Question:	Wher do you oil this tool? I do not see a place to do this
Answer:	Impacts need lubrication in two spots. The inlet and the hammer mechanism. Ready your owners manual for the procedure. Some have and oil plug and some are taken down and greased by hand.

Answer:	I got the 1/2" Tekton sockets and extensions and they've worked very well for me. Just be sure to check out the sizing of the sockets. One of the metric sets has bigger sockets but not sequentially getting larger (they skip some sizes). I got the 11mm-23mm I think. Has all the sockets in there. Recommend the gun? Absolutely.
Question:	Trigger gets stuck on mine. I release trigger and it keeps going. Gun is only a yr old. Any ideas
Answer:	Sounds like the spring is hanging up inside. Not sure if you registered with IR or not but I would think that's covered. Haven't had that problem with any other Ingersoll impacts though.

Answer:	Being a heavy duty diesel mechanic I use this gun every day, as for trigger control you need do be pretty accurate when pulling it in to feather the air flow, I will use it to loosen 3/8 bolts but not 1/4. Also I'm not one to mess around with the power level. To top it off our shop air is at 160psi so you shouldnt have a problem. 160 psi creates one snappy gun!, does sacrifice some life though.
Question:	Can some one tell me how to lubricate the unit
Answer:	The only lubrication I use on all my air tools is a few drops of air tool oil into the air inlet before use each day. The alternative is to use an automatic oiler on the supply air line.. The automatic oiler is only used on air lines that are used for air tools only as the oil will contaminate the hoses if they are also used for spray painting etc....I hope this is of help for you.... Answer:	No it can not. It has a 1/2 impact socket tip on it that isn't removable. This tool was strictly designed to be used with 1/2 sockets.
Question:	What’s the difference between an impact driver and an impact wrench? I see Dewalt has both
Answer:	Impact drivers are usually smaller (using 1/4" hex drive) for driving in smaller screws. Impact wrenches are larger and deliver more power, and are usually 3/8" square drive and larger. Impact wrenches are usually for loosening and fastening large nuts and bolts. They both operate in a similar manner- they use rotational hammering action to twist the fastener. Compared to a traditional drill or ratchet that applies continuous force, impact drivers and wrenches are able to exert much more force by "pulsing" the force in a twisting fashion, in several short, but powerful blows. This results in less reactionary torque (tool trying to pull out of your hands), less stripped screwheads and much higher power- useful for driving long, or stuck screws/bolts.

Question:	whats the difference between hog ring and detent pin
Answer:	The ring offers spring tension to sockets to retain it on the drive and the pin offers another means of retaining socket on drive by locking into the hole on drive side of sockets. The pin works great to keep impact swivel sockects from flying off. However, they are harder to remove from drive of impact. You actually have to push the pin down to remove socket. Unlike the retaining ring, you would simply pull off.

Answer:	Milwaukee’s 5 year warranty is from the purchase date (from a valid retailer) or from the date code on the tool if you don’t have a proof of purchase from a valid/approved retailer. I’ve had warranty repairs under both circumstances.

Question:	How easy is it to remove a socket? Do you have to press the pin, or can you just pull it off? The hog ring version doesn't seem to be available
Answer:	I honestly think the hog ring is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Detente is better. Not hard to use at all. It won't wear out. The hog ring will be good for about a year.
Question:	can you use the battery 20v max lithium ion 1.5ah with this tool
Answer:	Yes 20V is all that matters. You can use any 20V Dewalt battery with any 20V Dewalt tool. Still the amp rating directly determines how long the battery will last. So using 1.5AH battery will only drive half as many screws/bolts compared to a 3AH battery before the battery is dead but it will still work.
Question:	Amazon lists the torque at 300 ft lbs while the DeWalt site lists it at 400 ft lbs. Which is it
Answer:	I'm not going to bulls#!t anyone. I never used this product, BUT typically the max torque of Impact Wrenches is in reverse. So maybe it's 400 ft.-lbs. in reverse and 300 ft.-lbs. foward? I don't know.

Question:	using 1 of the 3 speeds ,is there anyway to set the torque to 100 ft-lbs
Answer:	The manual states that the maximum torque values for each speed are 100/300/700. So if you set it to Speed 1 then the maximum torque it will deliver is 100 ft-lbs.
Question:	Dofference between dcf899m1 and dcf899b
Answer:	Dewalt codes are as follows B = bare tool. No battery. C = Compact (1.5Ah) battery. D = 2Ah compact battery. L = 3Ah battery. M = 4Ah battery. P = 5Ah battery. T = 6Ah Flexvolt battery. X = 9Ah Flexvolt battery. DCF899 = Detent pin version. DCF899H = Hog ring version. So, DCF899M1 is detent pin with 1 4Ah battery. If you see something like DCF899HP2, that means hog ring version with 2 5Ah battery. Otherwise, whether it's DCF899B or DCF899M1 or DCF899P1, the tool itself is EXACTLY the same.

DCF899M1 is the DCF899 impact with detent anvil sold as a kit with charger, one (1) 4Ah battery, and a bag. DCF899P1 is the DCF899 impact with detent anvil sold as a kit with charger, one (1) 5Ah battery, and a bag. DCF899P2 is the DCF899 impact with detent anvil sold as a kit with charger, two (2) 5Ah batteries, and a bag. DCF899HP2 is the DCF899H impact with hog ring anvil* sold as a kit with charger, two (2) 5Ah batteries, and a bag *Difference between detent and hog ring: Detent holds socket more securely but must be put on so pin lines up with hole in impact socket & will need a small screwdriver or the like to release. Hog ring allows one to put on and pull off impact sockets by hand, though usually pretty difficult at first until broken in. Of course you should only use impact sockets/extensions If you put a hand socket (usually chrome) on a hog ring it will lock on and you will need a tool to get it off because the indentations are different. That's also a good way to break the hog ring, but if that happens they are cheap and easy to replace. Detents are usually more suited for situations where socket changes are infrequent like in a factory setting & hog rings for where frequent changes are needed like automotive work.
Question:	My boyfriend mentioned briefly he wanted a dewalt gun that apparently is so strong that he can change tires within minutes with it. could this be it
Answer:	Yes. This could be it. This is currently Dewalts newest and strongest cordless impact wrench. You might want to look for the one that comes with batteries and a charger if he doesn't have that already. Be mindful that this model comes with two variations: hog ring and detent anvil. Detent anvil holds the socket tighter but uses a tool (which is probably included)to change the sockets while hog ring holds the socket on with a split washer but doesn't require a tool. Great tool though with either option.
