3 best tape measure with rubber jackets
A tape measure with a rubber jacket is a specialized type of tape measure commonly used in construction, carpentry, and various other fields where precise measurements are crucial. The rubber jacket, also known as a rubberized or rubber-coated case, provides several advantages in terms of durability, grip, and protection for the tape measure itself. Here are some key characteristics and benefits of tape measures with rubber jackets:
Durability: The rubber jacket enhances the overall durability of the tape measure. It helps protect the case and the tape from damage due to accidental drops or impacts, which is especially important on busy construction sites or in workshops.
Grip: The rubberized exterior provides a comfortable and secure grip, even in wet or slippery conditions. This ensures that the tape measure is easy to hold and use, even when wearing gloves.
Shock Absorption: The rubber casing can help absorb some of the shock from retracting the tape quickly, which can prolong the life of the tape measure's internal components and improve its longevity.
Weather Resistance: Rubber jackets can provide some level of weather resistance, protecting the tape measure from moisture, dust, and other environmental factors that could potentially affect its performance.
Visibility: Many tape measures with rubber jackets feature high-contrast markings on the tape, making it easier to read measurements in various lighting conditions.
Belt Clip: Most tape measures come equipped with a belt clip, allowing for convenient storage when not in use. The rubberized case often makes it easier to secure the tape measure to a belt or pocket.
Locking Mechanism: The locking mechanism on the tape measure ensures that the tape stays in place when extended, allowing for accurate measurements. Rubberized grips on the locking lever or button can enhance ease of use.
Tape Material: The actual tape on these measures is typically made of steel or fiberglass, which provides durability and precision in measurements. The rubber jacket primarily surrounds the case.
Tape measures with rubber jackets are popular among professionals and DIY enthusiasts who require a reliable measuring tool that can withstand the rigors of their work environments. The combination of durability, ease of use, and protection offered by the rubberized casing makes them a valuable addition to any toolbox or tool collection, especially in the context of home improvement, construction, or any tasks that require accurate linear measurements.

Product description
Back in 1999 Komelon came out with the Gripper and its design was revolutionary. We took this design one step further and added our Speed mark fractional graduations to the blade. The 25-Feet Gripper speed mark has an easy grip, thick rubber jacket surrounding its ergonomic compact case. The blade on the Gripper speed mark is acrylic coated and has fractional graduations printed on the blade making it quick and easy to read. When you reach in your tool belt for a tape measure, make sure you feel the Gripper speed mark because everything else is substandard.
- SpeedMark fractional graduations on blade
- Non glare white blade
- Easy grip, thick rubber jacket
- Protected end hook
- Stud markings noted on blade
