User questions & answers
Question: | I am needing a jig for 4(in.)x4(in.)x10(ft.) wood post. i realize this wouldn't work, but can anyone recommend one that can? thanks in advance |
Answer: | As it states in the description, deflects chips and connect 2 grippers for better control of large pieces. Check the video: https://d1y6jrbzotnyjg.cloudfront.net/V3MSA/cfd7863774ee4067ae4a3c816a4fd10e/V1/ad7607ded66c4f77898c5981786beb86/ShortForm-Generic-480p-16-9-1409173089793-rpcbe5.mp4?Expires=1552759553&Signature=TXTx0fF1p4Uzt68tNOVHzaO1K4UUbz1qJoX9WVsDe~ReJnbou3MLRqyMf2qM06MydXQMud4lf2zChbFp-YQbr7t731MJ2pn~tgK64bjXMcE1ko8UnnYlzgaBtLVGA4l4YXyBvhEk9ZREzLwvu0hXURT9-OHG-TkCcq1XN-stsmg_&Key-Pair-Id=APKAJ62XWKZ35EOVO4XA |
Question: | Is it possible to use this kit with material thicker than 1-1/2 inches? I ask because the site offers spacer blocks for user with "thicker" material. It would be nice to use the kit on 2x4s for example |
Answer: | The "deflector plate" is actually a gravity operated "heel" that simply drops down and hooks on the material you are pushing. There's considerable grip in the rubber pad portion of the push block, but when you reach the end of a board or similar, the heel drops down and catches on the edge of wood, permitting easy/secure push through of the wood. |
Question: | how would i get a long piece of wood to position in the clamp, like an 8ft 2x4? I see short pieces stand up in the jig, would a long board be flimsy |
Answer: | We have a video showing how to build a GRR-RIP BLOCK Stand that magnetically mounts to your jointer! Watch it on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/3qUBe90H-Q8 |
Question: | What country is this made in |
Answer: | I don't have the Bench Dogs push pad but I do own 2 of these Gripper pads as well as several "plain" push pads. In my experience, the GRR-Rip Block is different in 2 ways. The Gripper has 4 "heel hooks" that hang over the edge of your work piece to get a better push on the end stock. And it can also be used on its edge (it have been formed with a 90 degree angle) so you can push stock on a router table or to stabilize wood while re-sawing on a band saw (and this is where those hooks really help). But the price of the Gripper is 2-1/2 times the Bench Dog, so the question would be: is the GRR-Rip Blockr twice as good as the Bench Dog. And I would probably say no to that. But the ultimate decision is of course yours. Hope this helped. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how many screws |
Answer: | Mine came with just a few sample screws but I have an assortment of a couple thousand screws so it was no matter. I make furniture in a home shop so I mostly use construction screws and furniture grade FH screws in #6, #8; in 1&1/4, 1&5/8, and 2&1/2 inches. |
Question: | What is the primary difference between the R3, R4, & R5 units and which would be better for an advanced cabinet maker |
Answer: | If you build cabinets, furniture or any think to do with joining wood the one I would recommend is the K4 or K5. The K5 is the newer version which incorporates some innovative additions. The other jigs in the system are more portable, but a lot slower to use. The K4 is perfectly adequate for my shop. Buying the kit and the "briefcase" of screws will get you up and rolling fast. The video is very enlightening. Good luck. The R3 Jr. is fine for casual use and some specialty uses as explained in the offering but if you do a lot of woodworking with Kreg the K4 & 5 are more accurate and repeatable. |
Question: | Do you have to use their screws with this tool or can you use regular wood screws you buy at any hardware store |
Answer: | I vehemently dislike the Kreg style pock hole screw (which are "modified truss" head screws) for the simple reason that I dislike square drive screws. There are other manufacturers which offer pocket hole style screws but with a No. 7 or 8 torx drive (T15 size). These are much more user friendly than square drive screws which require the drill driver to be perfect aligned with the screw otherwise the square becomes rounded out. The torx drive screws allow for some wiggle room with the alignment won't damage the screw head. |
Question: | If this is more expensive than the R3 and clamp separately and the clamp is smaller why get this kit |
Answer: | Because with this kit you become irresistable to women, your beard becomes the envy of lumberjacks and your dog can jump 4 feet high on two legs. Who would not want all of that? |

Kreg Jig R3
The Home Improver's Solution
The Kreg Jig R3 is a great way to get started building with Kreg Joinery. It's a good choice if you build a few projects each year, or if most of your projects are smaller in scale. Plus, the R3 is handy to have on hand for making repairs around the home.
