Answer:	Hi. First off, regardless of which you decide on, your're going to love this impact wrench. I've used mine A LOT and couldn't be happier. Which mount you would want to choose depends on the work you're planning. The hog ring (just a friction fit holding ring) is optimal if you want to change sockets quickly. It is however not as secure a mount as the pin mount. The pin mount is exactly like it sounds, a spring loaded pin that snaps into the socket's through hole. Don't confuse this pin mount with the ball type mount used on say a socket wrench. Whereas the spring loaded ball on a socket wrench allows you to snap a socket on and off by hand, the pin mount is a pin, not a ball. It's a much more secure mount that doesn't allow the socket to come off without pushing on the end of the pin with something like a nail while pulling on the socket. I like the pin mount because it won't come off when you're doing something like removing lug nuts. If you plan on constantly changing sockets, I'd probably choose the friction ring i.e. the hog ring. Answer:	I have to agree with Kokanuts on his answer and assuming all tire places torque to required specs it does not consider people that work with air impacts. I bought this thinking the same thing as Kokanuts explained but when trying to break some lug nuts on a truck that I had recently changed the tires on in order to rotate the tires, I saw they were grossly over-torqued. air impacts I know can get up to the 1000's in ft-lbs so be wary, my Makita XWT08z in the other hand made easy work of the bolts. only have had one bolt my xwt08z wasnt able to break, but i think it was because of doodoo sockets. tl;dr -- air impacts
