Answer:	You can get it without the track. If 55 inch is too long, purchase the bare saw and use the savings to purchase their 39 inch track or Festool's 32 inch track. For smaller projects 55 inch is awkward to work with.

Answer:	I've not used the festool, but held it many times. This saw is the equaL Had mine for 3 years now. Nothing wrong with the Festool, but a cult following that allows for a greatly inflated price. i chose not to play

Answer:	Yes. But that's an "expensive" circular saw. Moreover, it wouldn't be using it to it's best advantage as what it's made for - riding in the track (the track usually cost additional OR you have to buy an additional 55" track to add to the 1 track they sell you so that you can cut full sheets of plywood). The benefit of using "track saws" is that when they are riding in the rail guides they are "captured" and don't veer off the cut line. As I posted in previously -if you buy the Makita plunge saw - get additional blades for general purpose use or ripping because it comes with a fine tooth blade which is basically only good for 3/4" or so plywood or wood and you'll burn up the Makita motor (like I did!!!!). The Makita is allegedly the most powerful of the tracksaws @ 12 amp (the others are 10 amps). However, my circular saw is 15 amps.These "tracksaws" or "plunge saws" are good for their limited use - but that use is great depending on what you're making. I would buy a cheap circular saw for general circular saw use (ie. a Skil) and keep the plunge saws for "fine" cutting.

Answer:	It is designed for 4x4 posts and cuts 4x6. It will cut the 5x5 posts and expand but only comes with 4.5 inch carriage bolts. You would have to buy 5.5 inch carriage bolts to cut a 5x5 posts. So it is possible to expand if you got a different set of bolts.

Answer:	Nevermind the other moronic answers. These guides each have their own distinctive purpose. One is for ‘rip’ (length-with grain) cuts and can only be used to cut strips using an existing straight edge of the sheet you’re cutting (ripping). The 2700 is for cutting any which way freely and for making your own straight guide without a reference. In other words, if you have a jagged edge on a sheet, you can use it to make a clean straight cut and then use it as a reference on a table saw. Ironically, they both (2700/2685) use the same base, so you can easily switch from one to the other.

Answer:	The box only holds the saw and is a typical Dewalt plastic box. The short track came in a heavy duty cardboard box, which I store mine in. I don't use it often so it's held up well. The longer track came in a nice wood box, with I keep it in and seems durable. I store both tracks in between the joists in the ceiling of my garage.
Question:	Will this fit the dewalt dwe575sb
Answer:	The clamps are not included. I have never had the track slip on me yet, but I generally hold it in place with my free hand and take my time with the cuts. I did purchase the clamps and they are really handy, especially if you are straight line ripping lumber or anything with a pre-finished surface. I always clamp the pre-finished sheets because they are pretty slick! Don't hold me to it, but I think they are made to fit a standard T-track so you could use them for other applications.

Question:	Is this guide suppose to rock side to side or sit completely flat? Even with the saw attached, the saw can still tilt
Answer:	There are to black plastic wing bolts on the saw. One on the front and another on the rear. If these are tightened down, the saw base will not sit flush on the track which could allow it to tilt side to side. There are two round knobs on the left of the saw base. These are used to tighten the saw base to the track guide.
Question:	Are there shorter versions of this track? Like 30" long
Answer:	Yeah they make a 39”, it showed up in my suggested when I was looking at tracks
Question:	Has anyone ever used this to cut a 12 foot long solid surface Corian countertop
Answer:	Yes, it works great, I've connected 3 X 55" sections with 2x connecting addaptors for each connection for extra strength. As long as you take your time to set it up straight and then check measurements at the middle before every cut it works great. I've managed to rip full 12ft sheet at just 1/2 inch wide without any issues. Hope that helps.
Question:	can this be use with any makita circula saw
Answer:	It says in the description that you can buy an adapter to use it with any circular saw (Makita 199232-5 Guide Rail Adapter for Circular Saws). Altough, having the plunge track saw would give you better cuts and will take less set up time.