Clamp Pad Adapter
The Kreg Jig R3 includes a Clamp Pad Adapter, which allows the R3 to be easily secured to your workpiece using any standard bar clamp, C-clamp, or Kreg Face Clamp. For faster and more repeatable pocket holes, choose a Kreg Face Clamp.
Material Thickness Setting
From thin drawer boxes and craft projects to stout 2x4s, this Kreg Jig R3 can handle just about anything. Independent positioning sliders feature nine depth settings, allowing you to easily join materials from 1/2 inches to 1 1/2 inches thick in 1/8 inches increments.
Secure the R3 in Tight Spots
In certain, restrictive situations where the use of a clamp is not possible, the Kreg Jig R3 can be secured in place with a common wood screw. All you have to do is drive the screw through the mounting hole on the top of the jig. This application is demonstrated in the photo.
Fix Broken Wood Joints Fast
A Kreg Jig is the perfect tool for repairing broken drawers, beat up bookcases, wobbly chairs, fractured frames, and so much more—without messy glue or nails. You’ll be amazed how easy it is to fix what you have—instead of having to replace it—using the Kreg Joinery System.
Organized Carrying Case
A compact yet durable carrying case is included so that you'll always have a safe place to store your Kreg Jig R3 and organize all of the accessories it comes with. As a bonus, a depth-collar gauge has been molded into the case for handy reference.
Glass-Reinforced Nylon
The blue body of every Kreg Jig is made from a heavy-duty, glass-reinforced nylon. This composite material offers the resiliency and flexibility you need without sacrificing the strength and durability Kreg customers have come to expect.
Superior Angle
Unlike competing jigs with a shallower angle of approach, the Kreg Jig R3 features an optimized drilling angle specifically designed to increase driving efficiency and minimize the overall size of the pocket hole. The result is a compact pocket hole, less than 1 1/2 inches in size.
Wood Chip Relief
The Kreg Jig R3 includes one wood chip relief hole for every drill guide hole, designed to keep the drill bit clear of excess wood chips, minimizing drill-torque, increasing the longevity of your drill bits, and allowing you to complete a perfect pocket hole in just one plunge.
Hardened-Steel Core
The core of every Kreg Jig features hardened-steel, which carries a lifetime guarantee. The R3’s core shrouds the bit and supports the workpiece through 100% of the drill-stroke for minimal bit deflection, reduced tear-out, and a clean, pluggable pocket hole.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work on particle board |
Answer: | For boards it will work well. If you are cutting sheet goods I would still recommend a cross cut sled, all depending on width and length of course. I isn't designed to hold board tight but its more of a stop for many cuts the same size. There is a little play in the stop, so it is not perfect, but it is workable. |
Question: | Doing small - medium sized DIY projects, what is the best jig for me? This one, the Kreg R3 Jr. or |
Answer: | It will work with any saw that has a 3/4*3/8" miter slot |
Question: | NEVER MIND ** I can't find a way to remove the question, but if anyone else is curious I did some digging around on the Kreg site last night and came across a video of the "micro", basically yes this larger set can do a 1/2" however the micro produces smaller holes which is preferred with thinner stock. I hated spen |
Answer: | The kit I purchased had the jig,a bit, two drawer box supports, two clamps , and handle /knob drilling guide. As I do custom install and have to modify in the field the entire kit has been helpful and accurate all while being easy to adjust and set up on the job . Would recommend highly! |
Question: | What does this include that the regular kit ($99) does not include? Are those items essential or useful? Trying to decide which kit to get. Thanks |
Answer: | Yes. I am a beginner, and was seeking a user friendly joining method. Kreg pocket-hole Jig is a handy tool. Practice a couple of holes on scrap wood to perfect your spacing and usage. |

Rip-Cut
Universal Sled is compatible with the Kreg Accu-Cut
The Kreg Accu-Cut is great for making straight, accurate, splinter-free cuts in plywood and other sheet goods. The saw sled accepts almost any circular saw, which allows you to turn your ordinary saw into a precision cutting tool.
