About Seiko:

In 1877, at the age of 18, Kintaro Hattori set up business repairing the Western-style clocks that were becoming increasingly popular in Japan. By 1892, Hattori was manufacturing his own clocks in a factory he called Seikosha, from the words "seiko" meaning "exquisite," "success," or "miniature," and "sha" meaning "house." The company grew and prospered, producing its first wristwatch in 1913 and launching the Seiko brand in 1924. Technological innovation has always been a driving force in the company's history. Key milestones include Seiko's introduction of the world's first quartz watch in 1969, and its successful launch, in 1988, of the Kinetic, the world's first battery-free watch with quartz accuracy. Recognized for its technological excellence, Seiko has provided timekeeping services for the Olympic Games and the World Cup Soccer Championships. User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit a 7 7,5 wrist
Answer: The total length including the watch and the stainless steel band is around 8"1/2. You may need to remove some of the links or change the whole band to NATO nylon band.
Question: Which seller sells the version that says Made In Japan on the dial
Answer: I do,Montvic Japan
Question: Can I shower with it
Answer: While I have 1 of seikos divers watches (200m) & not this model I do also have plenty of other watches that aren't made as well. While they say not to wear watches in the shower as steam is the part that can actually penetrate into the watch, I wear almost every watch I own in the shower. No matter what your not supposed 2 do w/a watch if I forget to take a watch off before my shower & it were to get wet internally I would consider that watch a piece of crap. While this watch is known not to be as water resistant as their more expensive divers watches I still have cheaper Seiko watches that I've showered w/for years w/no issues. That being said if U take hot showers I believe it's always gonna be an "at your own risk" situation...
Question: What is the strap width? in one place, it say's 20. in another, it says 22. if i buy this watch, id like to put either a leather or nato strap on it
Answer: Hello, the width is 22mm.

User questions & answers

Question: Where can i send it for maintenance if i buy it from canada. can i take it to any of the sicko's dealer in as it's under 3 years factory warranty
Answer: I believe any Authorized Seiko Dealer would honor the warranty. Or if they don’t, send it to Seiko Service Center 1111 Macarther Blvd. Mahwah, NJ 07430 201-529-3316 [email protected] You will love this watch. Only had it for 3 months but have bodyboarded and scuba dived with it. Exceeded my expectations. Good luck.
Question: Does this watch have a Kanji date wheel
Answer: No this model does not. Though, it is possible to get Japanese Domestic Models (JDM) of some of the Seiko turtles and Those *may* have kanji on the day / date wheel. The JDM of this model will, if there is one, look exactly the same but have a different model number go online and do a search. There are two other very similar JDM turtles both with blue and silver and both with kanji on the dial. The SBDY013 and the SBDY031.
Question: Is this seiko srpc91 save the ocean watch made in Japan ? thanks
Answer: On the back plate it says “movement Japan” which suggests other countries may be involved in both parts and assembly. I will say this watch is amazing. Keeps great time, watertight, and looks beautiful.
Question: How does the finish feel on the bezel versus an SKX
Answer: In comparing this to the SKX007 or 009, the STO is double the price. Therefore it is of better quality. The 6R36 movement provides hacking and hand winding, and the bezel is also PVD coated along its coin edge. All around better watch IMO.

User questions & answers

Question: Why do you advertise a Japanese watch with Swiss movement
Answer: It has a Japanese movement. I’m not sure why the seller posted that.
Question: This watch can be confusing on the descrption, it has the word automatic, but also says it needs a battery. So my question is a battery needed
Answer: It is an automatic, does not need a battery. It’s a beautiful watch in person.
Question: Does it say movement japan on the back
Answer: No It does not printed in the back of watch. but Not to mention .it is made in Japan Thanks.
Question: what is the difference between the "turtle" and the "samurai
Answer: The turtle seiko watches have a more rounded case. The samurai cases are much more angular. The crown on the samurai is at 3 o clock, the turtle is at 4 oclock. The hands are different. The samurai has date only, turtle has day/date. There may be some exceptions to the above, but in general, to me, the big difference, is do you want it pointy and sharp? Get the samurai. Do you want it round and smooth? Get the turtle.

