrave plastic, wood, acrylic, pvc, pcb or the like material. Drill bit can not engrave hard metal, jade or other hard materials.