One great feature of the Accu-Cut sled is that you can remove it from the Accu-Cut track, and install it on any Kreg Rip-Cut. The sled slides right onto the Rip-Cut Guide Arm and locks in place. That allows you to make long cuts, such as ripping a sheet of plywood lengthwise, with the edge-guided accuracy of the Rip-Cut.
Best of all, switching from the Accu-Cut to the Rip-Cut doesn’t require any changes to the setup on your Accu-Cut sled. No moving the saw or adjusting anything. So, when you’re ready to switch from edge-guided cutting back to track-guided cutting, all you have to do is slide the sled off the Rip-Cut, and set it back in place on the Accu-Cut track.

User questions & answers
Question: | beginner easy |
Answer: | If you mean a scribe or a wheel, then no. There is a little divot in the end of the ruler where you can rest the tip of a sharp pencil to mark a line. That would be accurate enough for most work. |
Question: | How long does the specialized drill bit last? Looks like you must buy from Kreg. Also, can I find these screws elsewhere |
Answer: | Not at all. Has 90 and 45 degrees only. ..and even in 90 and 45 it's works bad. .because it has this movement even when you tite it with the gold screw. ..it can be 88 or 92 so it's not square. ... |
Question: | i'm having difficulty deciding between this and the K4MS. Both around the same price although the K4MS seems to have extra items. Suggestions |
Answer: | The Kreg Foreman requires the use of the Kreg Quik-Bit which is included in the Kreg K5 Jig Package. |
Question: | Have you tried the K4 as well? Which do you like better |
Answer: | I started with the Jr. then moved to the K5 Master system. I am about to move up to the Foreman because I'm doing so much. This will be much easiest than using a drill, it will take it out of you after hours of drilling pocket holes even on the K5. |

Kreg Jig K5
Advanced Features for Building with Wood.
Fast, Simple Setup
When you’re ready to get started building, the Kreg Jig K5 makes it simple. Just select your screw based on the thickness of your wood, set the stop collar using the drill bit setup block, pull the spring-loaded pin to adjust the drill-guide block, and then set the workpiece clamp.
Easy Thickness Adjustment
The Kreg Jig K5 offers our simplest workpiece-clamping system ever. The ratcheting clamp simply slides into place against your workpiece. Then, you lift the handle until you hear and feel two 'clicks' and that’s it. Now your clamp is set until you change to a different material thickness.
Support with Built-In Storage
Two large support wings can be attached to both sides of the K5 base. This way, long workpieces get solid support and won’t tip. Plus, there’s a large storage compartment under the lid in each wing where you can keep your drill bits, screws and accessories close at hand, but out of the way.
Swiveling Dust Collection
The Kreg Jig K5 comes with a removable dust port that swivels from side to side so that you can position it exactly where you want it, and then attach it to a standard vacuum house. This keeps your work area free of chips and debris, makes drilling easier, and prolongs drill bit life by reducing heat.

