Answer:	The advantage to having a variable speed is two fold: The slower speed is generally used for sharpening and honing while the higher speed is for removing material faster and buffing/polishing with a polishing wheel or wire wheel. The slower speed creates less friction and therefore less heat while the higher speed (with a grinding wheel) creates more heat.

Answer:	If you are serious about making knives, I would get heavier and mote powerful.
Question:	How do you secure it to the workbench
Answer:	2 holes at the bottom for bolts to secure to a bench. Place Bench Grinder on workbench, use holes as a template and mark with pen the 2 positions for the bolts. Remove Grinder, drill holes and secure with bolts, washers and nuts. Ten minutes.

Answer:	Guards are removable, I would not recommend any type of grinding with them removed though. Be careful.

Answer:	I have no idea. I don't know if you can get a polishing wheel on this thing.I know that you can't use an 8" wire brush,stalls instantly because no clearance from the guard. Manufacturer should have advised. Not crazy about this product. If it wasn't so much trouble to return,would have done so immediately.

If it was 100% efficient, which is not possible by the Laws of Physics, it would be 504 divided by 746 or .676 HP. Since most motors are only 90% efficient, that would be .676 times .9 = .608 HP. Answer:	120V AC 60Hz single-phase, amperage not listed, but it is a 3/4 HP motor and if it's requirements are similar to my 3/4 HP drill press, it will draw in the neighborhood of 9A

Answer:	The Bench Grinder is rated at 3/4hp @ 3550RPM and the arbor is 5/8". That said, it is not the most powerful grinder I have used. It takes a little while to get up to speed, but once it is at max rpm it seems to have enough power.
Question:	What is the Volt/Amperage
Answer:	This attachment is probably the best sharpener on the market for someone not working as a professional. I doubt you'll risk ruining the temper of your blade, but if you are unsure of how much heat is being generated when you are using it, put your fingers on the knife and apply the most gentle of pressure. If you are feeling enough heat that you have to remove your fingers, you're pushing too hard. If you move your blade about 1 inch per second with proper pressure, the blade will not heat up enough to burn you, or anywhere near enough to ruin the temper on the blade. If you feel like you need to put more pressure to remove metal faster, you should drop down to a more coarse belt instead.

Answer:	This is very good making flat grinds. Both on handles and blades. However, for shaping handles from blank to finish, I would suggest a spindle sander like the combo by Ridgid.

Answer:	I've used it several times for light grinding without it being mounted and it stayed in place very well. The grinding was for sharpening mower blades and some light shaping, nothing that required more than very light pressure on the grinder. With that being said, if it is not mounted, even with light grinding it can 'walk' around so it's important to keep an eye on it and make sure that it stays in a safe position.

Question:	Does this Sunex 5002A have rear exhust ports on the backs of the wheel shrouds as do some other makes and models
Answer:	It does not have bad vibration, but since you apply pressure to grind you will have to have it bolted to be stationary. I saw a review on it not to over tighten it down, so I made it tight, but did not really torque it down. I have very little vibration and it is a great grinder.
Question:	Can it use a 1-inch wide grinding wheel
Answer:	China....I'm sorry to say.....it's a good one though.....I've been trying to burn it out and can't!!!
Question:	vibration do you have to bolt it down
Answer:	The goose neck by itself is 7.25" long, total length including the light is 11" long.
Question:	where is this grinder built
Answer:	110v AC...there is no other plug receptacle for DC power
