Answer:	I don't believe there is any warranty. We applied it two years ago and the covered areas still look good. The section in direct Sun...needs to have it applied again.

Answer:	We actually used some that we had stored in our garage that was left over from the last time we stained our siding and that was in the summer of 2012, 6 yrs ago. When we removed the lid, it looked like it had become a gel but my husband used a drill with a paint mixer/stirrer tool and it became liquefied again. We applied it to the siding without incident and the color matched the new 5 gallon containers we bought this summer .

Answer:	I’m in the process of staining my fence (I am using a different brand) with a semi-transparent stain. I have 187’ of fence at 5’ high including 2 gates. Applied with a roller and brush, I’m going to need around 13 gallons. My recommendation is rent a sprayer from Home Depot. You’ll save time and money as you’ll use less product and it will go much much faster.
Question:	we have a heavy dining set and i am worried about scratches after i stain, how does it hold up to heavy chairs moving back and forth
Answer:	I have a deck/patio furniture set, including a cast iron umbrella base. Lots of use over the last year with no evidence of scratches in the deck. The stain penetrates the wood rather than building a barrier so dragging stuff across the boards won't take it off provided the wood is properly prepared.

However, after a year the surface may look dirty, and so you may want to clean it and re-seal it. Question:	What is the preferred application method according to the label
Answer:	Apply to a clean, dry composite deck using a manual pump sprayer. Spray the sealer in an even , ample amount to soak in well. Cover end pieces and edges of boards thoroughly as well. Use a squeegee to get even coverage if necessary. Allow to dry thoroughly, 24 to 48 hours if needed. It will dry clear unless there is a deep puddle left standing upon application. (Small puddles will soak in and dry clear. Deep peddles may leave a slightly milky look after drying.) If you have no mold in your deck before you use this, this product will keep mold out of your composite deck for about three years.
Question:	Is this product water based
Answer:	I haven't put it down yet. I'm not sure if it's water based or not. I'm ordering a second gallon before I start as I won't have enough to finish. I will post what I find once I've had an opportunity to use it.

Answer:	I don't know about your decking product, but we used this cleaner on our "TREX" deck, and it worked great. We power washed the deck before applying the cleaner, and it dried looking practically brand new.

Question:	I want to use this on a 6x6 wood beam at the opening to my walk-in shower (floor to ceiling). No direct shower spray. Will this seal it
Answer:	Yes you may use it for this specific application. As suggested in a comment down bellow, you would want to make sure that it is fully cured before using the shower. Typically it would take 48 hours to cure but it may take longer depending on the environment.

Answer:	Hello, Yes lightly wipe those spots and and make sure those areas are dry before putting into use. note: wet spots could have been caused by a lack of penetration into the wood (a previous stain or sealant could be the culprit), applying to heavy, or the presence of moisture in the wood.
Question:	How do you open the plastic seal lid
Answer:	Hello, Thanks for your question on this. The plastic lid can be slightly difficult to take off, but is applied to ensure safe transport. To remove, I have found that a paint can opener or flat head screw driver wedged either in the top or on the side on the can works pretty easily. Be sure not to use a hammer to try and wedge the flat head screw driver in, as you want to avoid damaging the metal can.

Answer:	There are two different models you must choose from. One is only a strainer, while the other is both a strainer and a stopper. Just pick the one that reads 'strainer stopper' and you'll be fine!

How much stain do you need to buy?

One gallon of wood stain covers approximately 250-350 square feed, which is enough for a small to medium deck. It should also cover both sides of a 25 foot long fence or a couple pieces of furniture.

Two Gallons

Two gallons of wood stain cover approximately 600 square feed, which should be more than enough for the standard deck project or a 50 foot long fence.

Three or more Gallons

Three or more gallons of wood stain will most likely only be needed on large projects, as they should cover over 850 square feed.

Note: Solid Color Stain requires two coats. You should effectively double your gallons purchased when using a solid.

How To Stain Your Wood Deck In 3 Easy Steps

Sweep debris from deck and then use a product such as Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner to penetrate the wood and lift dirt to the surface to be cleaned, as well as clean stains caused by mildew, dirt, algae and mold. Allow surface to dry.

STEP 2

Tape off any surfaces you don’t want stained. Also, avoid staining in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces because the stain will dry too fast to penetrate properly.

STEP 3

For clear, toner and semi-transparent stains, apply a thin coat with a high-quality brush, roller, paint pad, or spray. For solid stains, apply two thin coats with a brush, roller, or paint pad. To avoid lap marks, apply to a few boards at a time, keeping a wet edge.

