User questions & answers
Question: | What kind of thread is on the vise screw? The original Record vise had a buttress thread. Are these square, buttress or acme |
Answer: | We recommend you use a moderate to hard wood. Oak would make a good option for the jaw face plate. |
Question: | what kind of wood should the jaw faces be made of |
Answer: | I've got 2 inches of wood jaws and the overall length is right about 16", so I'd say 16-18". |
Question: | what is overall length of vise |
Answer: | On mine, I measure a bit over 4-1/16" between outer extremities of the guide rods; the width of the plate and bracket that bolts to the face / underside of the bench I measure just about over 7-1/8" wide. |
Question: | What is the width (the distance between the outermost edges) of the rods that go under the tabletop? And that piece holding them together? Thanks |
Answer: | Sorry to hear about your knife, Douglas! Please send our team a message at this link corellebrands.com/consumer-care. We'd be happy to help with the warranty. |

Question: | Does the bench screw come with a end plate so a wood plate can be |
Answer: | Not without some serious modifications |
Question: | Can you add a spinning/pivoting “foot” end (opposite end of handle |

Question: | Does the bench screw come with a plate so a wood disc can be mounted on the end of the threads that will swivel |
Answer: | Yes. The front part of the bench screw, which holds the handle, is 1-1/2" diameter. Then there is a 3/4" diameter by 1/4" wide groove, followed by a 1-3/16" diameter by 1/8" wide flange, before we get into the threaded section. |
Question: | Is there a groove at the front of the handle just before the threads where a garter or flange could be inserted to make a collar for a vise face |
Answer: | Ian, did the research then when and looked at my vise which is the Fox D4327 and the threads are definitely buttress. |

Answer: | If your surface is a typical "orange peel" texture then yes. It would work very well and cover up the texture. If you would like to send us an image via Amazon or ezfauxdecorataoldotcom of your surface we can best assist you. |
Question: | Looks pretty good on a mobile screen, but why does it cost so much |
Answer: | Yeah i did it looks great! |
Question: | How big are the square pads that the table top sits on |
Answer: | when you say wall damage, i assume when you remove it.it depends on the material of the wall (sheet rock, mdf board, concrete, etc.), and what's already on the wall. if the wall has been painted, there's a good chance of not having a wall damage when removed. if the wall has wallpaper, the wallpaper might come-off when you remove this film.try it in a small/hidden portion of the wall as a test. |
Question: | so it's a table without a top ? so it includes 4 legs and a bottom shelf only ? no top |
Answer: | I've only used it on Formica countertops but it peels off without any damage or sticky residue. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a chuck that is 1"-8tpi female thread (nova 48111), it doesn't fit on this lathe. what adapter should i buy |
Answer: | Buy a 3/4" 16 TPI to 1" 8 TPI adapter. If you further questions go to http://www.woodturningz.com/downloads/w1704_ds.pdf for the specs on this machine. |
Question: | is there an adapter for the face plate for mounting live center chucks? I bought one but won't line up with holes |
Answer: | I'm not sure if they make the adapter to mount on the face plat. I have a 2" diameter three jaw, self centering scroll type chuck that i bought from Amazon that ihave used that works great, but i think that the holes in the face plate is for mounting a backing block to the piece of wood stock to turn a bowl. It says in the manual that you glue the block to the wood your turning and use the holes to screw the block on to face plate. Hope this helped. |
Question: | What size wood stock can it hold? How about something like 12'' long by 8" wide piece of wood |
Answer: | The length it will hold will be dependant upon what chucks you have in the head and tail stock. The bulkier the chucks, the shorter the length it will handle. I'd say it will hold 12" lengths unless your chucks are sizable. I wouldn't try more than 4" width stock unless it was short. Although the lathe may hold the stock, it would be too much for the motor. The intended purpose of this lathe is to make small things like ink pens, Christmas ornaments, small toys like tops or yo-yo's and tool handles etc. If you want to mount 12" X 8" stock you should be looking at full sized lathes. |
Question: | is there anyway to secure to a bench |
Answer: | Yes. It has has three holes in the base that you can bolt it down with. I bolted mine down on a metal stand. It holds it down real solid. Mine is the Shop Fox W1704 also. It is well built. I really like mine. Hope this helps! |

