Question: | How much distance is between the mounting holes and the edge of the fixed jaw? Can it be mounted 2" from the bench edge and not overhang the bench |
Answer: | From the middle of mounting screw to the edge of fixed jaw is around 1 1/4. I have my vice mounted 1 1/4 from the edge of my bench and the mounted vice jaw is flush with the bench. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Is this chinese junk |
Answer: | My 750-E has no stamp, however, Yost states that this model is made in China. As for junk, my 750-E is undoubtedly quality made and a serious medium duty vise. I have put it through the ringer and it has surpassed my expectations. I have several vises and I now use this one more than the rest. It is an excellent piece of equipment. |
Question: | What are the size and dimensions of the mount holes |
Answer: | Mac Yoda: On the vice I received, the mount holes are 1/2 inch in diameter (I measured 0.502" with calipers). There are four mount holes arranged in a square pattern. Going around the square's perimeter, the distance between the hole centers is 4 3/16 inches (I measured 4.83 inches). |
Question: | What's the difference between the Yost 750-E and the Yost 750-DI |
Answer: | Well quite a lot is different between the 750-DI vise and the 750-E vise. The 750-DI vise is constructed with heavy duty ductile iron castings (65,000 psi tensile strength) whereas the 750-E vise is constructed with grey iron castings (30,000 psi tensile strength). The difference in the material of construction means the 750-DI vise can withstand higher torques and applied load. The 750-DI is rated to 165 ft-lb torque whereas the 750-E is rated to 95 ft-lb torque. The applied load or clamping pressure on the 750-DI is 7000 pounds whereas the 750-E is 4000 pounds. The shipping weight of the 750-DI is 63 pounds whereas the shipping weight of the 750-E is 42 pounds. The 750-DI has replaceable hardened steel pipe jaws whereas the 750-E has cast in place (non-replaceable) pipe jaws.Jaw width is the same on the 750-DI as compared to the 750-E, both at 5".Jaw opening on the 750-DI is 5" whereas the 750-E is 4".Machinists' jaw throat depth on the 750-DI is 4" whereas the throat depth on the 750-E is 3".Pipe jaw throat depth on the 750-DI is 3" whereas the throat depth on the 750-E is 2-3/4".Pipe diameter clamping capacity on the 750-DI is 1/8" - 3.5" whereas the pipe diameter clamping capacity on the 750-E is 3/8" - 3".The 750-DI has a rotating head that features a pull pin for quick adjustments in 12 different locking positions. The 750-E uses a locking set screw to lock the vise at any angle. All in all the 750-DI vise is twice as strong (robust) as compared to the 750-E vise. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the jaws made of |
Answer: | I’m not sure about a custom time frame but it does 4 hr intervals which works for us examples are 2-6pm 6pm -10pm As for temporary codes we only give out 1 at a time but you can assign up to 5 secondary codes for staff etc We love this lock as it changes the way keys were given out previously 🤗 |
Question: | Are the pipe jaws set back so they don't interfere with the throat depth when using the main jaws |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. Though the lock is designed primarily to be opened with a Bluetooth connection, it can also be opened with manual codes for which 8 numbers can be used for each code. |
Question: | Does the base extend out further than the face of the vise making clamping of long objects a problem |
Answer: | My unit does not connect to wifi. It does pair up via bluetooth with my phone. You cannot remote access it via a wifi connection, but you can activate it when your phone is close. We program in guest codes and have a master code that we use and this has worked well so far at our vacation rental. If you need a wifi enabled device, this is not it. |
Question: | Is this vise made in the USA |
Answer: | You can add a guest through the app. The guest will receive an invite. You do not need to be at the lock to add a guest. When their phone is near the lock it will sync with it. There is also a manual override you can provide and change as you need to. |

User questions & answers
Question: | where is it made |
Answer: | There are Flexvolt 20/60 batteries which will work in both 20 and 60 volt tools, but they must be from the Flex Volt line of tools they offer as the tool and battery sense one another and the correct voltage is used. |
Question: | What's the on center dimension between the mounting holes |
Answer: | No it does not. I was afraid this would be a draw back, but with two batteries (one charging in the truck) this has not been a problem. It charges quicker then it runs out. we get also a full day of use with one battery |
Question: | The 674U (4.5”) length dimension is 13.8”. Is that front to back of actual vise or does that include the handle |
Answer: | It is only for 120 volts AC. The motor will burn-up if you try. |
Question: | where is it made |
Answer: | No. The saw at its highest point is only 3 1/4 inches from table to the tip of the blade. In order to cut anything thicker you would need to flip the wood over to finish the cut. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it made out of steel or pop metal |
Answer: | This is all made out of steel and cast iron. Pot metal aka... die-cast zinc would be useless for a vise. |
Question: | Does this vise rotate 360 degrees |
Answer: | It will with a caveat. There is a channel with T-shaped receivers in it, similar to what a machinist table will utilize to hold down equipment. There is a section of cast iron directly across from each other in the channel that links the inner circle (under the vise itself), to the outer ring which has the bolt holes for attaching to a work bench. When installed, you can rotate approximately 160 degrees. To get the jaws to the other side of the circle, you would have to remove the vise from the bench and rotate, or remove the vice from the pedestal and reattach. you loose approximately 30 to 40 degrees of the entire 360 to account for the connecting bar. |
Question: | dose this vise have replaceable jaws |
Answer: | Wilton does not list a replacement Jaw part # for this model, even though they say they are replacable, Calling Wilton didn't help. Nobody could find this 11106 replacement jaws |
Question: | why does amazon say this is made of steal when if you look at the website it says Made from 30,000 PSI gray cast iron |
Answer: | The bench vise is made out of high-strength steel. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Why are some people stating that this product is not made in the US |
Answer: | It is covered by a "limited lifetime warranty". I do not have the paperwork that came with my vise to see what is specifically stated, so a searched the web to see what that really meant. I believe that it is confusing at best. One owner posted that, when he took his vise to a Wilton repair center, he was told that the "lifetime" referred to the projected life of the vise and not the original owner. He said that he was told that the warranty for this vise was 6 years. I think that I would have pursued it back through Wilton to get clarification. I have used my vise for over 8 years and have found to be a fantastically well made vise. I have had no problems. |
Question: | What is the warranty |
Answer: | Mine says made in USA so far i have beat the hell out of mine and use a 24" cheater pipe for extra clamp force .favorite vice of the 4 in my shop 2 are wilton's 2 are ? My older Wilton is 50 years old and looks like it it has been abused its whole life. Aside from broken replacement jaws it keeps coming back for more and i see no sign the 1765 wont ether. |
Question: | Ok, some faq's from indicate this was made in the usa, but from 2014. is this vise still made in the usa |
Answer: | In 2017 we bought this vice, as was made in good USA. The 6 inch, Wilton, we bought was foreign made and we returned it. Order it, if it comes to you made other than US A, return it. We support U S A products and support and hire veterans. We have several Wilton vices made in USA, and they last. Imports are junk to us. |
Question: | Which is it? us made or not? ...many conflicting reviews...can someone from wilton or a seller chime in to confirm the country of origin |
Answer: | AMAZON. It's where I ordered the vise |

Iron Body
60,000 PSI ductile iron body is virtually indestructible with 2X the strength of grey casted vises.
