Answer:	Depends. They are fine for 12v connections assuming you use the right size for the wire/amps. They are not waterproof, so I would not use them under the hood or anywhere exposed to moisture.

Answer:	Depends more on the wire size, but I would think less than the wire itself unless you mechanically twist the joint, too. Solder as the primary conductor in the joint isn't the best if the joint is likely to get heated by the current.

Answer:	You will just need to twist the wires together and heat shrink them. Solder inside the connector will melt and bond the wires together. The connection is almost as strong as crimping and heat shrinking. When heat is applied, polyolefin tubing reduces in size and adhesive flows inside the insulation, creating a strong seal

Question:	Can this crimp jst sm connectors
Answer:	I believe you should be able to. The picture of the "JST type connectors" shown with the 3-position parallel crimper (yellow) does appear very much like the SYM-001T-P0.6 pin connector JST specifies for the SM series. The widths are the same between the two series (at least for the socket: 1.95mm), and while the total length of the SM socket is 9mm vs. 6.5mm for XH, they appear to have about the same spacing and width of the conductor and insulator crimps. (The drawings in JST's data sheets don't show the same views or measurements between the series.)
Question:	Which kit would be better for primarily making arduino, raspberry pi, and rc hobby jumper cables? the awg 26-18 or the awg
Answer:	While I almost never use anything heavier than AWG22 for Arduino/Pi work, you might want the 1mm crimp for RC power? Per a quick Google, an 18AWG stranded copper wire can handle 3.5A while 20AWG is only 2.5A. For me, the big difference is the accuracy of the parallel jaws in the 26-18 tool. But with the 26-20 tool, you get adjustable crimping force which could be useful, too. I have both and haven't really developed a preference between them. Probably wouldn't have bought the 26-20 tool if the 26-18 had been available earlier.

Answer:	2.54 works perfectly with jst kh - that's why I bought it

Answer:	It should be okay for the JR connectors which are basically Dupont, but I think the die is too thick (I measured 4.6mm) for JST-PH which according to JST's drawing has a crimp length of 2.85mm for both the insulation and conductor combined. The Iwiss SN-2549 claims to do PH and Dupont though I wish it crimped the insulation a bit narrower for Dupont.

Answer:	Didn't make them so who knows? Most of this stuff is manufactured in China.
Question:	What is the voltage rating for these connectors? can they be used for 120v ac household wiring
Answer:	Voltage for these connectors are less important than the current going through them. They are designed to to far exceed the max current rating for the wires they are connecting. I work on boats and use them regularly for 120 vac and 12&24 vdc. I do not recommend using them on household wire. They are designed to connect stranded wire and although they will crimp to a solid core wire common for houses the industry standard in houses is to use wire nuts. Also most building codes (for both boats and houses) require all connections for ac wiring to be in a mounted box or isolated in some way. A butt connector doesn't count.
Question:	what are the dimensions of the box
Answer:	Depends on the quantity of pieces being purchased. The 250 pcs assortment that I just purchased here, is about 5.5" x 7.5".

Answer:	Wow, so many clueless reviews. Heat shrink can and does contain heat activated adhesive sealant. It does not affect the connection at all, only seals to prevent water intrusion on marine applications such as wiring a bilge pump. I do not know if these have it but you will see a small amount ooze out if it does.
Question:	what temperature is needed to shrink these? Will a hair blow dryer work or is heat gun needed
Answer:	Hair dryer, heat gun, lighter, mini torch all work.
Question:	Are you certified to use them at 120/127 volts
Answer:	Wire size and material determine maximum current and loss due to heat (ignore above comment). Insulation determines maximum voltage. 120 volts is American household voltage. These are designed for marine and automotive applications which are typically 12 volts, sometimes 24 volts, and rarely 48 volts or other voltage. I would verify with manufacturer what the maximum voltage the insulation can take is. I repeat, these are not designed for household use, and I have never heard of those voltages in a marine or automotive application.
Question:	What crimp tool is needed to crimp these
Answer:	Make sure to use a crimped for coated connectors. If you puncture the coating they will no longer be waterproof. If that doesn't matter the regular butt connectors are way cheaper. Use these for wet applications and marine for sure.

Answer:	I don’t know the exact rating but it is made for low-voltage like 12 V or 24 V connections. Not 120 V use.

Answer:	i do not see why they would not so long as you have the right size for the wire diameter and enough room to heat them without effecting other parts of the RC car.

Question:	Why cannot we get a mutikit with bloody 8 awg butt solder joins? why such an issue
Answer:	I would guess that they do not have enough solder, in the joiner, to be effective. Or there is not much call for that gauge wire, they can not be all things to all people. For that, strip the wires, place some shrink tubing on one of the wires, solder, let it cool, slide the shrink tube over, shrink it. Some times, when there is sufficient wire length, I place two different size shrink tube,. shrinking the smaller one first, letting it cool. The slide the larger one over the other.

Auto/marine 12volt applications ONLY they are great quality and I have used them to wire multiple vehicles and boats. I am a wiring engineer 20 years, please DO NOT try to use these for your home wiring. Your house could burn down or you could be seriously injured. Look up home wiring supplies, get a electrical tester that tells you if a wire is live! Wire nuts are your better option if your going to use anything, wrap them in electrical tape. Please be safe, consult a professional.