User questions & answers
Question: | so if im building a desk out of 3/4 inch birch plywood should i buy this and use this instead of the master regular blue set i planned on getting |
Answer: | I do a lot of wood working and This jig set will go 1/2 up. I have not seen the "micro" version but this jig set will save you a lot of time and make building a lot easier and faster. just make sure to practice with some scrap wood and don't rush your project. Make sure you get the proper screws for hard or soft wood and the proper depth for the wood you are working with. and above all enjoy and have fun |
Question: | Descriptions says 1/2 stock. Do they mean 1/2 inch actual thickness or 3/8 inch actual |
Answer: | I think it has the screw pack, and maybe the clamp. I'm not exactly sure. I will tell you that this is the coolest thing I've had in my years of tinkering. I'm not an expert at making joints/joinery. But this makes things very simple, and fast. You'll need the extra packs of screws that comes with this, because you can go through a lot of screws quickly. I really liked the clamp, and actually ordered another one (although messed up and didn't get one exactly like it). These clamps could hold both houses of congress together. I'm making my first work bench in the garage, trying to use only the tools I have, power saw, drill, router. This kit makes it really go together quickly, and it looks pretty decent (not furniture grade, but I'm just trying it). I'm a 5-star believer. I think I've had it about 3 or 4 months. |
Question: | Hi, I am not understanding? My Kreg jig has a measurement for one half inch...so why do I need this |
Answer: | Most slots are standard size: From Kreg miter guage site: The extremely straight 24-inch anodized aluminum bar is 3/8-inch tall by 3/4-inch wide and features five bar adjusters that eliminate "play" in the miter slot with the turn of a screw driver. |
Question: | Will this work with all of the Kreg screws |
Answer: | I have a Grizzly, cab. saw, it works well. Pretty much universal for the grove. As for your particular saw I can not tell you 100%. But Kreg is a great company and they build a fine product. I would think all of Grizzly tables are similar in the grove. |

Micro-Pocket Drill Guide
Create More Compact Pocket Holes in the Same Kreg Joinery Applications
With a 25% smaller hole diameter, the Micro-Pocket Drill Guide lets you create compact, low-profile pocket holes in the same Kreg Joinery applications where you'd use standard Kreg pocket holes, and in a variety of other applications, too. You also have the ability to tackle smaller projects, thinner stock, and tighter repairs where standard pocket holes simply can’t go.
Choose Your Jig
Compatible with the Kreg Jig K3, K4, and K5. Features black color to differentiate from the standard Kreg Drill Guide.
Endless Applications
A 25% smaller pocket hole works great in virtually every application where you’d use standard Kreg pocket holes. And because it removes less material, drill strokes are faster and easier.
Perfect for 1/2" Stock
Screw heads seat well below the material surface in thin stock, making the Micro-Pocket Drill Guide perfect for creating fully-pluggable pocket holes in 1/2" (12mm) thick material like drawer boxes.
Perfect for Narrow Stock
Reduced width lets you drill two holes in extremely narrow stock, down to 1" wide, creating a much stronger joint in narrow pieces.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can the bars be stacked to allow for deeper cut if needed |
Answer: | Yes you can activate is on a later date. |
Question: | Are they made with metric measurements |
Answer: | I am a 120 lb female and was able to maneuver the ladder in and out of a vehicle fine by myself. When folded up it wheels around very nicely. |
Question: | These vs fastcap shims? These are only $15 more and better quality, but actually looks more cumbersome than the simple fastcap shims? Thoughts |
Answer: | gray |
Question: | Does this item work with the Kreg PRS1040 router table |
Answer: | I have the two-step version and the height is 10 inches from floor to top of first step, and the same distance between the first and second step. I use the very sturdy side handles to help me onto both. I am 70 years old and feel very safe and secure on this step ladder. |
Question: | I bought the Kreg PRS1040 and will make the cabinet shown on the Kreg website. Can this be mounted outside of the right leg |
Answer: | I would not stand on the top step to perform some sort of task unless there is a wall or something you can hold on to. And even then I would prefer to use some sort of other step ladder. I use this to climb into my boat when it is on the trailer and use all the steps with confidence. The best use for this type of ladder system is for climbing into something or to a next level but I would not recommend it in place of a handyman step ladder to perform tasks when reaching out or overhead. |