For best results, backbrush into the surface to work finish into the wood and ensure the coating is even. Make sure to treat all areas of the wood, including joints, edges and ends.

Question:	what clear seal do you recommend to use on 12year old pressure treated planks
Answer:	I've used Thompson's water-based semi-transparent stain/sealer 3 times now for my 15 year-old pressure-treated deck and it has always done a great job of covering and protecting the wood. It doesn't really last the 4 years they claim, but still very good. They also make an oil-based clear sealer and I use that on my cedar pergola, also very good stuff but it's hard to work with because it doesn't cleanup with water. As an alternative to the oil-base they have an all-purpose water-based clear sealer for wood and masonry. I would use that on my pergola if it was made of pressure treated wood, but with cedar I really want a penetrating oil. So for your pressure treated deck, I would recommend the water-based clear sealer. Given how well the semi-transparent stain has worked for me, I would expect good results with the clear as well. You will certainly want to clean the wood first if you expect to brighten the gray appearance of aged wood. I spray oxygen bleach on the wood first and then scrub with a stiff brush and rinse before sealing.

Answer:	Yes, I think it would be suitable. I have only used it on my deck however. Good protection in a wet climate. Rub it down well after it dries to keep the color from getting on clothes though if you're using a color stain.

Question:	I already put linseed oil on my pine joists (in my shower) over a year ago now. Could I now put this product on for a better waterproof seal
Answer:	I don't see why not. It has been a year. If it was only a few months, I would not use it.
Question:	Can this be used on outdoor cedar furniture to seal and maintain the woods natural color
Answer:	I have not tried cedar specifically but so far the all the other types of wood have kept their original color. There was a little bit of a whitish film right after application but that went away after it soaked in.
Question:	If i use this on a trellis made of new pine 2x4s, how long can i reasonably expect it to last? when will i want to to reapply? no ground contact
Answer:	If you apply the product generously and then come back before it dries and do another light application you should get a minimum of 3 years and most likely 5 years.
Question:	I have made a wooden sink cover for my kitchen. Would this product keep the wood from warping/taking on water damage
Answer:	We used this product in the back of a box truck. The floor has been wet many times over the last year and the wood has held up great. We have no warping or damage. Good luck.

Question:	How effective is this compared to other wood preservative products--green/brown/copper stains--you have used for wood touching ground
Answer:	It is not as effective as tinted products. I apply it every year, and it seems to have extended the life of my 22-year-old cedar deck. It's not great, but I think that's the cost of using a clear product. The deck gets a lot of snow. And there is one area that never sees the sun. Those boards never get to dry completely, and 2 of them needed to be replaced after about 20 years. Those that do get some sun are still solid.
Question:	Can I use this to coat wooden clipboards to protect from liquids
Answer:	Thompsons Water Seal will protect anything made of wood. Just paint the TWS on with a brush and let dry for 24 hours and apply a second coat. Make sure you coat the edges really well also.
Question:	What is product sheen ? I want a matte / satin when dried. This is for cedar posts on a covered deck, doesn't see much sun or rain. Thanks

Question:	Does it contain teflon
Answer:	The product is great and very stable. It is possible to “under mount“ this product. Sink will have to be mounted to a “subframe support” conforming to the entire perimeter of the bowl. The sink can be attached to a 3/4 - 1” frame using the supplied mounting clips. Anything thicker will be questionable. Allow for 1/8” (sink-lip) space between the subframe and the bottom surface of your counter material. An ample application of silicone sealant (Clear) between sink and the counter top will do the job.
Question:	Can this be used on painted deck
Answer:	Approximately 7 1/2” on my sink.
Question:	Can it be brushed on
Answer:	The roll up dish rack is included in the package. If not included, pls email to us through [email protected] with your order ID, we will make this correct.
Question:	May wood surface be painted with finish after being treated with this sealant
Answer:	For proper fit, we recommend taking the exterior dimension of the sink(left to right) and adding at least 3" for access to install hardware. Actually, can be smaller a little than we suggest.

Question:	Will this work with super thick deck stains? the deck stain i'm using is so thick i can't get much on a roller. the stain can fill upto 1/4 inch crack
Answer:	I’m sure it will not work. It works great on oil stains, which are thinner than paint, more like water. If you are using Behr Deckover I would seriously encourage you do some research - that is notoriously hard to apply successfully (think class action lawsuits). Good luck.
Question:	What is the difference between this product and Deck Boss
Answer:	I’d say price? I have this one and it works great! I’d definitely save the extra$$$ and go with this
Question:	Would this really work for solid color deck stain or is it meant for thinner transparent stains