User questions & answers
Question: | How to I get a replacement leg? Just set up the bench and the bottom of the leg has broken welds |
Answer: | Butcher block finish table top measures 13" x 23" and is 30-1/2" tall. It also has a 700lb capacity. I would say yes. but it is a Craftsman.... |
Question: | Is this bench tall enough for a Craftsman Bench Top drill press |
Answer: | Too many people have offered that it doesn't matter since they were clever enough to re-drill and tap their own size. I just wanted to confirm Frank Franz's helpful answer that these are M8 metric threads and Amazon does have locking casters that fit - just verify the thread on the casters is M8 and they fit just fine. I use the table as a base for a buffing station with 14" buffing wheels on a 36" wide shaft and the base is plenty stable. |
Question: | Shop Fox D2056 Tool Table - can casters be screwed into legs? What size threaded post is needed |
Answer: | Do you already have the Tool Table? If so, take the screw off of one leg of the table and take it to a hardware store or a lumber yard. The people who work there should have a gauge that will tell you the size of the screw and the thread pitch. |
Question: | i want to put casters on this product, but i can't find the deminsion of the screw to the feet of this table. anybody have an idea |
Answer: | Made.in China so there probably isn't one The best advice I.I can give you is to keep in greased and to use it for light projects |

Question: | How tall and long is this vise |
Answer: | this vise is cast and made in china |
Question: | Where is this vise made? Is it steel or cast iron |
Answer: | Lol, I originally bought it too for my ar-15. Pretty sturdy product; use A R mounts and vise rubber pads and its a go. |
Question: | How well is this vise holding up? I need something for building AR-15 rifles on and for what they cost I'm needing a pretty sturdy vise |
Answer: | The widest I would go is 4 1/2 inches |
Question: | How wide a piece of wood will this vise accommodate |
Answer: | Why ask here, this is an answer forum for customers to help each other, but none of us can help you replace faulty parts. I suggest that you contact whoever you bought the table from, and request a replacement table or a spare leg. If they send a full table kit, just take one good leg of the new kit and swap with the bad leg. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can the threaded rod be shortened using a hacksaw or similar tool or is the metal too hard |
Answer: | No. Mine were cast iron. I had to drill the foot to attach with wood screws, to a wooden shoe for my project. Very well made. |
Question: | Are the white pieces plastic |

These Tilting Jaws pivot to hold non-parallel edged items with even pressure. Designed to fit Model D3125 Parrot Vise.
- D3125 parrot vise
- Solid construction
- Long lasting
User questions & answers
Question: | How wide does this vise open |
Answer: | Bob, mine came with two jaws. One side is flat and is covered with a layer of cork applied on top of a non-magnetic alloy body (the description says that it's steel -- mine are not but that doesn't hurt my use of them). The "tilt" is the shape of the back side of each part. If you lay the pieces onto a flat surface, cork side down and with the cut-out facing away from you, the side view of the jaws resembles a slightly pitched roofline (pitched down about 15 degrees from horizonal...so with both jaws in the vise, I get about 30 degrees of taper). The entire body has the same surface but the cut-out removes the ridge from the lower. In other words, mine look like they are cast then machined to the shape you see in the picture. |
Question: | When this item is purchased do you get (2) two jaws as pictured or do you get (1) one jaw and the pictures shows both sides of the (1) jaw you recd |
Answer: | Kinda. If you use only one then one side of what your working on will be pressed up against the iron jaws so it could get scratched. Plus since these are slightly taller than the jaws of the part vise it would make working on whatever you have in the jaws difficult if it was small. But using only one would be possible but kind of pointless since they come as a matched pair anyways |
Question: | Is it necessary to use two of these to make them work |
Answer: | It´s made of aluminiun... |
Question: | Is this made of steel |
Answer: | It has been hardened. You could use a cut off abrasive wheel on angle grinder. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Has anyone used this as an anvil stand |
Answer: | I think it would be fine as long as your drill is 38 inches high, and you’re not over 6’ tall. Stand with your drill would be 62” high. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Would this be too small for a 13" drill press? Drill press overall height is |
Answer: | I bought wheels for mine, so can't really answer your question. Possibly Home Depot or Lowes might have rubber caps that might work. |
Question: | Can I buy Just the rubber feet as spare part |
Answer: | The height is 24" assembled with synthetic feet attached. The top work area is 22" x 17 1/2". All dimensions are from my assembled stand. My stand has a 3/4 " plywood top and has a bench drill press attached. The power head is at the same level as my floor drill press. |
Question: | what size it this when assembled |
Answer: | The D3125 parrot vise without the tilting jaws opens to 4.75". Each tilting jaw is about 3/8" thick so the net opening of the vise with the jaws is approximately 4". Hope this helps. |
