Question:	I wanted to attach to 18v makita grinder to trim branches from trees. any one use it for trimming trees
Answer:	I have this tool but I only use it for rough woodcarving. For tree work I use the Makita 18V 'Sawzall' style reciprocating saw with a 'Wood-Hog" type coarse-tooth blade. With the "D" handle I can reach over my head with one hand and cut 2 or 3-inch limbs quickly and safely. Unlike the carving disc which is difficult to keep in the cut and tends to bounce all over, even when held with two hands, the recipro saw is pretty much self-guiding. If you already have the 18V LXT battery and charger system, the Makita bare tool is only ~$100 US

Answer:	Nope, but if they're truly carbide then it should have zero problem with such a soft stone. Carbide is used to machine all sorts of metals even titanium. I would assume stone will wear the carbide down faster than wood but slower than metal.

Answer:	I don't know how your grinder is set up. However, if it has a base that slips over the shaft and a nut that secures, I would measure the base and see if it can accept something with a 5/8" hole. It's hard to describe in a few words, so, I apologize if it doesn't make sense.

Question:	how long do these discs last on average
Answer:	Hard to say. I am not a professional woodworker, more of an avid hobbyist. I regularly give the disc a hard workout shaping bowls from fairly large birch and spruce burl. Each project takes about a 3-5 days, using the disc hard about an hour each day. Sill going strong and i have no complaints. The dics do tend to get clogged up a bit from time to time. However, not a big problem, just take it off the grinder and burn the embedded word off with a little propane hand torch. The course disc takes a lot of wood off fast. With some practice you can achieve a fairly consistent finish without a lot of dippy doodles.

Answer:	It will the only thing is its a pain, I find it easier to use a Lenox gold blade and a knife the manual stripper will probably take longer

Answer:	no, the smallest ive been able to strip is 14 awg., its great on all wire bigger then 14 guage til u get up to about 400 mcm then its worth just stripping by hand

Answer:	From the directions: For the 1/2" Kit use a 3/8" Drill bit. For the 3/4" Kit use a 5/8" Drill bit. For the 1" Kit use a 7/8" Drill bit. For the 1-1/4" Kit use a 1-1/8" Drill bit. For the 1-1/2" Kit use a 1-3/8" Drill bit.From me: Use hard wood! And, ALWAYS Lubricate your tap with Linseed Oil or Tung Oil!

Answer:	TPI for 3/4" is 6, same as a broom handle. TPI are standard for all these products, so look at another supplier who states the TPI for the diameter. Garret Wade does not state in their product description.

Answer:	These will definitely work well with Walnut and Oak. Usually it's best to use hard woods vs soft woods for this, only because of how the threading affects it.