Question: Is the dial on this model blue or black ? are there options to blue or black dial on skx
Answer: No, I disagree. The 009 does not come ever with the option of purchasing a black dial. It is a very dark blue, and the 007 is a black dial. To my knowledge and research there is no skx009 with a black dial.
Question: This watch is called a Diver's watch, but the description says it's not ok to dive with it...Is it suitable for a dive watch at the specified depth
Answer: If you actually dive 200m then you are probably Aquaman and dont need this watch. 200m ~ 656 feet
Question: Does this watch have a blue dial and a blue/red bezel
Answer: The dial is very dark blue, almost as black, with blue/red bezel.
Question: How does this watch differ from the new PADI limited edition
Answer: I have an SKX007 as well as the Seiko Turtle PADI edition (SRPA21) and they are different in a few ways: 1). The PADI Turtle features a movement with hacking seconds and manual winding capabilities. 2). The Turtles (SRP collection) have a different case shape (cushion style) and are larger in diameter 3). The dial on the PADI turtle (PADI ed. only) has a sunburst-effect blue dial with PADI branding above the 6-o-clock marker. All in all, I have both an SKX and an SRP because I like them both for different reasons. Can't go wrong with either! But head-to-head the SRPs have the slight edge with the better movement.

    User questions & answers

Question: The dial and band look black in the picture but the specs say they are both blue. So which is it
Answer: The dial is a dark navy blue and the band is black. 100% positive on that. Great watch too.
Question: anybody have any problems with this watch
Answer: Not for me... mine is still running strong from the day my Dad (who already passed away) bought this watch almost 25 years ago. I only changed the strap to velcro type since the original rubber strap only last me about 3yrs or so. My watch show a little sign of old age and worn out the blue and red color, but appart from that is run as good as new everyday. Very reliable. Been using this for swimming and snorkling not deeper than 20 feet and it's still good. Just remember to tighten the dial before you put it in water.
Question: is it worth to pay his extra money
Answer: Don't know what you are paying. The 21 jewel version is made in Japan the 17 jewel version elsewhere . Hope this helps .
Question: i would be willing to pay a little more. is it possible to get this with a us seiko 3 year manufacturer's warranty
Answer: I'm pretty sure seiko discontinue this model. So doubt there will be a manufacturer warranty available. I'd skip the warranty anyways for a watch this price. Service would likely be cheap in the rare chance that you need it. Best to research for yourself for specifics.

Today, the Seiko brand continues to stand for state-of-the-art technology, as well as superior quality and refined design.

    User questions & answers

Question: It says black strap but the picture shows the silicon stap to be blue? Whoch is it blue or black
Answer: The watch will remain water resistant to 330 feet, as long as it's not moving. Arm movement can actually increase the effective pressure on the watch, which will cause it to leak. That's why they say "water resistant to 330 feet," not "waterproof to 330 feet."
Question: Does this wstch have a bezel lock and if so how to operate
Answer: Once your watch is set to the correct day/date so that it changes when it should, the other "words" will no longer be visible after the day/date cycles.
Question: I've had blue bands before than were hard as a rock, is this band a soft, stretchy silicone
Answer: My son & I both have this watch & we have used it in salt water many times without any problems re corrosion. It states on back "stainless steel back". My watch is approx. 3 years old & my sons about 3 months. Both keep excellent time. For the price I paid they have been very good purchases.
Question: What’s the case diameter? Listed at 44 and 47? The answer posted isn’t definitive and I can’t wear a
Answer: Definitive answer: To be sold as a true "dive watch", a watch must be ISO 6425 certified. This certification entails a lot more than just water resistance (and water resistance ratings are static, and not to be taken literally in the first place). If the watch isn't certified, it can't be sold as being suitable for diving. There are 1000+m watches that aren't "dive watches".