Question: | can this switch be plugged in a 20 amp circuit |
Answer: | Yes. You'll need to provide a platform to mount the corners to each other or you'd need to attach each to the machine corners. |
Question: | Is the switch rated for 3 1/4 hp routers - like the TritonTRA |
Answer: | The height added by the mobile base is a function of the thickness of the plywood that is used. For 3/4 inch plywood, the total height of the base is about 1 3/8 inches. If you wanted to increase height without using thicker plywood, a shim could be added between the plywood platform and the lower metal corners. |
Question: | Is this a magnetic switch so u don't have accidental startop in case of a power failure |
Answer: | There's not much clearance under the wheels. Maybe your floor is uneven? |
Question: | Will this git a Rikon 10-306 10 band saw |
Answer: | Are you sure you installed plywood base correctly ( at least 3/4 cd). Pay attention to front wheel pivoting brackets , I almost installed upside down. If so wheels will not down cam down and lift platform. Rear wheels always clear floor , only front wheels lift off off adjustable feet to move. I have a large drill press on mine and it moves effortlessly. . |
Question: | Do I need anything else |
Answer: | It does not. It's a pivoting seat that moves very easily, I wouldn't place anything on or in it. |
Question: | Will this fit a Grizzly G0513 17" bandsaw? I'm not opposed to making "modifications" if necessary |
Answer: | Yes, it includes the platform |
Question: | Will this fit a craftsman |
Answer: | This needs to sit on the fllor. |

Product description
TRANSFORM YOUR CIRCULAR SAW INTO A HIGH-PERFORMANCE, TRACK-GUIDED CUTTING SYSTEM Start projects right by making straight, accurate, splinter-free cuts with your circular saw and the Accu-Cut Circular Saw Guide Track System. It rips, crosscuts and makes angled cuts up to 48" long in plywood, MDF, and other large panels with super-simple setup, precise accuracy, and amazing control. The Accu-Cut guides your circular saw along an aluminum track that keeps the saw moving in a straight line easily. The Accu-Cut design makes it simple to set up by just aligning the track with your cut line. No clamps are required to hold the track in place thanks to dual guide strips. They feature an anti-slip coating to prevent slipping, and an anti-chip feature to prevent splintered cuts. Plus, the track makes it easy to make straight cuts on sheets that don't have a straight, flat edge. Circular saws don’t have effective guides that keep them moving straight along a cut line. Plus, it can be difficult to see the blade’s cutting path. Together, these things make it challenging to keep a saw on your desired cut. Circular saws also often cause splintering of face veneers. The Accu-Cut solves these problems. The Accu-Cut is portable, too, so you can take your saw to the work piece and cut with precision, rather than having to handle heavy sheets on a table saw. The Accu-Cut is easy and intuitive for a novice to use, but robust enough for professionals. Because it eliminates the need to keep the saw straight and manually guide the saw along a cut line, the Accu-Cut is ideal for less-experienced users. Accu-Cut also makes professionals faster and more productive because it makes a variety of cuts quickly and easily in the shop and on the job site.
- Rip, crosscut, and make angled cuts up to 50" Long in plywood, MDF, and panels
- Simply align the guide Track with your marks to make accurate cuts
- Hold track in place without clamps thanks to anti-slip guide strips
- Prevent splintering with anti-chip strips that support material during the cut
- Begin cuts easily with a starting block that the supports saw and allows normal blade guard operation,
User questions & answers
Question: | Will cut a 45° angle |
Answer: | Hello, Yes, you can tilt your saw blade to 45° and make the cut. Thanks! |
Question: | Does this work with a ryobi 5-1/2” p |
Answer: | It should. |
Question: | Does this require a special circular saw |
Answer: | It will work with many, but not all circular saws. |
Question: | I'm getting this as a gift for a buddy craftman. can this kma2700 accu-cut also do the same type of cutting as the kreg kma2685 rip-cut |
Answer: | Nevermind the other moronic answers. These guides each have their own distinctive purpose. One is for ‘rip’ (length-with grain) cuts and can only be used to cut strips using an existing straight edge of the sheet you’re cutting (ripping). The 2700 is for cutting any which way freely and for making your own straight guide without a reference. In other words, if you have a jagged edge on a sheet, you can use it to make a clean straight cut and then use it as a reference on a table saw. Ironically, they both (2700/2685) use the same base, so you can easily switch from one to the other. |
